Wait, so Luton is actually the name of a place or town? I thought it was just the name of an airport, like Gatwick and Heathrow. I think this “joke” video will have fell massively short. People just get a plane ticket to London. Nobody knows where the different airports are. As soon as you get off the plane then you just get a transfer to the city centre. Wouldn’t make any difference to anyone which of the 3 airports you actually landed it. It’s irrelevant 🤦♂️
@mikkelbreiler89162 жыл бұрын
@@isyt1 Now when I travel to London which I have done once a year between 2010 and 2019, I always select Heathrow, because it is simple to get your luggage and go downstair and sit in the dark blue Piccadily Line train all the way to central London. I get off at Holborn and transfer to Central line to go to the station on Tottenham Crt Rd and then by foot to St. Giles hotel which is one of the most affordable hotels right next to Soho. I will admit with full luggage carrying all my souvenirs I elect to pay 65UKP for a cab to take me to the airport so I will not have to move the now heavy suitcases around manually. Also it makes sure we get to the airport on time. As Max' research quickly showed him doing this at Heathrow will not work, but people on the affected flights landing in Gatwick airport forget teh captain and cabin crews welcome message when their journey started and perhaps never paid any attention to messages about local time and weather at Gatwaick airport. I try to pay attention so I will know to put on a jacket or just tuck it into my backpack.

I was on one of those plane during the prank, and I can still remember the few minutes before landing very clearly... I am not an English speaking native. I was on a trip to Lonywith a few friends. My English is not the best (hence why we thought the trip would be fun) and I don't at all know any geography about great Britain except a city or two... So, when I saw the sigh, I genuinely questioned myself as if, during flight reservation, I did not mistaken London, with Luton... I managed to cometely miss the warning as I am not active on social media, and since I did not ask to the flight waitress either, I have spent the remaining flight minutes imaginating how I would tell my friends I made an error and we are in God knows where in the middle of England...

The key to a good practical joke is to match the joke to the victim. This is a textbook example of doing it right. A low-key worry of every traveller is to end up in the wrong place. And Luton's reputation and vicinity and you have a believable scenario. it goes just far enough to give people that momentary jolt of panic, but is harmless enough that most people will laugh afterwards.

All the 'prank' channels that have ever existed-- THIS is a prank. The joke being so small and silly is contrasted to the amount of creative effort he had to put in which makes it really funny to see the outcome and people's reactions. I like pranks that don't harm unsuspecting innocents. Anyone actually upset-confused here would have been properly reassured by airport/flight staff that they are on the right flight. @Lipstick Nista If it's their first time arriving at the UK, then they could think Luton is a neighbourhood, or an adjacent town, could be a seasonal celebration or cultural event, a first timer would have no idea, and even someone in the know would ask the stewardess... panic attack? Leave that to the Americans and the mentally frail part of their society.
@justdoit-ys9hh2 жыл бұрын
@Lipstick Nista rounding a corner can theoretically give someone a panic attack, i mean literally anything can give you a panic attack under the wrong cicumstance, this is not a harmful prank, and you should not hold yourself back from doing something for the microscopic chance that it results in misfortune for you or another, imagine we couldn't buy cake because someone with an allergy might buy it, it would be completely logical as we don't require cake to subsist and it in fact hinders our health, but the problem is you can just as easily invert the problem, what if we didn't buy a cake which causes us to have low blood sugar, in short any choice you make comes with it the possibility that your actions negatively affect others and the simple fact that there is a theoretical chance of that will always exist for every choice we make, including ones we don't realize.

I was flying to Gatwick June 2022 and saw it, shat myself but then I laughed really hard on the plane while checking my phone's gps that it wasn't actually true.

This stunt was marvelously silly, but not as silly as having to wear hi viz, boots and a hard hat to look at a bit of open ground.

It's evidently a construction site. It all seems silly until someone gets killed.
