I Mounted My Camera Lens BACKWARDS! Why?

Did you know you can mount your camera lens backwards with a special adapter? Yep, a macro lens reverse adapter ring will take any normal lens and turn it into a macro lens! Cool!

A better solution is to use extension tubes. If you do that you dont have to expose the sensor-side to the elements.

Very cool!!!! Mounting a lens backwards seems so weird but works pretty well!! That being said, one drawback is the lack of connection with the mount, such as aperture or focus with lenses that need power to do so. It's not a huge issue but one to think about. I think I saw a thing where you set your camera for the aperture value you need, hit the aperture preview button, hold it while you remove the lens, and it'll keep the aperture value...I haven't tried it nor would I but it ' might ' work.

I use a set of stackable +1, +2, and +4 diopter "reading glasses" that screw on the filter threads of my old kit lens. Funny, my "vintage lenses" are still electronic (original EOS lenses from 1987). In this century, rather than using mechanical parts, you ought to look at something like using an Arduino to control the dismounted lens.

If you place a 2x teleconverter between the lens and the camera, you can double the image size.

Extension tubes is a more practical solution to this. Focus and aperture control is still possible etc.

Noice! For macro, I've been using eBay extension tubes from china that smell like they were smelted in a tackle box filled with gasoline. Whatever works.
