I really like this type of 'honest cheating' where the magicians/ sleight of hand artists don't try to bother with the pretense of doing impossible things. I first saw this during a Penn and Teller act and have loved the style ever since. Even a poor practitioner can sell a trick as a miracle, but it takes a true master to show you every step of the method and still not reveal anything with their actions/movements. Very impressive!
@DanielRoyMagic4 жыл бұрын
That’s a really important part of my own philosophy and approach to magic, so I’m glad it comes through! I’m very upfront that some things I do are real, learnable skills, and other things I do are unreal - they are tricks and illusions. And like you said, I don’t claim for a second to have any magical powers. But I think the fun and the mystery come from the fact that I don’t tell you where the boundary is between the real and the unreal, and that’s something you get to decide for yourself. :)
@anyany20213 жыл бұрын
There is no such thing as "honest cheating", those are two mutually exclusive meanings, just like a married bachelor. The cards are being manipulated without the other party knowing, it's cheating/lying/omission plan and simple. The opponent isn't given a fair opportunity to win. If you are playing a fighting video games and I go in and manipulate the programming code to make it so that your character always loses but don't tell you about it, than challenge you to a tournament for money and I win did I win that money honestly? Stop living in fantasy, come on back to reality. His control over the cards is very impressive though.
