@RedEyedJedi Oh yeah it’s real impressive, So tell me in which part of life is this needed? If you think he has a small grin you should see the look on my friends wives faces when they have to call me anytime they need something fixed, The average person can’t even change a spare tire let alone diagnose and repair your HVAC system when your AC stopped working in the middle of the night during a storm when the temperature is around 95°F! Or how about installing an expansion tank on your homes Waterline before pipes start bursting in your home because the town replaced your water meter with an electronic meter with a built-in one-way valve without informing us! You should see my smug smile right now knowing you have no idea what i am even talking about!
@MichaelKollmer-n9x
@MichaelKollmer-n9x 4 ай бұрын
@@NeverEnoughPyro40 I understand your point, but you are not seeing the big picture. He makes a lot of money performing with those abilities, and for that money he can afford to pay for the things you mention without any problems. Besides, he studied neurobiology at the University of Pennsylvania, so he probably makes REALLY good money when he chooses magic as a way of life. Fortunately, everyone is needed, so it's good that he might not be able to fix the things you mention, because otherwise you'd be out of a job. Envy is an ugly thing.

I'm not saying the tricks were faked, but it may be possible that some took multiple attempts at least, we just don't know. And the beauty of magic is we'll never know :)

OK. So I had the opportunity to see your life show two or three nights ago and it was beyond incredible. If people reading this, John Cody, your life show they are missing out on a whole bunch. I am the guy who took a guess at your last trick. If I could be so bold to make one suggestion, and there is absolutely no reason why you should listen to me I think you should do this routine with the 10 levels of cheating in your show. Most of the people on KZbin are coming because I have seen you do the card magic. The other magic is also fantastic but I think this card magic and particularly this demonstration would put it over the top. In any event, it was one of the best evenings I have ever had. Thank you.

I’m a level either 0.4 or 0.6. I drop the cards in a perfectly numerical, unshuffled order. I’m not sure if that’s a step above or below.

I really like this type of 'honest cheating' where the magicians/ sleight of hand artists don't try to bother with the pretense of doing impossible things. I first saw this during a Penn and Teller act and have loved the style ever since. Even a poor practitioner can sell a trick as a miracle, but it takes a true master to show you every step of the method and still not reveal anything with their actions/movements. Very impressive!

That’s a really important part of my own philosophy and approach to magic, so I’m glad it comes through! I’m very upfront that some things I do are real, learnable skills, and other things I do are unreal - they are tricks and illusions. And like you said, I don’t claim for a second to have any magical powers. But I think the fun and the mystery come from the fact that I don’t tell you where the boundary is between the real and the unreal, and that’s something you get to decide for yourself. :)

There is no such thing as "honest cheating", those are two mutually exclusive meanings, just like a married bachelor. The cards are being manipulated without the other party knowing, it's cheating/lying/omission plan and simple. The opponent isn't given a fair opportunity to win. If you are playing a fighting video games and I go in and manipulate the programming code to make it so that your character always loses but don't tell you about it, than challenge you to a tournament for money and I win did I win that money honestly? Stop living in fantasy, come on back to reality. His control over the cards is very impressive though.

Or, level 11 "Get video editing software to cut several times for each trick so you can reorganize the cards the way you want when the camera is off and then edit the cuts out" He may well have done the sleight of hand. But learning to edit videos would be a lot easier and look identical.

Daniel has the hands of deception. He made you think those are cards. If Daniel has money, it isn’t from showing off his dexterity, it’s from twisting his fingers into everyone’s money. Well done, Daniel. I hope there is a video on tips and tricks and maybe some background info about your skills. Such as how long you have been using this power up, where you learned it, muscle memory tips, etc. truly impressed.

See, the bit that really gets me is the fact that when he finally gets to level 10, he's able to deal the suits out in order without having had to adjust them at any step before that, which means that he's saying level 1, but *doing* level 10, the whole way through... Although I suppose if you know exactly what you're doing, you know how to undo any modifications you *have* made to the order at the end, rather than having had to keep them in order the whole time. Either way, extremely impressive.
