okay wow, praise dump... the attention to detail, the dedication, the 3D and 2D modeling/texturing, the voiceover/delivery, the editing, the on-point nicknames for everything - just knocked it all out of the park. hats off mate, seriously. earned an enthusiastic sub and stoked to see what you do next. side note, the statue holding the baby behind messmer calls to mind the iron maidens in an interesting way. add to that the serpent imagery on the abductors plus some patterning on the lower half that looks similar to stuff seen in SotE imagery. bonus points that we know the iron maidens have the ability to teleport the player (i.e. traverse different planes?). wonder if there are overlooked lore implications to these abductors? but maybe all this is just rykard-related. but again, why the baby? also love the theory that the shadow lands are inception-y upside/above the lands between. for some reason that was my initial impression as well.

@@JarHed69 as a video editor myself, i'm a big believer that high effort video work should be praised. hope you keep going - it's rare to see such high quality content. doing an NG+ play through rn and just did the abandoned cave in caelid (where you get the golden scarab). it's full of iron maidens, which is kind of hilarious because the entrance to the cave would make wheeling them out of the cave impossible. with the boss for the cave being the duo of cleanrot knights, i'm even more intrigued by the abductors. why would a wall-side cave in caelid guarded by cleanrot knights be full of iron maidens in various states of disrepair? perhaps it's all random and we'll never know. but it's been fun pondering it and hoping there's some pay off/connections made in the dlc. maybe iron maidens harvested dead bodies from the battlefield of the shattering war in caelid? can't help but wonder about all those gravestones littering the "starting area" of the dlc. anyway, i'll def be watching any and all vids you make on dlc lore, that's for sure. cheers!

Wonderful job! I kind tend to believe the veil is directly cutting off attached lands, with us dying as part of touching the visqueen. Part of me thinks it will be the center of the map, which seems very heavily hinted at but the similarities to the northern parts of the map make me think of the Forbidden Lands and the straight cutting offs north of the Shaded Castle and find myself hoping we'll see at least what happened there. "He might be a priest, or assassin type." Same thing in this game, if Two Fingers is to be believed. Interesting you noted about the Carian king guys crown- i wonder if Messner'a confirmed connection to a Carian princess will have much to do with that. Unless that IS the princess.

Yeah I also reckon the Veils themselves are what's keeping the Shadow Lands Hidden, and I'm also increasingly sure it'll just be the centre of the Lands Between... I'm really exited to learn if the edge of Leyndell itself was warped away with the Shadow Lands? There's the Divine Bridge that's missing, so maybe that'll be around the peninsula poking out behind the Main Castle? And on the Gold Trim on those Soldier's helmets, I've just realised its design is similar to that shield in the Wicker Man Poster, on the side of the horse?

I also believe the world of the shadow lands will be much more dense & interconnected compared to base game! Obviously certain open areas with a lot of space will be included but I think it will be much less in the expansion with more connected & vertical areas! I also think he’s underselling the whole “size of Limgrave” thing which has me speculating the map will be around Limgrave, Weeping Peninsula & maybe even like half of Caelid combined not to mention the underground areas like Nokron in lands between!

@@JarHed69 I loved it! The amount of work must have been enormous, that's quite as I imagined it to be! I still believe the Shadow Lands are supposed to have been placed in the middle of the Lands Between, as the environment and flora match each of the four biomes (mountaintop of the Giants apart), and the Shadow tree is in the north, with no land above! Of course, the map is going to be smaller, for gameplay and development reasons, but I believe the density of the DLC will make it feel waay bigger. Another theory I read that supports this implication is that the veils in the sky are in equal number to and can be linked each one to the divine towers, which is at least really cool. Finally, I think we will have underground zones as well, and I really like your theory about those blue fields, that eternal cities sky comparison is on spot! Maybe some parts underground where veiled too

And yeah I'm also certain it'll be in the centre, but just not, like, "there but invisible" if you know what I mean? That's why I thought it'd be underneath the Lands Between, or more likely raised above? At the very least, I really WANT the Divine Bridge in Leyndell to have once connected to where the Shadow Lands /were/, and half the original capital could have been taken away? I've tried to count the Veils in the trailers today, but I honestly haven't been able to 😅 and the one on the Moon seems really significant to me? But this idea would just be really cool! And yeah, the idea of the Numen Boats/Galleons being underground would probably have some really interesting implications as well!

Would also make sense because we get our grace back from marika, meaning we can now be reborn from the erdtree again, so it makes sense that we died, we’re brought back to life, crossed the fog wall, and then we were reborn in the lands between.

34 new dlc sound tracks reported so that could be one song for every new area …main game has 60 plus soundtracks. In terms of size there could be more underground areas like the Sephora River. I suspect there will be an underground area in the lands of Shadow

It's all basic linework in in PhotoShop! I would actually love to stream these while I'm making them, but it takes a lot of hours though so may be a bit dull 😅😅 I built the base lines for the map from the models, then used the original map to reference all the lines for the cliffs. Colouring was the hardest part, someone on Quelaag's Discord suggested using different brushes, and it was just a lot of layering together to get the right effect. Lots of different layers to get the right colours and shading! I'm not 100% happy with the colour palette though... The ocean is just copied from the original, then blended together 🤣🤣

It reminded me of the haligtree and miquellas cocoon but with this primordial gold and she looks to be crying. She also has at least one arm up akin to marikas signature pose if I had to guess who it was

@@StarlingInSpace I'm not sure I see it? Under the pointing hand, there's the Gold gong up the tree bark on the left, then a large black misty bit, then the tree on the right? It'd be really cool if there was a figure there!

@@JarHed69 it’s tough to describe but the tree on the left with the gold going up is sort of outlining the figure. They are facing the right towards the knight, with the black misty bit being part of a separate tree I believe. If you look at the knights Lance as he points it up, to the left, the figure is aligned with/as tall as the weapon while being carved/on the tree. It’s easier to picture the large gold chunk as her left arm, and her right arm as going up the tree. Her head seems stoic with the shadow being cast on her chest and she looks like she’s crying tears of gold. Hope this helps

I was looking way below that, but yeah I can see the shape of the tree showing their raised, with a darker bit around their collar bone? I'd say their left arm is raised too? With the bright golden glint on the outside of their left arm? OR maybe it IS alongside their torso?

Thank god for disclaimer, i almost didnt buy the dlc thinking the map was gonna be one area.... $40 for a single area, i was about to say elden ring decided to do a pokemon legends ZA move and literally make ypu pay $60 for a game that takes place in one city

what if shadow of the erdtree itself is a zone in the dlc which matches the size of limgrave? am i reaching with that one? the more i watch on map size the smaller it feels.

TO be honest, I started a new game yesterday to prep for the DLC, and Limgrave actually feels tiny! So I'm feeling the opposite, like there's no way SotE won't be way bigger than Limgrave?
