I lost my mother to Pancreatic cancer aged 54 and then my brother (only sibling) to motor neurone disease aged 47. I don’t know why but I went into a spiral of depression for approximately 8 months. On a daily basis, I just wanted to join them but I also knew I didn’t want my son to not have a mother. It was a daily battle to get through each day and somewhere along the line I pulled myself out of it. In hindsight, I wish I had seeked help earlier instead of putting myself and husband through this period of my life. I am good now and one positive that has come from it, is how the empathy I have for others is genuine.

Beautiful People. It's truly amazing what a kind word or touch will do. I'm 70 years now. Many years ago I was talking to a therapist/counselor who told me that I didn't look anything like you would expect a depressed person to look. He also said he had learned you can't tell by whether a person looks "put together." There'd been a well-liked, put-together looking woman at his church who had committed suicide. I love people who look for what's inside others. And literally anyone could use kindness anyway. It doesn't take much time and isn't any trouble. Just do it.

@@apatheticaesthetic2152 a person is not depressed because they lack drugs! a depressed person must connect with God via the Bible and church/its people for direction/encouragement; eat/drink the proper foods/drinks to keep the mind/body stable; avoid certain items like drugs/alcohol/smoking etc which make things worse; and take vitamins/minerals daily to get the body/mind to a stable level and KEEP it there. been there, done that and THESE ARE the items that worked for me.

Poppy to commemorate the dead of British wars since WWI (some of the battlefields had poppies growing, and a major charity sells poppy badges to help veterans). Lisa are you under 35?
@SandiBee-rf3teАй бұрын
In the UK and Canada (maybe other Commonwealth countries as well, I’m not sure) the poppy is worn in the days leading up to November 11, (Remembrance Day) which is a day to reflect and commemorate the losses of all wars. The poppy is significant because of the poem In Flanders Fields written by a Canadian doctor, John McRae, who wrote it after a friend died in battle in World War I. Dr. McRae later died in hospital of pneumonia, due to the effects of battle on his health.
