Derek Hamilton aka Razor is a legend . He went on his own accord. Props to him. He, EA, NFS in general and NFSMW helped define my childhood. Props to BMW for making the legendary 2001 BMW M3 E46 GTR Race Car from Need for Speed Most Wanted and Props to Need for Speed for organizing the event. I wish I could have gone. This does feel like a revival of Need for Speed's peak and iconic era by them organizing this with BMW and then Derek showing up on his own accord. Derek is just an awesome guy. I mean it's been 19 years since the game was released and he STILL is willing to do this kind of stuff for his fans. He's showing an unbelievable appreciation and love for his fans. Him also answering to peoples messages and IG stories is just something so awesome. I unfortunately can't go there and see the car in real life, but seeing all you enjoying the car and having a good time brings me a lot of happiness too (and also jealous in a good way). Just beat underground 2 again, still have my original underground, u2, MW, Carbon, and prostreet from when they came out. Nothing would make me happier than having a remaster of Most wanted. I don’t feel the story, characters, just pure excitement of this game and the OGs can be matched by any modern racing game. I believe this is the only near perfect replica in existence due to the engine, transmission and rims. The engine alone to replicate would take a LOT of parts from other BMW's to recreate. Simply because only about 11 of the engines specifically built for this car exist. Thank you BMW, for making our childhood dreams a reality.
