Michelle! Glad to see you so happy with this next step in your life! The new apartment looks amazing. I would suggest keeping the furniture light and neutral with colors such as grays or maybe even an off-white to beige color. It makes the pieces you choose timeless, which is great if you intend on keeping the pieces if you should move to another place again. And then if you want colors, utilize small accents such as rugs or artwork as your colored accents. These are most likely to be replaced if you move, so it won't really matter unless they become sentimental pieces. I hope all goes well with decorating! 😊💝

An L shape contemporary colt feather/velvet purple plum sofa with sleek chrome high legs would look great with the dark wood floors. You can use a combination of sofa and wall colours like light beige with cushions to give light and dimension and choose plain fabrics instead of printed ones as you may like to put up a huge painting to bring colour into the room. Or you can place the sofa on the left side ( left to the fire place) with a great sleek big mirror behind it on the wall (a budget one but Philippe Starck style). A round big one would look great and you can choose a modern big standing light with a min colour lamp shade. Use a throw on the sofa to bring dynamism and a light colour small modern rug in front of the sofa. If you wanna keep it without the rug, go for a modern/authentic mix style big round coffee table so that the shape can refer to the mirror as well..You can get a contemporary big wood basket to place it by the fireplace and fill it up with woods and can change that curtains as it doesn't look very nice. A mink colour sun blocking blind would give a modern look and can match with the standing lamp. You can place the mirror on top of the fireplace like in my living room as it looks great and use a big painting behind the sofa and keep the Tv on the opposite wall. And you can use some great figure or face sculptures to give a high luxurious look which u can get them on Ebay

I would go one of three ways, a neutral, white (yes scary, but so so pretty), or a colorful couch. I would only go with a couch that has a pop of color if you are in love love with it. Otherwise if you go wit neutral or white you can always change out your pillows to change up the color scheme or the look you're going for. I have been doing interior design since I was a 11 in my head, but I have been through school now as well. Oh, I do lighting now, so please, please, get a couple beautiful large scale side table lamps with big beautiful shades. That living room us a nice size and deserves the furniture and lighting to match the scale of it. Perhaps if you go neutral for the couch and subtle color in your lamps, you may fall in love with a crazy amazing area rug for that space that will be your inspiration for the entire room and add a a warmth in contrast to the wood floors. Excited to see what you end up doing. Oh, and please when you purchase light bulbs. "GE Reveal" bulbs only, preferably LED, but they can be pricey. They are the best thing that's ever happen in the residential world of lighting. It will bring out the true colors of everything around you , versus yellowing the colors of the items that you loved in the store when you purchased them. Good luck!

You should go with a soft or light grey couch. It's a neutral without being white. That way if you want to change the decor with the season all you have to do is switch out pillows and maybe a throw blanket.

Since its a big space I would definitely get a nice 8x10 rug. HomeGoods has a lot of options for a good price. I would go with a fabric sofa, maybe a charcoal grey with a lighter, warmer rug to match the fire place. I think a beige color sofa would also look nice, but it will age quicker. I would do the big mirror like you said and I think mirrored coffee tables and side tables would go nicely! Good luck decorating!! Love your videos

Love the new digs!! I would totally recommend a cool grey color thats not so light it will stain easy but not dark enough to blend into the floor. That way you can pretty much pick any color of throw pillows/blankets etc to decorate it up with and change them out at will :)

I would suggest getting like grayish couch. If you would get a set (1 longer one and 2 small couch/chairs), put the longer one against the wall and the smaller ones on each ends of the longer one facing each other (idk if that makes sense but-). Then put a table on the center, like usual. And if u would like, you could also get a cream-colored carpet for the living room just for the couches and the table to stand on. If you would put up a mirror, it could be a horizontal mirror parallel to the couch or on beside the tv. Then u could slowly put some artworks everywhere idk. Those are all suggestions of mine which I feel like would look pleasing, but since its ur place, u could always choose what to put up. And remember that you dont have to get all your furnitures at once because you could slowly put them up by ones (according to budget). Remember that its okay to be busy with your personal life and we would understand that. I love you Meesh!! 💚

Meesh you should go to hobby lobby. It made me want to redo my whole place. Find a theme you like there and then pick furniture. They also have some furniture and have great prices. Make sure you download the coupon too. They have a couple in sac too if you'd like moms advice. 😉

IKEA! I own the Nockeby Chaise Sofa I light grey, and LOVE IT. It’s a great size, and makes the room super cozy, because the cushions are super thick lol. I started out with a cheap sleeper sofa from IKEA (Friheten?) or something like that, and it was great too, and obviously a lot cheaper, but the reason I say IKEA is because almost EVERYTHING has a warranty, and everything can be exchanged or returned within a year of purchase. So, we’re actually thinking about exchanging the grey couch we have now for a darker version. Hope this helps! Plus, their prices are awesome, and they have an entire section for markdown furniture!

i'd say pick one color and stick to it, make it uniform but have a splash of color. pick one or two accent colors for like, pillows and whatnot. Maybe an olive green? Olive green looks nice with dark brown floors.
