@@nikhisiripuram Looks like you wasn't aware of Shankar's late 90s and early 2k classics. And the term "simple story line" can't fits to Shankar. His films mostly deals with politics, corruption, human psychology and he never tries over the top action scenes and masala flicks like his fellow directors. His films like jeans, endhiran and 2.0 literally started new phases in Indian cinema.

Story is different storyline is different.. what is madhuvalan about? What happens when commen man becomes CM, enthiran- what happens when robot have feelings and become rogue, anniyan- frustrated guy develops MPD, and punish people who do wrong, boys- a group of young people grow as big independent band, jeans- two twins fall in love with same girl. They developed these story lines into proper films, they aren't a complex one like KV Anand, Vikram kumar films who run their films on thin storylines that's why they have flops.. Shankar have few, where as rajamouli solely depends on story only two or three films of his have simple story line..like eega and maryada ramanna

Short story.. Vikram wants to become a Mr.Tamilnadu in state body building competition.. so he trained hard himself.. meanwhile he is attracted completely with the super model Amy and got mad about her(song placement🎶 1-Mersalaayitten)... Later he won Mr.Tamilnadu title.. after the title.. many modelling opportunities comes to vikram's hand.. he taken and used those opportunities well.. worked as male model with Amy.. there he gained some enemies who got jealous with his look and career growth (co model, add agency owner and a make up artist). Director of this movie, Shankar is considered one of the best directors in India. Known to combine commercial elements beautifully to a message oriented movie. Definitely one of my favourite directors. This film was a disappointment for me for the first time among all his other movies. He never had an absolute flop in his entire career. Most are super hits and a few are average. This being among the very few average ones even though Vikram went above and beyond to portray various characters in this movie. Definitely check out Director Shankar’s work. His other works include Robot, 2.0, Indian, Aparichit(Anniyan) and many more.

All of Shankar's films directed by him have ladies in very creative costumes. He conceptualizes each song and his films are always the most sought when it releases. Kinda like the Christopher Nolan type of hype in India!

Tbh the movie isn't bad. It's just that some people had really high expectations from the trailer which were basically action scenes and snippets from the songs for the most part. For eg. if you had watched Ennodu nee irundhaal and had gone to watch the movie after that, obviously you'd expect it to be something related to a beast and fantastic creatures. That's all😂👌👌✨✨

Shankar is a visionary director... His movie endhiran inspired Avengers director when they filmed age of Ultron His penchant for visual effects can be seen right from his first debut movie gentleman where prabhu deva dances and those CGI arrow hitting on the lady One of my colleague worked in movie anniyan as the computer programmer in the movie where he helps trace anniyan. My frnd says he is an absolute perfectionist and a task master. Offlate his movies are dud. But he is still an amazing director who took Indian cinema to a whole new level

Prabhudeva's urvashi song is from his film... they build a bus for that song... rajnikanth turned white for one song... kamalhassan turned into a monitor lizard and climbs a building vertically in one song... aishwarya rai's hologram or robot dance is there...
