Arguably, the "clue" she had apparently already found was Beau. Beau, who later stole the letter that led them to the Gentleman. Beau, who later still got the password to the Evening Nip from that webbed-up thug in the sewers of Zadash (post-blink spider encounter). Beau, whom Jester had known for all of a day by that point. My favourite thing about this is just the image of classy and reserved Marion having to deal with this massive revelation and a bunch of hyperkinetic, heavily armed, extremely over-enthusiastic teens/twenty-somethings freaking out about her decades old romance. That and watching Marisha's reactions to all this. She still has my favourite facial expression journeys of the entire cast. You can see her every reaction and thought on her face like a flickerbook. :D
