Thank you for this!! All your videos on "How to Feed Chickens" are chock full of great info &ideas. Wish I hadn't just bought an Instant Pot...Food Ninja sounds VERY intriguing. I LOVED the Short with Lucy & Matty feeding sweet corn to your hens! Those are lucky, well fed chickens!!

Hey, Drew! I would apologize for bothering you w/comments, but I heard on Garden Viking that comments help the channel, no matter what. So here goes again!! I put my hens on POWDERED MILK and that source of calcium fortified w/ vit A & D has been successful!

Annie I love reading your comments! I watch his channel too I will try that. My only source of calcium for the chickens has been crushed egg shells I feed back to them.

@@onceuponatinyfarm WOW, Drew, you get that amazing result with only their eggshells?!?! I was feeding eggshells back to the hens and I was surprised at how well it worked. Then I ran out of their eggshells and started oyster shell made into pellets and their laying went to almost ZERO! The dairy was worked well, in a panic I even bought Greek Yogurt for them. My eggs are expensive!! But the ladies (7 1/2 mos old) are laying an egg each every day for the first time.

What type of calcium supplement do you feed your hens? My hens are WAY DOWN in egg production, a NASTY rooster who no longer walks the earth, was part of the problem according to your video "Why I got Rid of My Roosters" BUT I am suspicious that I have an inferior calcium supplement brand "Coastal" that does not say it is primarily oyster shell. THANK YOU for all your great info!!

P.S. I went back and found out your pot is a Ninja Foodie. I never heard of a pot you can bake banana bread in! I like the idea of sweet potato cooked right in with the rice & beans.... bet carrots would work, too

@@anniebancroft1175 oh absolutely we’ve roasted squash in there, you can also use the dehydrator setting or even make yogurt with the yogurt setting

P.S. Forgot to ask you what are any and all supplements you feed your GORGEOUS HEALTHY HENS!!! Mine are definitely lagging behind. I finally got micronized Azomite on the way. I want to try L.A.B.S Steve Cornett talks about for hens/ any animals

The whole reason I bought his course was because I was interested in LAbs and I still haven’t tried that yet! I only feed them black soldier fly larvae and food scraps.
