Every time I listen to a rake/wendigo/fleshgait story it makes me so hyped for Antlers to come out. Looks like the best skinwalker/wendigo movie we’ve ever been given, plus it’s guillermo del toro so it’s gonna rock. If you watch the trailer you can see a flash of the thing with human skin on its face, But it’s got the appearance of a dnd wendigo, not the more traditional pale humanoid/fleshgait look. Hope it does well so we get more fleshgait-ish monster movies. If you haven’t watched the trailer yet and you love skinwalker/fleshgait stories then def go check it out.

Amazing narration and story choice as always. My first thought was "that's totally 80s". Cousins running blockbuster by mail decades earlier than others would think to do so, all the references to VHS tapes they had to review to make sure they got back what was sent out. But there was more than that. The waterbed wall a key part of the era. Waterbed, lava lamps, and having to view the material for hijinks or self promotion. Made me laugh and the time I spent there....and I still have the lava lamp.

Also, this sounds like "House of the Rising Sun. The narrator is telling his tale of life in his small town, how people change, but some things always stay the same. When he discovered what an unholy areas he's, gets out how he could and runs. This is what I see as the Rising Sun's entry into the tale. No matter where he runs, he knows that he must face eventually, accept his destiny for will or woe and face his responsibilities. "I'm goin' back to New Orleans To wear that ball and chain"
