I came over from Toy Polloi. Here I thought this was going to be a repaint but you went way beyond that! Nice work.

This is great! Have you ever tried the Alumilite mold making products? That may save you some time for certain parts. Once you have a mold you could recreate the parts in any color resin you'd like. Again, great work!

That turned out awesome! Great job on the custom sculpt work and adding the Havoc Staff head to the grapple hook. Another paint tip that might help in the future is to scour all plastic parts with abrasive pads and then wash before priming. Almost all injection molded plastic is treated with a coating at the factory that makes it hard for paint to stick. Also, as you learned the hard way, it's best to paint when humidity is below 65% and I have found it is best to go slow, paint in thin layers and let them dry completely (48 hours) before adding additional coats. It's a pain in the rear to be patient and go so slow, but it's less of a pain in the rear than having to sand everything down and start over.😁

Try using Tamiya primers. They are amazing for plastics and many glossy materials that have a hard time taking paint.

Great job man. Maybe you should try finding lego dragon wings. There are diferent sizes and one of them should fit. That way you wouldnt need to sculpt them. But they could be pricey.

I'd rather just wait and see if Mattel Creations does something like this. They're releasing Night Stalker eventually.
@MakeShapeCreate Жыл бұрын
That’s totally fine! I couldn’t wait lol
@brushstroke373311 ай бұрын
Mattel Creations might eventually release a Night Stalker or a Storm Raider, but I wouldn't count on either. Both the Wind Raider and Stridor have been on sale for a long time as neither sold nearly as well as it seemed Mattel hoped they would. Even though they already have the molds, they still might not think making the alternate versions is worth the trouble or small profit. Hopefully they will make them - I'm just saying I wouldn't bet much on it.

Why not use a vintage one instead of a new one I literally have a whole crap load of these that nobody wants I keep ending up with them with broken wings and other broken parts I think I've got four where I've been meaning to find out how they come apart because the string is broken for the grappling hook and I've been meaning to find out if there's a way to take them apart and put the string back on getting the original wings is just ludicrous I wish somebody on eBay made 3D printed wings for this thing where I keep getting them in boxes of stuff people are getting rid of the sides for the Landshark or another example I think I've got six Lan sharks with one or both sides broken and it's almost impossible to get the side off of one without it breaking and falling apart because of colored plastic syndrome. Honestly wish people made replacement 3D sides for the land shark
@MakeShapeCreate Жыл бұрын
You could totally do this with a vintage, and @toypolloi has a set of vintage wind raider stickers you could modify
@peterparker6584 Жыл бұрын
@@MakeShapeCreate Given how flimsy the wings are on the original and little fin on the back I don't know why nobody 3D prints replacements given how many GI Joe vehicles you can get 3D printed replacement parts. Not joking I've got a box of wind Raiders where I keep ending up with them missing the wings. Land sharks and other one where I keep getting them with the pieces on the back broke and let the guns go on.
