Shoutout to the person in chat who referred to this (1:02:35) as a "salmon pole". (1:03:02) That sent me. (1:23:44) "Spawning Cheese" is such a funny troll to me. If there's another one of these in the future, I hope cheese is added to the list. Also goats, but that one is because I want to see how many of those little jerks would decide to charge you after dropping in on your head instead of running away. I swear it's every two out of three goats that try to murder me for daring share the same hillside as them. Or the cassowaries, which are almost universally aggressive to me. Such rude birds. I think it's a good thing that "blight" and "worm" were the hardest to trigger, because a horde of thunderblights is pretty much a death sentence, and at three hearts with base level armor of any kind, molduking is just an instajib unless he spawns somewhere silly, like, say, in between two of hyrule castle's towers. As a totally random hypothetical example, of course. Dogs repeatedly spawning in harms way was a morbidly funny running gag of the back half of the stream.

@HenrikSven3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it’s a bit of a double edged sword, since oftentimes it’ll just get a bunch of words that it mishears as one of the words. Really the only thing that bugged me was that there wasn’t much of a chance for the donators to get him unless they trick him into adding one of the words into his response, instead of him reading through the donations like Doug Doug would (where he’d have to learn to avoid the trick words specifically).

One of the most frustrating things about watching pointcrow is he gives way too much thought into the minority. I have seen streams where 1 person in chat saying the wrong thing brings the stream to a halt for 20 minutes. He needs to learn to ignore those people. Also I guarantee very few if any people that said it was rigged actually believed it was rigged. I joke like that all the time.
@ElysetheEevee2 жыл бұрын
I mean, he was giving conflicting rules, so I can see how some people were a bit irritated when their trigger didn't work, but far less viable ones did. The entire issue was the system he was using to recognize this stuff with (which is fine if it's unrefined, that's not an issue if you compensate for that). He didn't compensate for it though and relied almost entirely on a program that didn't recognize even the singular words repeated multiple times with no outside interference. In addition, he was giving examples of what should work and what shouldn't, but that contradicted what the program he used as a mediator "said" worked in the past, in addition to contradicting his own earlier instances of what had counted. It was all just kind of a mess. I totally get it was supposed to be for fun. I also get when people were bummed because they did exactly as he said and "got creative", using lines that were similarly set up to one's that worked before, only to be told theirs in particular didn't work because "reasons". That's not fun, honestly.

@ElysetheEevee2 жыл бұрын
I don't blame him honestly. So many comments on larger KZbinrs are always the same two things: "going through a dark time you helped me through" and "I'm a new streamer and need tips, also thanks for being my inspiration". Both are uncomfortable and get really annoying after the 200th of the same comment from someone else, and this is from someone who enjoys reading comments as a lurker. I'm not saying they're not true, it just comes off egotistical to many people as A. Nobody knows the person nor truly cares or really has the ability to since nobody knows them personally (anyone can care in a basic way, but most need some form of connection to care more deeply) , if we're being honest and B. They're a little entitled to think someone they don't know would care so much and would basically be inclined to interact, not to mention expect someone to sift through thousands of comments in order to see theirs. These streamers usually have well over a million subs and that's A LOT of people. Have you heard about that study that found humans have the capacity to remember and care about around 250ish (if I recall) connections/relationships before they simply can't anymore? Not sure how true it is, but I do believe there's a line somewhere. It sounds really shitty to say, but it's true for like 99% of these types of comments. They're unfortunately a dime-a-dozen and they're manufactured in a way to get attention, even if unintentionally.

Trick to make Eric say a word fails Chat: RIGGED
@ElysetheEevee2 жыл бұрын
I mean, they weren't wrong. He was giving conflicting ideas on what was expected. He uses a system that is based on phonetics (the sounds words make) but then expecting people to go by how words are spelled and syntax instead. It's bound to clash and create issues. Case in point, the Dumbledore and sub light issues. Since Minecraft and draft worked, even though both are words containing the trigger word/sound, then by all means Dumbledore should've definitely worked, and the way he said sub light should've also worked given other examples throughout the stream. He tried to say that it would've only worked had they been separate, definable words, but that wasn't the case for some of the other triggers like "Minecraft". He wanted people to get creative and hide the triggers, but when they did, just because the extremely broken speech recognition system didn't catch it, it didn't count? No, this needs to be way more refined and there needs to be definitive rules set down, to keep both sides' expectations in check. The way this stream played out, viewers were basically at the mercy of an incredibly poor speech recognition program that even he couldn't trigger with repeated attempts at the same trigger word multiple times; and PointCrow, whom got caught up in streaming (as what happens with many streamers) and didn't have the wherewithal to actively sift through and detailed every single instance to say whether it passed or not. You can't just go off of gut feelings with these types of games or this kind of controversy ends up happening, where you're essentially being hypocritical or wishy-washy without realizing it.

Yup. I don't think many people these days realize how terrible online life is for those with unreliable internet or even no internet (aside from possibly cell hotspots). We just FINALLY got cable internet in my area after pestering Spectrum (the only mainstream internet provider in our area) to extend their scope for YEARS. We had zero internet until the very end of 2018, then only had satellite internet available for years (which was so absolutely expensive for such shady, unresponsive services), and then got cable internet within the last year. There are still many placed all over the world and especially within the US that don't have proper internet connectivity. We found out how abysmal our reach is in the US when COVID hit and it's still bad. :(
