From my understanding the hate towards this little man is purely from the game Marvel Rivals. In the comics he is great he was first a minion of MODOK Superior but was then adopted by Gwen Pool and has fun with the rest of the young west coast avengers ( who is made of younger heroes such as Kate Bishop ). He is amazing!! But in the game he has kinda a busted ability in low levels where he can do alot of AOE damage and swallow enemies or allies and launch them ( very Kirby coded ). And can like escape a fight. So he is just busted in the game so people hate him. He however is adorable and I hope he makes it into the new young avengers movie! ( I know it would be different than comics but I feel Kate Bishop could be the one to adopt him )

In case you're not in the know about the games community. The hate against Jeff is all just a big joke. He's a really good support, so most people jokingly say he's the most hated because you usually have to get him down quickly. However, any hate you see against Scarlet Witch has a good chance of not being a joke because people get annoyed when a character has auto aim (and the children that play the game then go online to have rage fits about it)

Jeff is originally from the West Coast Avengers book from Kelly Thompson. In that book MODOK had set up shop on the coast, and made an army of land sharks. Gwenpoole found Jeff and adopted him as her pet. Though being the mischievous little guy he is, he just goes around the marvel universe and stays with whoever he wants to at the moment, Deadpool, Hawkeye, and so on.

In case anyone needs this in the off chance they run into Jeff: Grilled Gulf Bull Shark 4 bull shark steaks 4 tbsp soy sauce 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar 1/2 cup lemon juice 4 tbsp olive oil 2 tbsp chopped cilantro 2 cloves minced garlic 1 tsp black ground pepper 4 scallions, chopped Combine soy sauce, vinegar, lemon juice, oil, parsley, garlic and pepper. Pour over steaks. Marinate for 30 mins, turing once half way through. Remove fish, reserve marinade. Grill on medium about 5 mins per side or until the internal temperature of the shark steak is 145 degrees. Use a Thermapen for instant reading while grilling. Brush with marinade before turning. Serve with saffron rice and mango salsa (see recipe).

He's actually pretty well liked by most people, at least in the comic community. My understanding, as someone who doesn't play Rivals, is that the reason he's "most hated" is just that's his card is a little busted and thus a bit annoying when you have to fight him.

the hate is 80% jokes. In the game he is insane good support so you have to rush and get rid of him as fast as you can if he isn't in your team and protect him at all costs if he is cuz he is gonna get swarmed immediately. He do be a bit broken and they should definitely nerf the guy a bit. But it's mostly jokes. In the comics he is just a silly lil guy. He is an experiment made by M.O.D.O.K. He mostly hangs with Gwen Pool (og owner who saved him from MODOK), Deadpool (given to him cuz Gwen was scared she wouldn't get another series and Jeff would "die") and i'm pretty sure someone else owns him now. One time he got Venom'ed. In the comics he doesn't have the same powers as in-game. He is just a silly guy who can breathe underwater as well as in land and brings chaos wherever he goes. He is in a few Deadpool comics, the West Coast Avengers and i believe (but could be wrong) a Spiderman comic where Gwen Pool and the other WCAvengers are featured. But now he has his own solo series called "It's Jeff!"

No joke, when you were using the darker shade I genuinely thought it was on purpose until you said otherwise. I often purposely go a shade or two darker than I want to on my initial base coats because darker paint often covers better, and can make edges pop more if you do later layers of the intended lighter color not quite up to that edge. And if some of it shows through... eh, free shading.

For Jeff’s story, the West Coast Avengers were dealing with a bunch of mutated land sharks, after they manage to stop the Shiver of Land Sharks at a circus tent, GwenPool walks over to them, tells them not to freak out, as Jeff walks in, living his best life, and GwenPool said “This is mine, I’m taking this with me.” Marvel didn’t really do a lot with Jeff’s character during those stories, but some time later, GwenPool realized that her comic was going to be forgotten about soon, and Jeff will be in danger of being forgotten as well, so she gave him to Deadpool because she herself knows that nobody will forget Deadpool, some time later after that and there’s even a moment where Deadpool crossdressed as GwenPool to cheer Jeff up when he’s feeling sad and wanting GwenPool to come back. Some time later, Marvel brought out “It’s Jeff!”, with Jeff as a little chunky round boi doing “mundane” things with almost everybody around him, he tries out costumes with GwenPool and Kate Bishop, he swims in a pool with the Avengers and even scares them all with the idea of a shark in the pool, he takes the items of a lot of the Avengers to become “Jeff The Avenger” and beats all of them in a fight, and many many more, also he’s not technically the pet of GwenPool or Kate Bishop, he’s more of a “free agent” pet to put it bluntly, almost everyone takes care of him.

Jeff the Land Shark is from the comic books. He is a baby from a race of land sharks that were created by AIM, a sort of guild for evil scientists. He was originally supposed to be a one-off joke character, but he proved so popular with the fans that what was supposed to be a running gag ended with the first instance of the running gag. There is a character in the West Coast Avengers named Gwenpool, and no, she is not an alternate version of Deadpool based on Gwen Stacy. She's a person from our world who is able to abuse her knowledge that she is in a comic book universe in ways that make it seem like she has powers. Anyway, there was supposed to be a running gag where every so often, Gwen would show up with a new pet, and the pets would always be named Jeff. The first Jeff was a baby land shark from the species created by the mad scientists at AIM. Fans loved him, and he has been growing in prominence ever since. There is a whole series of short, funny/adorable comics about him that you can "read" in various KZbin videos. Note: Squirrel Girl was also supposed to be a one-off joke character that stuck around because she proved popular with the fans.

As far as I know this boy has not graces Didney's silver screen yet. Theres a character called Gwenpool who like Deadpool, is self aware of the fact shes in a comic, but in her case its cause shes legitimately from the real world. She often works with a side branch of the Avengers, and one time they fought a fleet of land sharks. One of her tropes is attempting to adopt any animal or small monster she sees, and Jeff is just the one who stuck around. Hes incredibly powerful on account of the fact that he keeps eating any ancient artifacts or objects of supreme power he comes in contact with.

I'd say he's lacking some things: like the lift surfaces whitch all sharks need to swim in some form or other . . and despite what it seems sharks have TWO dorsal fins, sometimes of similar size, sometimes one way smaller but it's never just the one like dolphins have . . last thing that's missing is the tail ridge . . yes that ridge on the sides . . cetaceans also have have tail ridge just on the top and bottom instead of left and right as it moves up and down instead of sideways
