The blade is made using the San Mai technique and is lined with very fine stainless mesh. Layers from the center, permoloy (iron alloy 50% + nickel 50%), mild steel, stainless mesh, titanium (separator), consumable steel. More work with such a grid can be seen in the video at the link. • Blue Blade of stainles...

On my patreon page, I began to explain the processes and secrets of my work. Topics already covered:
1. Why do I add pepper to container Damascus steel.
2. What do I sprinkle? Flux and its composition.
3. How do I remove the container from the workpiece (container Damascus steel).
4. Why am I drilling a hole in a container.
5. Why do I sweep away the dross from the anvil with my hand.
6. Why do I first forge some blanks on a tree.
7. In what and why do I soak the blank before forging.
8. In which granules do I place the workpiece after forging.
9. What kind of white powder do I pour into the container.
10. In what liquid do I develop the pattern on the blade.

@@wesrandecker It's a joke. When heating up plant matter that much all that is left over is pretty much just carbon. and steel is just a combination of iron and carbon; he's basically just increasing the steels carbon content.

That’s to help keep the outer case (holds all the material, mainly Damascus) from sticking to what your actually using…if you watch some of the videos you can see the “tip” ballooning and peeling off. It’s usually a comical addition to the video…but I feel like it actually helps - organic materials like plants turn to carbon, unless your melting that metal to a liquid, that carbon will stay between layers stopping it from bonding

I’m always fascinated by the tea sequence. Here in the US, our experience with tea is extremely limited (most Americans only think of the tea that comes in the pouch, poured over ice and piled with a heap of sugar). I do wish that Dmytro would put a caption on the screen to tell us exactly what he’s having for tea…
