The revived Thomas Wooden Railway isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn good. You're mod for Gordon elevates his appeal. I would replace those wheels with regular TWR ones, but that's just me. Well done Lemmy. Side note: I love that Edward face that you made.

Man for some weird reason this just looks so much better. And I thought I already loved the Gordon the way it was but nah this is way more cool. Although it's sort of a shame that with Gordon you can't get the best of both worlds with his real arrangement. Personally I could go for either one but I will say Lemmy you've outdone yourself with this even if it was only one simple wheel swap. Also a side note I love the custom face you made for Edward.

Yeah, I don't know why the team at Mattel felt the need to actually reinvent the wheel for the new TWR; they're WAY too bulky, the printing is more distracting than I think was intended and the new scaling is odd for lack of a better word - not a bad first go per se, but I'd like to see another crack at the base here

If I was in charge I would have given Gordon the 2-6-2 wheel arrangement and proud face not a happy face but a proud one like something he says while pulling the express . The wheel arrangement being 2-6-2 is also accurate to the reboot so another win or loss . Gordon is the only one I have a flaw with Percy and Toby is fine cause they act like that and Edward or Rebecca’s can be interpreted in different ways

This looks much much better Lemmy! Looks more regal which is fitting for him. One question for the 3D Printing process, did you scan things to get the shaping or did you do it from scratch? I myself wanted to try doing the same for the faces for variants, filming and whatnot.

I rendered the bogies from scratch using SketchUp. Very versatile software! I did some rough measurements of the existing bogies and also imported photos to trace, so that helped a lot too. Mostly trial and error though. I had to print the bogies twice to get them perfect.

I really love this different wheel arrangement, although I may be biased since I always preferred take along over the other merch ranges. Although he does look a bit short in the front in my opinion. But overall I think this represents an A1 way better

To be honest, Gordon and Rebecca as 4-6-0s in this line doesn't really bother me. Hiro being a 4-6-0 on the other hand is just wrong (because he's meant to be a 2-8-2) and that's why Hiro's the only 2022 wooden engine I'll avoid

It's pretty straightforward; the short version is, I render them in SketchUp and then print them facing up, flat side down. Maybe I'll do a more detailed tutorial!

I designed it in SketchUp and then printed it with the flat side down. It's really just a nose and his cheeks; the mouth and eyes and everything are all drawn on in pencil and sharpie, with some white paint apply with a very small brush for the whites of the eyes

Honestly, this looks better than Henry does. It sorta puts on display how far back Henry's drive wheels are on the model, which just sorta bugs me. I'd like to see something like this with Rebecca, make her a 2-6-2, put an extra set of wheels in the tender, bam, perfect model.
