I just bought my first house in Florida at 31 years old. @@barleysam1 My best advice in short answer would be to get a secured credit card and establish good credit early. It's basically just a debit card with a limit that reports to the credit bureaus. It's less about making a ton of money and all about having a good credit score. Even if you just get a $200 secured card as long as you pay it off, in full, every month your credit score will improve. Your credit score impacts so many things you don't even think about. In some states it can even effect what kind of rate you get for car insurance.
