Have to agree with the others who said "paint it the same as the other one." At this stage in a new business, brand development is hugely important, and having a consistent appearance on all your rolling stock is just as important as a consistent look of the graphics on your letterhead, business cards, invoices, etc. Think about an extreme example - UPS. You can see one of their Transits or Sprinters and KNOW it's UPS, even though it isn't one of their package cars, just from the color. That sort of recognition is gold. Congrats on the growth!

First step, delete the SP switch, and convert the starter to 12 volts. Also, replace the fuel feed hoses to the fuel pump / injection pump. Old lines swell closed and restrict fuel flow. Use 3/8” instead of 1/4” ID hose.

Also, replace as much of the wiring as you can. One big problem with old trucks is the grounding. The wiring gets brittle and cracks develop.

Congrats!!! 🎉 I like the gray and blue paint scheme…. But having both trucks the same color(s) kinda lets people identify your company colors easily. It looks more like a fleet operation versus something tossed together. I think you and Bobby are doing a great job in building your business! Nice.Just keep your fingers crossed that Washington State doesn't adopt California CARB Compliance Regulations.With the leftwing government your state has this is a very real possibility .I get adds back here in Ohio for rolloff trucks that can't be registered in CA and they are forced to sell them at a steep loss..I think that all trucks in CA have to have a 2010 or newer engine to get plates.

Exactly what I was thinking. I live in california and I'm having to sell my 09, very well maintained KW with an already after treated Cummins Isx. Because come 2023 the F'd up liberal state will no longer let me register it at dmv. All on road, for hire diesel engine trucks must meet 2010 DEF emission standards. Total BS!

Oh I watch Gentry and sons also so you bought a super 16 one drop axle I do the same kind of work out here in Las Vegas I drive two vehicles I drive a Freightliner with a pusher axle and I pull up five axle side dump trailer I usually put in about 33 tons and I also drive a 7 axle dump truck with four drop axles I'll put 25 tons in that I'm permitted for 80,000 lb that truck is a w900 Kenworth

I agree with the others, go with a standardized paint color with your logo on the door so it is easily recognizable. I would also try and get rid of the steel wheels that it has on it at least on the wheels that can be seen so it looks good and can give a good impression to everyone on the road that might see it that it might be older but it is well taken care of.

Not going to lie but a "Smokey and the Bandit," painted truck would be cool. Conidering you both now will be driving KW's you could label the trucks Bandit 1 and Bandit 2. The KW in the movie was the same body style as the one you bought. Just Saying it would be cool to have Smokey and the Bandit themed dump truck. Can't say I've ever seen it done ether.

I had a 78 w900 3406 pcta Cat 13 speed it had the old torsion bar suspension we changed it out to Pete air leaf 3.70 rears good solid truck. The worst thing about those old engines poor fuel economy maybe 5 mpg. Good luck can't wait to see the rebuild.

Grey is ONLY for two things: military aircraft and warships (actually pink is more effective camouflage on the ocean and in the desert). I really like the blue, but do something unique. Put a small wing on the roof and use a tapered paint scheme to mimic a top fuel funny car, you could add a small set of wheelie bars at the rear . It looks like you have a future partner. Your son was finding hand holds on the Alcoa front wheel and the bumper.
