I traveled to Nigeria for 10 days back in 2009. I was quite nervous when traveling there by bus from Abidjan to Lagos. However, at the border, the customs police made me feel very welcome, even more so than the locals. It was a pleasant experience. They checked everyone's passports, and when I presented mine, one officer reassuringly told me, "We're not here for you; we're here for our own people." Once inside, I felt very protected because the Nigerians seemed to care deeply for a stranger more than themself. My friend who invited me was a university professor doctor who live in modest house. Although he knew I could not have me stay in his own house because there was not enough room for guess with his big family, he still invited me and put me in a nice hotel by his house. Nicer than his modest house. So I slept in the hotel, he comes and picks me with his family stay together eat and at night he takes me back to the hotel. I AM IN LOVE YOU GUYS!!!!! I WILL MARI MY NIGERIAN LADY AND RETIRED THERE AFTER I AM DONE WITH CALI.

@@ZaharaImole she mentioned it . She said “our police men do not carry guns around” this doesn’t mean they don’t have guns, they don’t carry it around, brandishing it like the officers in Lagos do.

We feel safe. When they are not having from young age we believe they are there to protect us its so rare to find them with guns and its scary when they move around with guns, something will be wrong somewhere.
