It is a profile picture, probably Clog-3 not very sure bcs I use Sony, but this picture profile lowers the contrast and saturation so that the sensor can capture more dynamic range and more light information, this is used very often if not always in movies or professional videos. This gives the editor much more information to play with in the editing room. Basically the video that came out of the Canon was very little edited or it wasn't edited at all. You can search on KZbin "What is Picture Profile in videography" if you want to find out more. I hope I made it a bit clearer for you.😌
@dc292177917 Жыл бұрын
nikon + panny shooter here. the IBIS of nikon is the winner for stills, for video it only works for tripod style with no movement at all; if there is any panning the IBIS tries to freeze the frame and when the threshold approaches it will bounce back and forth... the very last few frames of the first scene at 70mm actually shows the IBIS reset to the centre position. for video works panny has the best IBIS handsdown.

well for IBIS the Lumix S5 is the winner, I saw the A7IV footage too steady... I have it, its not THAT steady unless you turn on active steady shot too, also if you're impressed with the IBIS on the S5, the GH6 is much better, I never use a gimbal with my GH6 actually, fun fact, don't be afraid of a smaller sensor guys, its the result that counts ;)
@haulfilms2 жыл бұрын
Agreed! Love my GH6 IBIS, did a helicopter video recently and the footage turned out super steady! I just need to tweak the autofocus settings.. it was my first time using AF since i normally use manual focus, and I changed the AF settings before recording, which made it difficult to hold focus in some shots. The GH6 autofocus is not like Sony or Canon.. but i have seen amazing results in other videos, i just need to apply their settings, and do some more tests 👍 Andy, If you use AF, would you mind sharing the settings that you use? (sensitivity / speed) Thanks!
@AndyLSB2 жыл бұрын
@@haulfilms I know right ? it is a beast! yes I've used the AF several times on my videos and social media, I've found that one Lumix Leica lenses works best and faster, since all the Leica branded lenses have been updated to work with the GH6, my 8-18mm f2.8-4 is blazing fast when it comes to autofocus, but for other lenses like the Lumix 42.5mm f1.7 is a bit slow, accurate but very slow, on my G9 that lens performed way way faster than on the GH6, so Lumix Leica lenses work faster for the GH6. The settings I use are the standard ones, haven't changed anything because I feel its appropriate for my use case, but dialing -3 to the speed helps a bit, what works best for me is 1-area box (with face/eye detection), the camera will focus only on what's in the box you assign (doesn't matter the size or position of the box), it does not hunt or look for anything else PLUS turning on focus limiter and assigning the maximum close focusing distance I want and the far end point, that usually does the trick, hope it helps buddy!

Not unheard of at all, and to be honest, depending on what you do or need, investing heavily on great ef glass with smart adapters (either boosters or regular ones, but make sure they have pins for information) is one of the best decisions you can make. Never owned a camera with ibis. I like my handheld work to have some natural shake and if I want stability I'll use the appropriate mount and maybe a touch in post within Resolve. A 70-200 + lens would be the exception though for sure.
