Thanks for the GREAT analysis and review. You confirmed my impressions of the game, which is on the way to me, and I'm really looking forward to diving into it. On a positive note, the designer has stated that, if game sales go well, there will be "expansion decks" which will both broaden and deepen the story. And, I LOVE the concept of the "Challenge" run through the game. Although, Bonaparte undoubtedly may not have done it, for game purposes it is a fantastic strategy. Nick Stasnopolis

Thanks for the video, I might even buy the game. The problem with historical simulations is that we know how it developed and ended. Young Napoleon didn't know he'd have to decide whether to invade Russia 30 years down the line, but we know this topic would come up. So, the simulation is not perfect. Thanks again for your in-depth analysis.

I pretty much agree right down the line. The one thing that I found aggravating was that some of the rules were difficult for me to interpret the first time I saw them. I don't think anything is missing from the rules, but because of the philosophy of minimizing the rules overhead and making the cards self explanatory, there are some cards and situations which were not clear to me the first time I saw them. Clarifications are definitely needed and they have been making those clarifications. I can just see the game being frustrating the first few times and expecting someone to keep at a game that is frustrating them is sometimes a big ask.

Thanks. Super Review. I can think about many games like this. For example : "I the Sun King" about Louis XIV, or " I the old Fritz about Frederick the great.
