It was the culmination of a dream that had brought her close to death many times as she capsized again and again during hurricanes on a previous attempt. She was inspired to keep trying by working with the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali.

Lady you did not fail. You have a brain. Good job actually saving your life. Your heroic behavior under conditions that would actually be the apex of terror would be beyond commendable!

My admiration ma'am. In a rowboat eh? The c word that imo describes you best is courageous. The north Atlantic is no joke. Being thrown around by the sea can beat the crap right outta anybody. You did it in a rowboat. Legend is what you are. Hope you're still doing legendary shit.

What a journey. To face the sea on its own terms.

I get the need to complete something but I just don’t understand how she was “ultimately successful” after the mid Atlantic row. She was successful in surviving a hurricane at sea in a frickin row boat. She was successfully BRAVE and SELFLESS when she didn’t launch the distress beacon. She started thus entire journey a complete success.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I walk on the sand by mister ocean and it says come on in a little bit I want my waves to tickly your feet? I go out just a little too far and guess what goodbye me. Mister riptide takes me about a mile out in a second.

Explain this? You are out in your little sailboat, and for some reason you cannot wait to jump off of it and splash into the ocean, when lucky you and ocean both know their is a 40 foot great white sitting right where you are going to land when you jump in?

You did not really fail. You just did not get to where you wanted to go. Had you tried a bit harder, you would have succeeded. Those boats are impossible to sink. But you were probably not prepared enough. Proven by how you managed to reach your goal on your second attempt.
