Poor Blaidd… The Half-Wolf Warrior who, due to the circumstances of his creation, cannot follow Ranni to the end of her quest. But it’s because of those very same circumstances that he was able to assist her in the first place. And even in the throughs of madness, moments before his death, his loyalty is still absolute. Truly one of the most tragic figures in a FromSoft game.

The first person POV when he reaches for Ranni 😭 Blaidd's story is probably one of the most soul crushing in Fromsoft history. He never even learned why he got locked in the Evergaol, why Ranni wasn't at the tower when he got there, why he got attacked by black knife assassins, or that his whole purpose in life got snatched from him by some wandering Tarnished. He died confused, struggling with his own sanity, and heartbroken, which I feel like you can really see when he looks to the sky in disbelief when he dies.

Blaidd is such a tragic character. Ranni loves him very much so, but in the end he is duty bound to the greater will which drove him mad. Same goes for Iji. You can't help but question if they were all just used as tools by Ranni, but that can't be farther from the truth. They helped her because they wanted to. Pretty much why we helped her as well. Her questline and story is just peak perfection.

This story/movie made feel so much… it elevated this romantic, powerful and sad story to the emotional level it deserves. All those beautifully acted dialogues are so well put together… the characters seem real and so alive. This is the absolute beauty and genius of these From Software games : elaborating such deep stories yet told with so little (+ many deaths and rage quits between the different parts) so we can continue dreaming about and appropriate them, resulting in some magistral storytelling and fan art like this. I spent 200 hours on my first playthrough to get this ending. Wow what a game. If only I could experience it all again for the first time. Ranni's quest line was so amazing. Long. She kicked out all other contenders, laid down the law for her new order, and then voluntarily went into exile so that even _she_ (as the new monarch) could not meddle in mortal affairs. I think the "thousand year journey" she mentioned may have been a reference to the concept that each era comes to an end eventually, so she can really only grant people freedom until her own age comes to an end (but I'm not certain of that). But yeah, I like Miquella best. His journey is the most intriguing. A brilliant mind. That said, Miquella is pretty heavily implied to have bewitched people's minds to make them cooperate with him, so... yeah... 😬

This is by far my favorite of these "Prepare to Cry" videos I've watched. I've also watched the Blessing of Despair, Age of the Duskborn, and the Lord of Frenzied Flame episodes since I watched this and of course they're all literally amazing but this one goes so far beyond. The animations in the intro, the storytelling throughout, all of the cinematography, and just the way everything is presented in this episode is just perfect. I'm not sure if I just really like the lore of the Age of The Stars or if it's your work, but it all just stands out so well. Brav-fucking-o good sir. Truly well done.

I can't imagine the pain and the dismay in his final moments. The way you portrayed this entire leg of the story was absolutely breathtaking. I don’t think he was sad because ranni abandoned him cause his dialogue after you defeat radan implies that he knew this was possibly going to happen in my opinion I think he was just torn apart, mentally because of his duty for the two fingers to illuminate ranni went against that and killed the assassins protecting her but he still has that little inkling of loyalty, for the two fingers telling him to fulfill his duties to them but he loves ranni so much did he just can’t bring himself to do it that’s why he’s telling himself that he could never hurt her He’s trying to convince himself and help himself remember so he doesn’t betray her but sadly he lost the battle when we came along 😢

I liked this ending so much more than the other ones for two reasons: 1) it implies that Rani's order cleanses the rot that festers in The Lands Between to give it a fresh clean start, and 2) you sacrificed so much to get there. Blaidd, Iji, Melina, the entire Roundtable Hold, and even yourself just to give the world a fresh new start. This is as close as a heroic good ending that you can possibly get with this game, and I simply adored it because of that.

What happens to the Lands Between is really vague but if you take it at face value Ranni is not that great. She replaces Marika, takes the Ring and flies off into space with you, the Elden Lord. Scarlet rot is still there, Godwyn is still there, both spreading like cancer. Lovecraftian monsters can rain down from the sky at any moment. Beings like the Formless Mother can mess with people without opposition. And no one left to do anything about these issues. No king, no god, no leader, just disorganized people and ruins. It's a very selfish ending. Ranni is free from the influence of the Greater Will and you get to have space adventures with your waifu but land is absolutely fucked.

This is a masterpiece. The only thing that makes me want to cry is the little speech at the end and knowing I get to watch all of these works of art. It's kind of funny when it's over and you back out to realize that this was "just a KZbin video." Back in the days of DS1, these videos were amazing because of your narration and your ability to piece together stories that were meant to have gaps, now it's that and the insane art work, animations, in-game visuals and camera work, and now even custom made music.
