To anyone wondering why, "I May Destroy You" is not nominated for the Golden Globes but "Emily in Paris" did is because the producers of "Emily in Paris" would fly the HFPA judges to Paris and send them to expensive holidays near their set. Even the judges admitted that they were being treated like, "kings and queens". And remember, HFPA judges determine which shows will be nominated for a Golden Globe.

Don't let it annoy you. Award shows, in particular the Globes, have shown throughout the past several years how out of touch they are and how little they know about true beauty in art. At this point, getting annoyed or upset at a golden globe snub is like getting annoyed that the MTV movie awards snubbed an actually good film. These award shows are completely obsolete now and I'm so glad that in my lifetime they'll probably cease to exist; at least in their current format that is.
@lotussight3 жыл бұрын
Most shows that get nominated have to a lot of socialising and networking behind the scenes especially the people that are arranging the awards. People that worked on I May Destroy You may not have the time for such nonsense and as long as people enjoy the art of this show, then that's it ❤️

What I would say is that - your comment is very good - and it is precisely this, that OP has a particular talent for being able to hit the right nerve (or series of nerves), and we must allow for the possibility that it is precisely that talent that "rustles the jimmies." If OP gave no reaction to people being not precise, we would not see such averse reactions. quite literally, it is the case in point that the proposition "we can not have a sane conversation with a person who is not sane", (which I attribute to my mother)........and, from whence it comes. I myself am prodromal - so this is not an attempt to be ableist, either. Any conversation with me may be speculatively sane or not sane, however, I have a particular talent for recognizing and compartmentalizing when others toxicity makes me want to throw monkey-poo ;-) Thank you for your comment. All the blessings, friend.

She doesn't fit into a standard mold, structure or narrative. Boys club. She's not a white woman. Possibly being "too much" of something or "not enough" of something else. The judges or panel of voters didn't get wined and dined at all, or to their liking. Not enough promoting. Politics. Could be one of many reasons or all the above.

What is this clip about? In my opinion, it's about calling out narcissistic behavior and drawing the line in the sand for what you will take from abusers. About setting appropriate boundaries after you wake up and see peoples' behavior for exactly what it is and not being societies scapegoat. Society has snubbed this because society is overall narcissistic in nature and doesn't want to be called out or change their behavior. It thrives off of denial and deflection. 💜🧡💚 that's my opinion, anyways.

the monologue is about how predators sometimes violate their victims by finding and using "gray areas", i.e. doing things that aren't clear, definite crimes or obviously violent, thus blurring the line between what's okay and what's not. it's super destructive because they tend to use this absence of definition and clarity to trick victims, justice and specially themselves into failing to identify abusive behaviour, and so they're able to continue preying so without facing any consequence whatsoever
