I made the most evil sim in The Sims 3 but the game fought back

ADHD club! ✨I made a Sim with pseudo-ADHD! His traits were absent-minded, dramatic, ambitious, over-emotional, and clumsy. I fulfilled every want that popped up to see how he behaved if he was in charge. He bounces around from interest to interest and gets fleeting but extreme wants, like, if he works out, his next want is “work out for 8 hours straight”. His absent-minded clumsiness means he has trouble focusing and makes mistakes. Dramatic Sims hate menial tasks so he whines if he’s bored. Over-emotional makes him bounce between really high highs and really low lows. He quickly became a jack of all trades due to his eagerness for everything, but he’s also nocturnal, never gets enough sleep, and always seems to be running to the next thing. While tripping over himself. I took him to college, and he skipped every single class and studied on his own by following his interests. Basically, I made myself as a Sim. 😂 It was cool how realistic the experience turned out.

those glitches happen to me all the time when playing the criminal career!!!!! I love having evildoers in my game but it’s just so frustrating when they leave work in the middle of the shift or the game doesn’t register them being at work😭😭 I’m so glad I’m not alone

It was nothing serious but he'd almost 12 so every time they have to sedate him, I think: "What if Teddy doesn't wake up?" And that just sends me spiralling. He's my best friend who has saved me from a severe depression. So when I saw that Ryan had posted, it just meant the world to me. It meant I could think about something else and laugh. ❤️‍🩹

The glitch with the criminal career is a glitch happening with careers that have working hours span over two different days. The game gets a bit confused. The other career that sometimes can have this issue is the medical one, but it seems to be mostly happening to the criminal career. I think I read some ways to "fix" it, but mostly it's taking an unpaid day off while waiting for the next day of actual work, or just resetting the entire town with nraas Master Controller. I have noticed that it fixes itself eventually, especially with the next promotion.

Pro tip: if you're looking for a specific sim go to the relationship panel and left-click on their portrait. The camera will focus in on whatever sim you're hunting. *I do have Nraas Portrait Panel installed, so that may be the reason I'm able to do that. Please correct if that's false. Just trying to help Ryan out!

I use Lazy Duchess's shader tweaks to fix the lighting and that awful bloom + nraas overwatch and error trap for performance issues :D

Criminal career is crazy buggy unfortunately. There's a workaround for the scheduling issue/performance not going up (but it does go DOWN if you don't go in) at rank 3: use a sick/vacation day. From rank 4 and up, there's another glitch that will say "Going to work" until Midnight (it starts at 9PM). Performance will also not go up until Midnight. Yet ANOTHER glitch that can mess with the "Going to Work" and performance gain issue is if your NPC boss is late/not at work/leaves early. If they're not there, sometimes you just won't get a performance gain. It will also lock out Opportunities from popping up/finishing until the boss is there.

One time a sim asked my sim for a date, she said yes, went to the date location, said hi to the other sim and he left for work while saying "well... looks like someone has more important things to do" yeah honey, you apparently

There are lights in Buydebug mode, I’m pretty sure they are in the miscellaneous category and they look like squares, rectangles and circles. ( I haven’t played the sims 3 in a long long time so I might be wrong) they are invisible when you get out of build and buy. You just do the ctrl shift c thing and do testingcheatsenabled and then do the ctrl shift c thing and type buydebug On. the O needs to be capitalized (I have no clue if that made any sense, sorry!)

I think there are some lighting adjustment mods on Mod The Sims. Usually if you do a quick search, the first results should be some decent mods. (in my experience)

Yeah you gotta use mods to make the game stable. I think it's nrass. There are guides online that'll help you. If you play the base game for long enough it'll eventually start running out of memory as too many objects in the world are engaged in activity off screen.

Just played an evil Empress of Evil and it's fun. But the criminal career is buggy. A lot of times you aren't supposed to work but your performance meter goes down. You can go into work but you get nothing, but at least it stops your performance from draining. Annoying but you can work with it once you know. We'll see what happens to you.... EDIT 15:15 yep

I am currently doing almost the same playthrough, except my sim is also a witch who likes to put everything on fire. Can confirm all of the issues above with the career. It is also a bit boring, like a reskinned office job. But, it is fun when you get quests to travel and smuggle stuff into different countries or learn Chinese martial arts. I was thinking about trying out the burglar career mod, if this even works.

@@blackthorn7298 I got a mother and daughter to be Emperor of Evil at the same time. That's funny. Also I had them invest a lot and they bought the museum. So when they get expensive stuff from the job it goes in the museum. All the rabbit hole careers have no interaction, but I'm okay with that. If you have one firefighter or PI or architect in the household, that's a lot of work. I will always have the others get rabbit hole jobs.

I'm looking forward for a video of you reviewing your adhd medication. I never took Ritalin/Adderall although I have a severe case of adhd. Somehowwww pulled it together and handed my bachelor thesis on time with no medication but it was heavily relying on my roommate shaming me every day for not doing enough. I weirdly asked him to do it as well to get things done. However the thought in the back of my mind keeps coming up as to how much easier it would've been if I had just taken the meds. I guess the challenge of getting things done with no meds maybe gives me more dopamine? Fact stays that I'm being toxic to myself 🙃

Damn, I admire your resolve, but I hope you can cut yourself some slack now that uni is behind you x) I managed to finish my course, probably by the skin of my teeth cus one of my essays was submitted on the last possible deadline. I only started taking the idea I could have ADHD really seriously after I left though, but I wish the possibility had crossed my mind sooner. It's never too late to get medicated! We all have our own path to take and I hope yours gets easier the further down you get!
