They're lovely. Lots of work when first planting but many years of enjoyment.

Duudee Best thing ever my husband and I got for all the cardboard around is a second hand paper shredder, we store the paper shreds in a bin or basket and then when its warm we will use the shreds in the garden Literally greatest thing We put the paper shreds under mulch so we don’t need as much mulch, it helps attract worms and prevents weeds and bio degrades:) We started a worm compost bin and its helped our soil quality so much, we bought an abandoned house a couple years ago too and adding earth worms and red wiggler worms helped the soil so much / easier to get trash out and also helps with our drainage I was not into gardening at all until owning a home! I bought bulk coneflower and mum seeds online and I’m putting them everywhere so in fall too hopefully itll be fantastic with the leaves coloring!

Love, love, love your daffodils! You totally inspired me. I picked up a bag of 50 bulbs from Lowe’s last summer/fall for $20 and they bloomed this spring. 100% worth it.

I didn’t really appreciate daffodils until you! Also, I went back and found your spring peeper video from last year to show my toddler and he loved them! He thinks spring peepers are chicks. lol.

Where I live there is a nature center. The man who originally owned the land and donated it had planted daffodils all throughout it. It is wonderful to hike there and see the daffodils that have been there for generations.

I LOVE Daffodils! They are my favourite flowers, every year I have bunches of them scattered around my house and clumps of them in my garden ( which is the size of a postage stamp). They cheer me up so much and I love the scent they give off.I wish I had a garden as big as yours just so that I could plant more ❤

Beautiful flowers Kaylah! If you are ever looking for a Spring destination getawy ( or check out online), come to Washington State, 1.5 hrs North of Seattle for the Skagit Valley Tulip festival ( plenty of daffodils too ). Drive through miles of fields full of colorful blooms with several growers open ( check out Roozengaarde and Tulip town )with tours, education and of course bulbs galore. As this area is rich with history of how we stole the bulbs and put a dent in the Dutch Tulipmania market ( not emphasized much here found out online, but a fascinating background of a plant craze much like we've seen in houseplants recently.) 😻

Ok Kayla, i just dug up a bunch of randomly and oddly placed daffodils and paraded them to a new spot where I can enjoy them in the years to come. Thank you for the inspiration.

I would not dig the extra up but just clean out the rough areas to give them more spotlight! They are amazing. It would be amazing to have an evergreen shrub on the corners of your house and mass plant around them to showcase the house also.
@kaylahstroup9 ай бұрын
Oh believe me flowers and shrubs and all sorts of plants around the house is definitely in the plans. New roof needs to come first. I’m saving my sanity by not planting before a bunch of folks stomp around my house. 😬

My maiden name is Stroop and grew up in Ohio near a small wood. Also, I had a fascination with abandoned farm houses. Green is also my favorite color! So I feel an affinity for your channel. Many years later, I live in Houston-sadly, no daffodils here, so I enjoyed all of yours.

I just looked and my ancestor is Rowena Stoops, so probably not related. 🤷♀️

My grandfather said the Stroop’s came from Switzerland. It’s also the Dutch word for syrup…

It isn't possible to know what region you are in? For identifying wedding pix from 80's + 90's. Is "Stroup" a Dutch name? Your daffies are adorable. And, the "peepers"!!! Are they 1.5" long, as they appear???
