I 100% agree with you. I’ve seen pics of the Grand Canyon all my life also in movies and tv but the time we actually went there and I stood on the side of it I had no words that could express how beautiful it was and the whole scope of it all was just insane. I can talk all day about it but never get to express the feeling and meaning of being there in person. Hope your foot is ok and the puppy is going to sleep for days LOL.

Allways good to see you all! I got a little bit worried when Akela ate the avocado - the shell and the avocadocore/nut is really bad for dogs and could at worse kill them. Im sure you had it under controll and that she is such a smart girl that she only eats the good stuff :)

Beautiful video, and Akela is adorable! I don't know if it has already been mentioned, but it's very important to be careful hiking (and especially sleeping) in these canyons when there's rainy weather. Flash floods can be very deadly. Heavy rains (usually several miles away) collect and channel very quickly, and the water level will go from a few inches deep to many yards deep in the narrows in a matter of minutes. The water moves fast and picks up debris like dead branches along the way. Flash floods are also nearly silent, so you don't get much warning and there aren't a lot of places to get up and out of the way even if you do hear it. Take care, and great job on the videos!
@Linneaandakela3 жыл бұрын
Yes! We are very familiar with this from living in the desert for years. Unfortunately, we planned on doing Buckskin Gultch the previous week but the weather was just a bit too iffy for us, so we never ended up experiencing that hike. We had been watching the weather intently and read up more about this canyon specifically before taking it on. Thanks for the concern!
@CusiQ3 жыл бұрын
@@Linneaandakela Excellent. Not everyone realizes the risks in that situation. Also, glad you talked about adequate hydration. Multiple times I've seen people setting out onto the Buckskin/Wire Pass/Wave trailhead (nevermind Pariah) mid-day and completely unprepared - such as one tiny bottle of water in 110 degree heat. SMH =)

I love that you and your brother hike together. You have a wonderful family and seem very close to them. It is nice to see healthy families as so many people have awful relationships with their family members . I'll never forget, in a classroom of 60+ people, the professor asked us something. She asked us to raise our hand if we were happy with our family of origin. I was sadly the only one that raised my hand. I felt sad for them.
