Ive spoken with Mike before. He's a really sweet guy. Something not a lot of people know about him is that he actually published his own comic, and it's actually really good. For the Darkstalker Graphic Novel, while I do see him not having a contract for it being its not coming, I wouldn't mark off all hope. Tui has been known to hire extra help for bigger projects (Remember, Legends are Double to Triple the size of a normal book) so i could also see Tui just hirng someone else for Legends books, as sort of an "Special Book"

Ikr! He could've left and continued on with his day, but he made sure everyone who got there from 1-3 PM got their stuff signed in front of him. And for the people who didn't, the comic book store told them they could drop it off and he'd finish off the rest later for them to pick up the next day :))

Every girl in my class loves WoF so am very lucky. It's a huge hit in my city. The downside is that we aren't anywhere near the USA so I can never go to events like this 😞

Getting your book signed by the author is always cool. I still have my signed copy of Grip Of The Shadow Plague by Brandon Mull from fifth grade and evertime I read it I still think its awesome I got to meet him.

THATS SO COOL. Have you ever read spirit animals? That's a book series Brandon mull helps to write! I need to recommend elementals by Amie Kaufman. It's a 3 book series, and ITS SO GOOD, I LOVE THE BOOKS. It has dragons and wolves in it, highly recommend lol

i cant wait for the escaping peril graphic novel ( to bad its a year away) its also my favorite book too. random fact in the beginning of escaping Peril when Peril is with Scarlet in the desert the book says that the sand under Perils feet turn into glass because of there fire scales. A quick Google search later and the temperature that glass turns to sand is roughly 1700°C (3090°F) witch is the temperature of a space shuttle re-entering the earth's atmosphere witch is CRAZY!!! ( imagine being winter or any other dragon Peril killed and feeling that much heat the pain must be insane)

Besides that my sister loves the books secret coders and would probably adore getting his signature. It's sad that we might not get a Legends or winglets graphic book because that's be amazing🥰. My nonna just got me the first winglets book for Christmas to read since I haven't gotten it and I'm super excited to read it!

You lucky dog! I'm glad that Mike turned out to be so pleasant. Most of the artists I've encountered are either banal or bad tempered. It's kind of a bummer that Darkstalker won't get drawn by him due to his schedule, but that simply means it (might) get made some day. It'll be interesting to see how he handles That Scene, considering how gruesome the art was in spots in Winter Turning. It's also awesome how this guy might be looking at your videos! Man!

I wish i could have gone- But a bit to far for me, would be a dream if i got to meet both Tui and Mike Holmes, but i got meet Tui back in October and she was also very sweet, my mom agreed as well, so im thankful for that experience. that was also a long line- it went way past the normal area for the signing. (it was a book festival so other authors where there. kinda felt bad for the other authors)

Although Mike Holmes's designs lack the believability, the realism, the tangibility and the tactility of Joy Ang's, I like them because of how expressive they are. You can tell what a character is feeling or thinking just from looking at his or her face.

Perhaps Scholastic's intention is to finish up the main books in each of the 3 arcs 1st, and then follow it up with GNs of the Legends and/or Winglets afterwards. I would really like to see Clearsight, Darkstalker and Fathom together during their happier times b4 everything went downhill with Foeslayer's capture.

I assume that's what they'll do, although in my opinion it makes sense to finish arc two and then do the Legends. It'll give some insight on Darkstalker for the graphic novel only readers, and it won't come super late. They'll also understand Clearsight way more before arc three. And instead of interrupting one of the arc three books to do Dragonslayer (for Wren and Sky), it'd already be out. Then they can complete arc three which would be the priority after that point. I assume the Winglets wouldn't take much time, but it'd definitely be at the very bottom of Scholastic's list.

@@Dogloverlikesdoge Yeah I agree that the Winglets are probably at the very bottom of the priority list, but I hope that we don't have to wait too long for an adaptation of the Legends books. I also hope that the Wings of Fire franchise starts expanding into new areas this coming year with more official merchandise! It amazes me that the Warriors series has an official merch store with quite a decent selection of items such as mugs, shirts and even coins, while Wings of Fire has basically nothing. Not even a basic shirt with the series logo slapped on it. It honestly astounds me given how popular it is XD

My favorite thing in the Winter Turning Graphic Novel is the panel where Qibli silently mocks Scarlet as they spy on her rant It's such a clever thing that Qibli would TOTALLY do & I see it as the best thing Holmes has added to the story since Kestrel's face scar

I am definitely disappointed about the Darkstalker legends book, but I understand the reasoning behind it. Mike Holmes sounds like such a cool guy and I’m glad you got to meet him! I am so excited to read the Winter Turning graphic novel eventually! Also I seriously can’t wait till he gets to arc 3, the pantalan dragons and the hives would look SO COOL in his style.
