It certainly beats sewing row after row of 1 in webbing lol. For my plate carriers, the shoulder straps are always a pain. For lightweight and comfy shoulder pads or sleeves, I basically copied the Mayflower/ velocity systems examples. Just use a softer type material like 50/50 nycon or similar blends and add thin neoprene like 3 mm for the padding. It looks like you have an awesome design so far.

Just food for thought, you should make the shoulder straps longer and go further down the the body to help share the load and make the contact point stronger. Keep up the good work form Texas.

My favorite camo only comes in 300D PU coated polyester. According to your experience, is it good for moderate use to carry 8 kg of equipment?

Very cool! Of the carriers I've tried I really appreciate an elastic cummerbund and shoulder straps as close to the neck as possible (as you have them here) as this allows a rifle to be shouldered without interfering with the plate itself. Some thin padding with channels for venting body heat on the inside are also appreciated for long term comfort but not necessary. Well done!

Personally I hate laser cut when it's anything to do with molle. It's just so annoying to deal with and attach things to. Sure it works, it's lighter but I'd still choose to run my avs over any laser cut pc just because of the webbing. It's still really neat though, and the fact you can do real quick prototyping is huge. Same thing when it comes to 3d printing, the fact you can just make a bunch of prototypes quickly, iterate on them is literally the best thing. I think using a laser cut machine to work out some different designs and then using traiditional molle webbing is the best imo.

@ripperkon Great prototype for a 2h work! Where can someone (me :D) get Laminated CONCAMO cordura for a similar DYI project? Do you still collaborate with Concamo?

I am so interested in getting into making chest rigs, carriers, etc. but I have no idea what machines would suffice. Do you have any suggestions for lasers or sewing machines?

Ahoi. Bin voll begeistert!
