I met an amazing man with special needs, Anton Dubishin whose life is a perfect example of positivity. Anton volunteers all over Ukraine, gives inspirational speeches to children and adolescents and also helps a lot of people including injured soldiers in the war.
Anton like most kids was born normally, but it was until the 9th month during a medical checkup that the doctors discovered he had spinal amyotrophy and would be disabled all his life.
Speaking to Anton's mum, she also narrates how she was advised to leave her son in the orphanage but she rejected him because regardless of his disability, she still considered him her son.
I got to hear about Anton for the first tome when I randomly came across a post by his friend Tariq on Instagram. I saw that Tariq was organizing a fund raising for him and it immediately caught my attention that such a man despite his physical conditions set high goals and wanted to inspire people, so I decided to reach out to Anton to make a video with him.
Anton shares his story, his reason for publishing his autobiography and why it's important for people with special needs to also have their independent lives and be useful to their community. The story of Anton is one that exemplifies hope, positivity, courage and a story that gives us all a new perspective about life and life's problems.
