Dude! Same! My former DM from my last campaign told me about it and recommended that I watch it (mentioning Nott helped). I first tried starting with Vox Machina, but I wasn't really invested into Critical Role until I saw their intro animation for The Mighty Nein and watched some fan-made animatics. Then, I learned that there were two campaigns, and after a little resesarch, I decided to watch campaign 2 instead of starting with 1. Best decision ever! Miss those guys so much!

To put my analysis hat on (the recent cartoon teaser has been making me think about this) I think this is because of how character-driven C2 really is. We're invested in the Nein more than we are in any of the political machinations, but through the nein we start to care with them about bigger issues. We care about the war because of Yeza and Veth, for example. We care about the Angel of Irons and the danger her cult poses because of Yasha. We care about corruption in the Cerberus assembly because of Caleb, and we care about Cognouza because of Molly.

Campaign 1 introduced me to D&D, Campaign 2 solidified me into a critter, and Campaign 3 has enhanced my creativity. The moments in Campaign 2 though...so many tears...so many laughs...so many good feelings and memories. This group of nerdy ass voice actors are truly the greatest and so inspiring. Great video!

I miss them aswell and even tho I think it's rather unlikely, I keep dreaming that we'll get more Reunion adventures in the future... there's just not as much joy /or/ grief in C3 as there was in C2, it was unrestrained and messy and beautiful, and C3 is just too buttoned up. i keep watching hoping it'll get to experience the raw heart of M9 in BH that i know these actors can produce...

I never thought vox machina would be topped for me, but the mighty nein snuck their way into the depths of my heart and I don’t think they’re ever getting out. Their story is just so special to me because it feels like the story of a group finding themselves and what they sought after within each other, despite their many differences. And the bond between the mighty nein became stronger because of what they went through instead of fracturing like vox machina’s. They also just felt more real to me. I don’t know what it is about them, really, but I do know that the CR cast caught lightning in a bottle with this campaign.

I'm on episode 130 as of now, and the excitement mixed with dread I feel because I'm so close to finishing it is such an interesting feeling. I also blazed through these episodes because the story is intoxicating- I can’t stop watching, even if that means finishing it. I guess that’s what rewatches are for :’) But gods I just can’t wait for the animated series so I can re-experience my love for them :’))))

Campaign 2 was so much better than 1 and tbh - we were so much more invested in MN compared to episode 53 of C3 - all the characters really are just not up to par - Marisha and Laura are really carrying this time. The others are real boring.
