I Made the Silliest Brush Build in Side Order... and it Works?!?

What happens if you max the range chips on the brush in splatoon 3's Side Order DLC? I tried it, and it's surprisingly good. Better than you might think even. However, to get it to work I had to create some... interesting synergies...

Fun fact: ink attack size is more effective on brush than pretty much any other weapon, lol. Because it's multiplicative, its value comes entirely from how big the starting hitboxes for a weapon are (it's near useless on charger for example), and brush just has one of the best hitboxes for it. The only thing better is splatana, with hitboxes that extend out a good few meters in every direction when maxed out

I think the idea of Ink Mine on brush could be funny in multiplayer, with the brush sneaking behind enemy lines and dropping them in inconvenient locations to slow down the opposing team. No clue what they were thinking for Side Order though XD

3:40 A very abridged explanation: In the game's lore, the color chips are like fragments of octolings' memories that were taken from them when they were sanitatied during Octo expansion. Marina programmed the memverse in a way to where as an octoling climbs the tower completing objectives, they can search for and pick out their own memories from the rest.

Piercing is genuinely the single best chip in the game, broken on every single weapon. to varying degrees but still it’s a must-have if you want to not be overwhelmed by hordes. I didn’t come across it in my super powerful Splatling run recently and despite the amazing dps I struggled with crowds because I had no Piercing

not broken on chargers as they have semi infinite pierce at base and it can actually be bad on blaster if you go a range build but want to hit things closer to you more easily

I mean, according to the wiki "Side Order" is another term for 'side dish', so the chips being edible isn't too far of a stretch; plus I think there was a line of dialogue mentioning that color chips are derived from mem cakes (or something like it?) Not gonna lie for me they seem like they'd have the same surface texture as sand-tumbled glass, with an inside of somewhat-soft gummy. Can you tell I've been a little hungry?

apparently, according to another comment i saw they said that the colour chips were like fragments of octolings memories, and they could collect them and retrieve them back. Marina made the memverse to hopefully recover octolings so i’m not sure how they would taste….

I did a run with 2000% knock back on the splatling and you could kill with a knockoff from center stage. I also found out that rush speed and knock back apply to stamp, which makes for a very chaotic run

I watched this video, and I watched another video where someone else completed a run with just the sprinkler sub. It is impressive how flexible Side Order ended up being in allowing any combination of weapon/sub/palette/etc. to just work as long as you have skill and patience lol.

i’m pretty sure parallel canon is the main inkling(?) (the one with the hair and does the splashdown) and all the others are essentially drones that the main one is controlling. so it would be the one boss plus their “minions”

Comment part two also: If you've never had max Rush Attack chips on Ultra Stamp (that's 10 whole chips), the damage output for each bonk is 10,000. It insta-kills basically everything and shreds Smollusk in less than a second even in the final phase. Absolutely busted. Would recommend.

I once got a dualie with 6 dodge rolls that regenerated like 5% of their ink tank with each dodge roll and did an attack during them so I could just infinitely roll into enemies and never run out of ink while also killing them

I actually didn't mind mine being on brush, I could use it the mess with the jellotons then just swing 😂 does extra well opening up the portal area for ya to do some damage Edit: came in kinda clutch along with hammer on my hackless run ngl

i think the annoying thing is another bomb would be just as good if not better at opening up the portal area without requiring you to swim right in there. it also doesn't help the issue of brush being a melee range weapon
