What I find incredible about your magic is the "flatness" of your style. You can bring out complete beginners tricks like forcing a card and then guessing it. Or you bring some high level slight of hand stuff and whatever other stuff tends to fool me. But it seems so same. The expert stuff isn't extra flashy, the beginner stuff not less flashy. So, when I get fooled, it's often kind of a double fooler, because I wouldn't know if that was something extra difficult or something extra cheap. It gives it this extra mystery. Combined with the tidyness, where as the audience you seem to see everything, yet you don't, so it strikes a very elegant chord. There is a certain purity in that and it's especially cool for those who are more into the "magic" and less the "show". Sidenote, now that you are in NY, I totally wanna see you on StarTalk.

Can you do a Q&A with questions like: "Do you have a favourite set of cards?" or "Do you stretch your fingers or warm up before performing a challenging routine?" I would like to know how many set of cards you use or buy in a year or so.

Can you ever do a video giving us tips on how to do magic for people without feeling awkward or shy? I’ve asked lots of magicians and most of them say that the more you perform the more comfortable you’ll be. I’ve been doing magic for almost a little over a decade but i still get jitters and just wanted to hear your thoughts
@DanielRoyMagic3 жыл бұрын
That's a great question and a good topic for a future video. In my opinion, it comes down to preparation. If you are so well rehearsed that you know you'll nail the sleight of hand, the presentation, etc. AND that you have the skills to respond to the unexpected, there's nothing to be afraid of. In addition, I think it might be worthwhile to try to identify what you are specifically anxious about. Is it the approval of the audience? Rejection? Your own high standards? Something else? Then, you might think about what you feel the weakest links are in your preparation and what steps you might take to address the specific anxiety you're feeling. Also, we should distinguish between a healthy level of nervous excitement and an unpleasant level of existential dread. Having some jitters of excitement is great -- it keeps you on your toes. Existential dread at the thought of going onstage? Not so fun.

@DanielRoyMagic3 жыл бұрын
It's a complicated topic -- something I cover in lessons and also (eventually) in my online course. Card college teaches it well. Play with weaving top down vs. bottom up, certain cards weave better one way vs. the other.
