It's so refreshing hearing African women speak like this. For so long standards for marriage were so low and they kinda still are, but seeing more and more African women say "I DESERVE IT ALL!" Love and stability is refreshing. Unhappiness happens in both poverty and riches. To assume that to marry a poor man means you will receive true love and to marry a rich man means automatic loveless marriage is unrealistic. Seek both stability and love. That is not unrealistic. I totally agree with what you said when you marry a dependable man the love will over choke. The love for my husband grows every minute when I see how he just handles everything for our family with so much ease and grace. Thank God I didn’t marry for butterflies in my tummy. Just sleeping knowing that everything is handled and taken care of without even having to ask or worry. And those occasional spoiling and pampering is the ultimate goal in life

Hi darling girl!!! You said it all. These things make so much sense. But, sometimes you don't see the warning signs!!! Sometimes also these men are good, then all of a sudden they chang. To me , the main thing in a man with ambition, potential, respect and comfortable life and the one that will think for the whole family while I'm sleeping, I will won't lie to you. And also not ugly cus ,I don't want to have scary kids. Thank goodness, my husband is good looking white guy, very caring with tone of values. You are right. My case was slightly different. When I married, my hubby did not have shishi 😅 , though I come from a relatively comfortable home, but he checked other boxes for me--- was hard working, I was priority to him, when the kids came you wouldn't hear him make two sentences without " my family this my family that" I know some other people will not take the step to go into marriage with the financial state then. But thank God we both are where we are now. Presently in Canada and living a much better life now.

I knew someone who used to be the sponsor in her relationship because in her words “she loves him”…they got married and she became frustrated because he didn’t get any better she continued to bear burdens and pay bills(rent,feeding ,upkeep and children’ fees) because he became used to her doing them which is so bad until she lost her life due to high B.p 😢😢 I just wish she we could turn the hands of time

I think to put what Nazom is saying into other words… don’t marry for love, marry someone you CAN love. Even the Bible doesn’t say you should marry who you love. But it does say you must love who you marry. I've not reached the stage of marriage but I feel like the arguement is more nuanced. Because once you say marry for money full stop you can suffer in a different way. I have a father that is quite comfortable and also quite attentive to us. All the qualities you mentioned are part of what make you love a person in my opinion so last last its still love or at least potential love. I agree with you because there is something deeper in your statements than just marry anyhow for money. As someone who grew up comfortable as well I can not enter and marry someone who will change my lifestyle but some people will interpret it as only 🤑. Obviously love aline can't sustain a marriage but people in a loveless marriage will tell you say that one too get problem

There was a lady who passed of depression because she married someone who was rich but not there. She had everything I mean everything Bank card always with her even the business card with her but hubby nowhere to be found... He will always tell her don't you have everything you wanted and want and he will leave her alone most of the times and the man who sincerely want to marry her with just comfortable life married another person and he was very happy and she regreted but not easy to leave the riches and she ended up passing on due to unhappiness yet having and driving whatever car she wanted
