Watching a sewing video only to be reminded I need butter feels very much like the youtube sewing community😭(at least the side I watch lol)

Hey it’s the corset lady! Awesome work, inspired me to make my shirt stays. I did a mock up back lacing.. pain in the butt to get on/off. I’m going to modify the pattern myself to be front lacing. I grew up loving Halloween because I lived in a competitive decorations neighborhood like lots of DIY decor and garages turned into haunted houses.. back in the days before everything got all “stranger danger” and razors in apples bs. By the time I was an adult and moved I lived in an area that did not celebrate Halloween at all and I gave up on it, but starting to love it again, mostly as a celebration of fall and upcoming cold weather more than for horror movies and such.

I only just found your account in the last few days and I am shocked that you don't have more subscribers! You have fantastic content and you explain what you are doing to the point where it is getting me inspired to try and make my own corset. I'm going to continue my watch through of your videos now. :) Keep making! You have a great eye for fabrics to use.

Oh they both turned out so cute!!!! I think the idea of putting gores into your late 18th c stays pattern to get the new fashionable bust shape makes sense-- you can literally see drawstring cups in some 1790s transitional stays. And I love the lacing on the apron! I thrifted an oatmeal linen blend jumper of my own to alter, and I think that needs to be worked on today 😍

YES I want to make a corset with those drawstring cups someday! & yes do it I wear mine all the time now!

The day you sat and thought to yourself “you know what? I’m just going to go for it” and made a KZbin channel was such a blessed day. 🥲 Your channel is so dang cozy and I LOVED the baking intermission! Thank you so much for the frequent corset content as well because I literally never get tired of corset videos lol. Anything lacing/fantasy-inspired/corset-inspired/hobbit-inspired is always a sure watch! Also about your thumbnail, I sincerely hope I don’t sound like a jerk but your first one popped so much more! I saw it when you first uploaded your video but couldn’t sit down to watch it at that time, so I knew I’d come back to it later. But then when I was scrolling through my subscriptions looking for your video again I almost scrolled right past it because the current thumbnail didn’t catch my eye. (I’m so sorry if this is mean) 😭 All I’m trying to say is that I think your first instinct was the right one! And I just want you to catch as many eyes as possible because you deserve it. 🤗 Either way thank you for another great upload!! 💖

Thank you! im so glad people aren't getting tired of corsets, bc neither am I! & yes I agree about the thumbnail, I fell asleep b4 I could change it back!😂 (& no you definitely weren't mean about it!!!)

Both are lovely, the reversible-ness of the first one is great! I love that blouse, and it's definitely a fall beginning time! Hope doggo is okay!!

I look forward to your wholesome content and get so excited to see whenever you have a new upload! The sewingtube has been feeling stagnant for me but I think you being newer gives it so much more fun new life! Yes to repetitive and double yes for (hopefully coming soon) needlessly extra long form content cause who is crafting for if not for people who enjoying the same B-roll footage, Frankenstein patterns, too-detailed how-tos and cozy background music to help us through our own crafts so we don’t have to pick a new video when one is over! Just promise me as a fellow Maksy lover to not overuse the word whimsy/whimsical…🤣 On a secondary practical note: what kind of boning did you use? The one I got as a new sewist to practice gets really bendy with my curves and I’m looking to upgrade now that I’ve know what I’m doing better and don’t have to worry about wasting good product.
@maybebre Жыл бұрын
omg thank you SO much 😊 & the boning is a 10mm low density boning with cotton cover (unfortunately from amazon, can't find anything like this near me but I keep looking)

I love your presentation/personality and both these garments turned out so cute! Subscribed :) I have that same corset pattern but have been too scared to actually try it. Might give it a try after seeing you crush it! Haha

thank you!!! & yes definitely try it out, I had to make a couple of small changes fit wise but overall a super fun pattern!

They turned out cute! For pronunciation it is go-day for godet but you also say corsette rather than corset so I think since we know what you mean it's not a huge deal

👋 Hello there, new sub here! I know what you mean about corsets they are addicting 😂 Have you tried Simplicity #9592 or Simplicity #9734 yet? They are improved patterns & perfect for wardrobe staple pieces to mix n match.

Hi there! Really love you video. I am going to make my first corset! I bought the same pattern and will be doing the C model. However, as a big(ger) boob girl too, i wondered if you had to alter the pattern so your boobs would fit, or wasn’t that necessary? Thank you for your time and help! Love, Maaike

I'm so excited for you! Yes, I tend to add about a 1/2 inch just to the bust part ( 1/4 inch to each front & side front piece at the bust). Hope this helps & good luck!
