Hi Jimmy, thank you for showing the B-52 580183. I was one of the lucky ones to be able to crew that exact Bomber. She was stationed at Castle AFB. I was assigned to that bomber as a Crew Chief during the late 80’s and early to mid 90’s.

Thats super cool. I was in the usaf from 87-91, got out just after desert storm. I was stationed at raf alconbury, uk, (A10a), and then hill AFB, ut, (F16c), i was 462x0, aircraft armament systems specialist, but u knew us as "weapons troops". I was glad i didnt have the experience to work on the buffs, but i worked with some that had and heard all the horor stories from Guam. The A10a was by far my fav, and i started flying RC back in those days, and still do, and coincidentally just bought an A10 rc electric ducted fan, (technology has come so far), as a tribute to my warthog days. Its in the pope AFB grey color scheme and tail markings as i couldnt find a woodland green one like we flew in USAFE. I have a few videos on my channel, but hit me up fellow airman, if ya wanna connect. I partied with a lot of crew chiefs back in the day.

My wife's uncle Lt.Col. Donald White flew a B26 Marauder in WW2,then later flew a Jetstar out of Andrews in the LBJ administration. He often flew VP Humphrey to the LPJ ranch in Texas.I had the honor of sitting in the Jetstar cockpit on base directly accross from the cordoned off AF1. Watching your video brought back many memories. Have you every been to Wright-Pat in Dayton? If not you have to check it out.

Jimmy. I was a mechanic on a TB-58 Hustler right out of tech school ( 5615 OMS) at the age of 19 at Edwards AFB in 1964-1966. Those J-79's where called converters because they changed fuel into sound. They consumed fuel at take off at the rate of 47,000 lbs each per hour times 4 in full afterburner. The TB-58 always flew with the belly fuel tank and was chase for the XB-70. The best days of my life in the USAF.

It's been a while since I've been to Pima. I sure miss working on the Tomcat in the 80s. They used our squadron, VF-51 to provide the aircraft for the movie Top Gun. We had to paint our planes up as other squadrons and many of us were used as an extra in the movie. I have to say, Val was pretty cool to talk to. Nice guy.

So back in high school (90s) one of my math teachers (he was a genius) Mr. Klessel, yeah he was an SR-71 pilot, retired. He was maybe 5'4", solid as a rock, had the fastest comebacks of anyone I knew back then.. probably one of the smartest men I've ever met even today.. what a great man, humble and cool.. he had some amazing stories.. what a neat job and to have graced hundreds (maybe thousands but I come from a VERY small town) of kids with his knowledge.. Had him for algebra then trig.. yeah he knew his numbers and he made us all learn how to use a slide rule even though calculators were a thing.. yeah man he was cool as Hell.

Pima was the first place I’d ever seen an SR-71, back in 2021. I’ve always loved researching military aircraft especially the Blackbird, but that trip sparked my interest in aviation. I started on my PPL in July of this year, and I’m hoping to go commercial eventually!

I can always get my aviation fix watching your cool videos. Many years ago I worked for the prison system in Indiana. One Saturday or Sunday I was working a tower on the north side of the prison. Then active Grissom AFB was about 50 or 60 miles north and it was a very clear day. For about an hour I watched several A10 Warthogs doing maneuvers through binoculars. A couple times they flew over the prison on approach into the base and the sound they make is like no other. Certain sounds made by aircraft I’m sure psych out the enemy knowing the crap was going to get crazy. Great channel Jimmy. Phenom pilot fan from Colorado

Jimmy ... I really enjoy your channel. I feel an attachment to your 310 because I grew up in the "Sky King" television program era. You may already have visited the Kalamazoo, Michigan Aviation Museum but if you haven't, it has an SR-71B and an F-117 as well as a nice inventory of classic aircraft. As a matter of fact, the restoration arm of the museum has developed a superb reputation having restored several naval aircraft recovered from Lake Michigan. They were lost during World War Two carrier training. Stay safe and God Bless!

You picked a good time to go, as during the summer you don't want to be outside as much and they have a ton of great stuff outside (B-52s, SuperGuppy, B-36, etc. ) Last time I was there they had a ton of Harriers outside, and they keep growing their Mig / SU collection as well.

First and only time I was at Pima was as a kid. Was probably 8 or so, and I was born in 1983. I remember I got a water jet rocket from the gift shop where you fill it with water and pump it up and slide a little lock back and the rocket takes off about 40 feet up until the water is gone. I also got a bumper sticker and it was on the door to my room at my mom's house forever, even long after I moved. I don't remember anything else about the place, and I have always wanted to go again.

nice, if you ever see a P-40 my grandpa helped rebuild all 4 of the flying ones, he mostly fabricated the one that was transferred to Hawaii and sourced all the parts. crazy old guy into building top fuel drag cars, old school roadsters, motorcycles. remember going to CA as a kid inside his hangar with the ribs of a P-40 with the only jig left in the world to even work on the frame which he had to rebuild from scratch. Man i need to go visit him soon.

I actually flew F-14s in that squadron (VF-111 Sundowners) from 1980-1983. Now that I’m over 65 I meet up with one of my F-14 buddies at this year’s Sun-n-Fun. We saw the Maverick and Ice Man characters near their freshly painted F-14 getting photographed by all sorts of folks. My buddy and I had to chuckle a bit as here were two real X F-14 drivers vs two pretend kids. Funny nobody wanted our pictures.

Merry Christmas Jimmy, to you and your awesome family. I was in Boeing flight test in the 70's & 80's and there are three aircraft at the museum that I flew on (flight test engineering, not as pilot). One aircraft there, the YC-14, was probably the best STOL cargo airplane ever developed was a real hoot during flight test - on a test flight our F-86 chase plane couldn't keep up with our vertical ascent. Living here in Tucson allows me to visit the museum and it is amazing - every time.

Hey Jimmy, I helped paint the prototype Enforcer before Piper bought the rights to it. It was at Cavalier Aviation at the Sarasota Bradenton Airport in the mid 70s Cavalier was owned by David Lindsey original owner of Sarasota Herald Tribune. Cavalier built 2 place P-51s as fighter trainers for the Indonesian Airforce and they designed the Enforcer to try and sell to the US Airforce. My grandfather worked for Cavalier as a mechanic/ inspector. Just a little Aviation history for you.
