In an alternate timeline where the Myth bad ending occurs, there are still many things left unexplained. We know that Ame has repeatedly attempted to time travel or change the course of that timeline, but unfortunately, the outcome remains the same: the defeat of the other Myth members and Ina still trapped under the control of the Ancient Ones. You might not realize that the reason Ame was able to reset the timeline and cause the Big Bang is because Gura succeeded in freeing the Ancient Ones from Ina's body, leading to the emergence of IRyS. There's also speculation that it was due to the absence of Sana, and this is true. But we're thankful that in this timeline, two branches have united into one, starting with JP and ID, and leading to the emergence of the Council, Advent, and Justice.

This is by far one of the best fan animations in all of Holo. The animator of this actually has confirmed there will be a sequel, starting as an April Fools Joke by just posting a screenshot reading "Myth Bad Ending 2" on twitter, then the next day actually posting a teaser for it. I'm almost certainly not gonna remember everything worth timestamping, but I'll get what I can and let others like Xankoshu cover what I miss. 1:47 This is Ninomae Ina'nis (Ina for short), who is the Priestess of the Ancient Ones, which are essentially an Eldritch God. This animation essentially is a "what if" scenario where she falls prey to their influence. 3:06 A really cool thing done with this animation is that they remixed Myth's songs to use as the bgm, here is a remix of Calli's debut song, "Excuse My Rudeness, But Could You Please RIP?" (RIP for short) 4:22 This dives a bit further into their lore, where Calli is a shinigami (Japan's rough equivalent to the grim reaper) and Kiara is a Phoenix. Also, the BGM here is Kiara's original song, "Hinotori" (Translates to bird of fire) 5:13 Her full name is Amelia Watson, but most people call her "Ame" for short, or some like Calli and Gura calling her Watson. 5:55 Now's probably a good time to talk about the group lore of Myth. Essentially, it's a group of mythical beings, with Ame being the exception of the human detective who is investigating those myths. 6:35 For Gura's lore, she's an Atlantean, as in from the underwater city of Atlantis. Also lorewise, she's somewhere over 9000 years old (yes that is an intentional joke), but she's forgotten her exact age. 7:03 Music here is Gura's original song, "Reflect" 7:42 IIRC, that is meant to be the actual form of the Ancient Ones. 7:51 Mazumaro (the animator) has stated that our current timeline is the "good ending", and I'll talk about this a little more later. This animation is standalone for now, at least until the sequel releases. 8:12 Here is what Ina more generally looks like, when not taken over. 8:57 It's harder to tell when this is in black and white, but this is where she pulls out Gawr, the red counterpart. 12:09 This is what Ina looks like just as a human, when she's not in contact with the Ancient Ones 12:31 BGM here is Ina's first original, "Violet" 12:19 That's actually Gura's hairpin, so yes, she was actually obliterated by the beam here. (It's also seemingly relevant to the sequel) 13:27 Yup this is Ame's thing, and where the rest of her lore comes in: She's a time traveler! This was actually lore added after her debut. She started out as just a detective, but someone superchatted and asked her about her watch (the one you see her press earlier), and she on the spot came up with the answer that it's a time traveling device, and ever since it's been part of her lore. 13:47 This whole sequence is essentially Ame jumping through different timelines, many of which she's come up with or used on stream, for one reason or another. I joined the fandom after most of these were made, so I don't really know most of them that well. 14:43 That amount of time is the approximate age of the universe. 15:17 These symbols represent Hololive Council, the second debut group of HoloEN. In order, it's Nanashi Mumei, Ceres Fauna, Ouro Kronii, Hakos Baelz and Tsukumo Sana. Sana's symbol is glitchy because a. She also in lore has a connection to the Ancient Ones (due to being an irl friend of Ina) and b. Having graduated from Hololive by the time this animation came out. 15:56 This is Ame's member mascot, the Investigators. 17:46 BGM here is a remix of the BGM Ame would use on stream, as she did not yet have an original song at that point. 18:03 The little wisp here represents IRyS, who is the embodiment of hope. She initially debuted on her own under Project: Hope, but she and the remaining members of Council after Sana's graduation formed a new unit, Promise, as she had been treated as an unofficial member of Council previously, due to not having debuted that long before. 18:26 Never really thought about it before, but huh, I guess it does take place in Central America. IDK if there's any particular reasoning for this. 19:21 Notably, this single entity actually means Ame resetting the timeline, not the world being wiped out by the Ancient Ones. Also, this date had already passed when the animation released, being evidence that we are living in "the good ending". 19:41 Mazumaro is actually a professional animator, and has been hired to do work for vtubers before, such as a lore video for one of Kiara's outfits. For today's rec, it's actually a Holo song partly inspired by this animation, "Meconopsis" by Ina! It's essentially an alt timeline where this animation ALMOST happened, but Ina managed to resist the influence of the Ancient Ones. Personally, I believe this is how our timeline ended up as the "good ending".

One detail I really love is the moment after Ina rebels against her eldritch patron and she is... expelled/rejected(?) by them, she appears as just a normal human girl, with no tentacle hair, elf-like ears, or any other notable tako-like feature we're used to seeing her with. It's a brilliant use of visual storytelling to show the audience that her ties with her patron have been severed and she is now completely powerless. In this battle of immortals and beings with god-like abilities, a lone human sits and cries, as all she can do now is try to apologize to her friends... Speaking of being human, it's kind of incredible that the most powerful members of MYTH are arguable the two humans, with Watson of all people quite possibly taking the cake. --Ina, with the power of her patron, was able to completely rout death's apprentice and a phoenix in mere moments and went blow for blow with a raging Atlantean. But again, this was with major help from her patron. --Watson on the other hand, is probably the most "normal" human of the group most days. Yes, she's also a time traveler with incredible abilities, stolen as they may be. But they're abilities she's managed to put into practice and master well enough to not only completely STOP TIME and rewind it to the VERY BEGINING of EVERYTHING, but she's also managed to travel directly to where Council (literal embodiments of cosmic forces like Space and Time) overlook and observe everything, and as shown in the end, she's done this MULTIPLE TIMES in quite possibly the most stressful situation imaginable. And as stated by the creator, she somehow managed to succeed enough in changing the timeline to prevent the "Bad End" from happening again (likely with a little help from a certain Nephilim who can briefly be seen in the clouds as she descends to Earth, bringing Hope with her), and setting us on our current timeline, AKA "The Good End."

Oh boy! This is gonna be good! I’ll be answering questions as I go. Watson’s power is that she’s a time traveler. She uses her pocket watch to do so. Gura absorbing the Trident to DMC5 where Dante does the same with his sword to transform. Gura, here, turns into her much more violent and Derek Gawr form. You’ll note that when Ina throws off the old gods influence, she becomes completely human again. No ear flaps or anything. Oh boy! The Watson traveling Easter eggs. You noticed Smol Ame ending the Dinos. The shrooms thing was WATOTO, from the holomyth TTRPG game MythBreakers. Bee-Ame is a thing. Gonna point out the symbols above the projector represent Hololive Council; Bae, Mumei, Kronii, Fauna, and Sana…who’s planet icon is flickering due to her having graduated. You missed IRyS’ cameo as a light descending to earth. (Hope Descends) So the backstory is that Ina’s book holds the Old gods and this is the timeline(s) where they took over her. In all of these bad endings, none of them joined Hololive. After this was released, the creator tweeted out that we are living the Good Timeline. Btw. 1 person animated all of this over about 18 months. As to other things to play/watch, I recommend more holocure. For watching, I recommend the highlights of HoloEN’s 2021 Halloween Collab in vrchat and then Myth or Treat, holomyth’s first original song. It’s chocked full of Easter eggs from the Collab as well as from previous memes and events.

For those who aren't familiar, the term "bad ending" is used in story based video games where the choices you make end up with a bad ending to the story. You can replay the game making different choices to get to a good ending. In this animation it shows the world in this bad ending timeline stopped at September 13, 2022. The creator of this animation stated that the timeline we are living in right now IS the good ending. Hololive Myth managed to stop the destruction of the world and we live in the good ending now in our current timeline.

Good catch on the time stamp on the video that Ame sees in the theater! It is the theoretical amount of time from the "big bang" (start of the universe) until the current day/time. In other words the video was a chronicle of the events of that time-line back to its beginning, but the theater likely exists "outside of time".

Funnily enough, the way this animation was released, it kind of worked like a series. We got to see previews of most of the first half, trickling in over the span of a year and making it feel like a much larger narrative. The KZbinr "schnee" (who mostly does videos on professionally produced movies/series) did an awesome breakdown on this "short form vs. long form" narrative, as well as all the other details that make Mazu's animation so great. I think you know this already, but just in case. So from the lore, as you might know, calli is a reaper, and kiara is a phoenix, gura is an ancient shark from Atlantis, ame is a time traveler. And lastly the antagonist, ina is a priest of Cthulhu. In this bad ending, Cthulhu took over ina's body and bringing the end of the world, while her friends tried to bring her back. And as you saw, with the sacrifice of all of them the world is in a loop of bad ending as ame tried and failed to find a different future. The good ending is where we are in real life where they're idols from holo and being a vtuber

I would recommend watching the HoloweEN videos on the Hololive EN's main channel, they are kind of a similar vibe and think you would love them. oh, and why is Gura such a bad ass? She is Gura. If you don't know, she has been a figure online for over 12 years. she amassed over a million KZbin subs and Twitch subs (though her actual presence predates both those platforms) before joining HoloLive. She didn't like the direction her life was going, which is why she joined. She is a master at internet culture and an outright memelord in her own right. She plays a goofy, dorkus, naive character, but she is probably one of the most savvy KZbin creators out there. Personally, I put her in the same class as Markipkier and Pewdipie. HoloLive has a talent, it seems, for recruiting internet talent and integrating it into their fold.

This animation took Mazu a year and a half to create by himself. It contains so many references to each of the girls' lore and memes, even the music! They're arrangements of each of the girls original songs or stream BGMs. A masterpiece! Oh and Mazu has shown on Twitter some teasers of the sequel he's working on. This video has so many hidden details. Sana's emblem flickers because she isn't here in this timeline. When Ina stops herself from strangling Gura, you see her hair tentacles are gone and her ears are human, signifying that the eldritch god she was containing is, well, no longer contained. Around the end when we zoom through the clouds, you can see Irys's symbol, suggesting that hope is manifesting into the next timeline (ours). The timestamp of the "youtube video" is the (estimated) age of our universe.

so... this animation is based in the first hololive EN generation called MYTH Lore-wise Calli is the reaper aprentice, Kiara is an inmortal phoenix, Gura is an Atlantis descendant, Ina is the priest of the ancient ones (Lovecraft mythos gods) and Ame is a mere human...... with a time traveler device. The idea in the vid is an alternate iteration where myth are friends but hololive doesn't exist, and for some reason Ina has lose control over the ancient ones power. the good ending is our current timeline with myth being part of Hololive :)

And, yes, Mazu's work here is professional grade quality. Ame did not just reset time at the end, she destroyed all time as we know it and reset it from the beginning. The KZbin video that you see is ALL of history as we know it (all 15 bullion odd years) and the parts that she ripped out represent a portion that can be rewritten based on what came before. According to Mazu, this puts us in the "good ending" which we have today. There is an instance of IRyS (hope) showing up in the rewind which may have made a difference. Gura's own Anniversary anime "SHARKED" may point to this also, as IRyS whispers something to her in the alley after she finds her hair binds. My personal interpretation is that some takodachi ate all the cookies or pulled Ina's hair which set her off but the exact cause will never be known. Anyway, the take away is, don't mess with MYTH. They can ruin your whole day without even trying.

it's insinuated by the fact that Ame even arrived in that room to hear the previous Ame's message, that even that Ame, at the end, hoped for a timeline where they could reach a good end and did what the others did anyway, despite the message she left. I think that's the realization that the current Ame has when she says "well you are me." In the clouds at the end you can see the symbol of Irys "hope incarnate" descending on the world, which likely leads us to the current timeline, which is supposed to be interpreted as the good end. Even the video by Mazu came out the day after the date in the video, If I'm remembering correctly. Also Irys' lore is she was born of the hope from human's hearts, or something like that so it makes sense.

Mazu's animation and attention to detail, coupled with Daryl Barnes' score made this a masterpiece. The only thing that could have made it any better would have been the ladies voicing their parts, but they weren't able to so even though they wanted to. Kiara did a read of her part while watching it on stream once. Looking forward to the next one, in 2026 probably.

This animation was years in the making, and it's honestly one of the best Holo animations out there. He's currently working on a sequel to this one except this next one will be about HoloPromise. @@Kurukuu I only picked up the series after the second part of the animation had been taken from Tiwtter and put on YT. It wasn't all too surprising that he didn't share any info about the plot. I'm sure he wanted to keep a sense of mystery around the project since it would've gotten a lot more people curious that way, that and he might've wanted to showcase his art without dialogue (I think the first teasrer he posted had no subtitles, only the animation)

The good ending is our universe where Ina hasnt lost control and the Ancient One who inhabits her/her grimoire and has not been taken over. But the coolest part of this whole animation is that the music is made up of an orchestral medley of everyones first original songs, except for our girl Ame. Ame didnt have an original song by the time the animation was finished so they made an epic orchestral of a stock song she often used. Fore more context why not react to "Amelia Watson - Papaya" Quick little tidbit at the start of guras fight, they used the motif from jaws when gura did the Fiz Ult! 8:12 i believe is a reference to when ina would wipe the floor with gura in games like Smash 8:31 Gura absorbs the trident of atlantas giving herself over to Gawr I will trust someone who knows more about Ame to fill you in on that.. yeahhh.. 14:40 The Movie Theater at the end is very important as you might have guessed, yes its the youtube UI but the timeline at the bottom displays the exact date that Holo Myth debuted since the universe was formed, or at least a close approximation. 15:16 The Symbols above the projector represent Holo Council which are Mumei, Fauna, Kronii, Bae and Sana, in that order with Sanas planet symbol glitching indicating she is not around or there is a problem, this also being because Sana Graduated from hololive and is currently doing her own thing. "You are me after all" Papaya intensifies 18:03 Lastly we see a light in the clouds descending towards the earth as we zoom out, this is actually Irys, project hope and the embodiment of hope, showing that even in this neverending spiral towards this outcome, hope still lives on 20:10 Mazu is currently making a Part 2 which features the HoloCouncil! My theory is because councilrys represents the natural order of the universe (Mumei is Civilizaion vs Fauna and her position as mother nature, Kronii the warden of Time vs Sana the representation of space, Bae the god of Chaos vs Irys embodiment of hope) and ame has been resetting it over and over, she will be confronted by them for one reason or another. As for other animations that are on par with this, theres quite a few! Mostly official ones commissioned by and or for the talents themselves such as Gawr Gura's Blue Horizons and Shark'd animations, Callis anniversary lore video and the lore videos they put out for hololive Advent and Justice! As for Non-Hololive, a large amount of indies have some sort of animation and or lore video, Vshojo has a nice handful of them, Ironmouse has enough to class as her own category! For Vshojo i think Henya The Genius' animation will resonate with your childhood, Zentreyas is like 70 references in a trenchcoat, Michi Mochievee, k9kuro and Matara Kan all have nice lore videos that led into their Debuts. FallenShadow had a redebut recently with her new model which came with its own lore video which was very cute and well done. Vichiban is a vtuber group made up entirely of artists and because of that they have their own animation studio as part of the group. And lastly something that you might find a bit surprising is Astraline, a Vtuber group made up of youtubers like Night Mind and Fredrik Knudsen who were big into the online horror, arg and weird true fact spheres, real old school youtube compared to todays coverage of the matters. Astraline itself being headed by Lucius Merryweather who is a danish vtuber who has his own animation studio and has written and animated lore videos for a vast majority of corpo vtubers and has had his hands in many MANY projects. For a Time Merryweater Media was the only animation studio Vshojo would even use

Advent being a group of dangerous individuals imprisoned by the gods (Coucil/Promise seem to be said gods in a lot of fan headcanon), and Justice as a group of mercenaries tasked with hunting them down.

I mean advent+justice backstory is basically an anime series concept just waiting to be produced, but that also means it's kind of locked in to a certain style of storyline, while myth is more of a mysterious open book that could be adapted in so many different ways.

Wow, someone watching Myth's Bad End after so long. Nice. OK, extremely long explanation/rant/easter egg incoming: The Myth girls: Mori Calliope: Death's Apprentice, immortal Kiara Takanashi: Phoenix, eternally reborn Gawr Gura: Atlantean shark/girl Ninomae Ina'nis: Human priestess of the Ancient Ones (turned into something non-human, hence the elf ears, hair, and tentacles) Amelia Watson: British investigator/time traveler Ina has been taken over by the Ancient Ones (AO), due to...something. The Ancient Ones are eldritch gods, if you know who H.P. Lovecraft is, and his Ctulhu mythos, it's that. Once Calli starts fighting, the BGM is from Calli's song "RIP". When Kiara saves Calli, the BGM is from her song "Hinotori". AO imprisons Calli and Kiara and Gura steps up. Gura's song "Reflect" starts playing when Gura imprisons (ineffectively) AO in the water bubble. Gura realizes there's no going back, and uses a special trigger to turn into "Red Gura" or "Gawr", a wild, primal version of herself (that's first referenced in her song Reflect) to fight Ina. That trigger is a homage to Dante from Devil May Cry. Gura splatters AO, but the black goo reforms back into possessed Ina form (maybe a homage to the T1000 from Terminator 2?). When Ina fights back against AO and AO unpossesses her, the BGM is from Ina's song "Violet". Ame completes the calculations for the time travel and warps away. The first scene while time traveling is of a gigantic Smol Ame in an age of dinosaurs, as the meteor that ends the dinos. The third scene is Watoto, Ame's character from a D&D RPG the girls played. Fourth is a whole lot of Bee Ames, originally debuted when she watched the Bee Movie. The entire sequence is a homage to Dr Strange traveling through dimensions. Ame eventually ends up in a movie theater, and the big screen displays a gigantic number. It's the age of the universe, approximately 13.7 billion years. Ame sees 5 icons above the projector, referencing Hololive Council, the second English generation. Nanashi Mumei, Guardian of Civilization. Ceres Fauna, Keeper of Nature. Ouro Kronii, Warden of Time, and Tsukumo Sana, Speaker of Space. They are something akin to gods or concepts, like Mother Nature or Father Time. Ame's ability to time travel through her pocketwatch is because the watch belongs to Ouro Kronii. Ame stole it. Sana's icon (the ringed planet) is glitching, referencing several things. In lore, Sana is the Apostle of the Ancient Ones, and Ina is the Priestess. Personally, I think this connection was made because Sana and Ina are friends IRL. Here, because the Ancient Ones are rampaging, something has happened to Sana as well, hence the glitching. It can also be because Sana graduated from Hololive due to health problems back then. A bit of a layered meaning to the glitching. Once Ame says "You are ME after all", the BGM is an orchestral rendition of Ame's stream BGM "Papaya". She pulls out the tape of the projector, like all of her previous incarnations have done, and time reverses itself. When the screen pans up from the world, you can see a glowing something in the clouds, going down towards the world. That is IRyS's icon, wings. She is the embodiment of Hope, and presumably, she is given form because Ame (all the Ames) never gave up, they kept hoping. There's another short video (on Gura's channel I think) where Gura goes onto land for the first time, and a ghostly someone (IRyS) whispers something into her ear, and Gura notices a poster for Hololive auditions, starting her career (and probably of the other Myth girls as well) in Hololive. Ina has said that her fans, the "Takodachi" are some sort of energy drain/regulation for the Ancient Ones. Back to the Myth Bad End, this is presumably how the Bad End doesn't happen. In the new timeline, Gura goes on land, IRyS whispers into her ear about Hololive, all the Myth girls start their career, and Ina's fans keep AO from taking control/going wild. At the very end, the Big Bang starts up, and in the theater, time starts running again as the universe is remade. The text says that on September 13th, 2022, the world was wiped out. As the date of the video of Myth Bad End is on 30th of October 2022, it's past the date the world would be destroyed. We live in the Good Ending, confirmed by Mazumaro.

The big piano… you mean the organ, the one with the big pipes in churches? The code in the YT video is just the video duration, in this case it's this timeline time. If you want a Hololive horror game there's “Hololive Error". If you want more terror stuff, "HoloweEn" short stories, written by Fauna will do the trick. There's a lot of easter eggs and details here, so here's an overview of the story: the Myth girls aren't in Hololive, they're just a group of friends, with their lore intact. Ina, being related with the Ancient One gets ovetaken. Since there's no Hololive, the Council (their symbols are over the projection) doesn't have avatars, and there's no Sana to share the burden of the Ancient one, so Ina falls (Sana's symbol is glitching in referenoe to her graduating). During the rewind time scene, while ascending through the clouds, you can see a bright figure with wings, that's Irys, Hope descending too late (during Irys's debut she 'descended' twice, so this might be her first descent). Mazu said in their SN that there won't be a "Myth good ending". Maybe because we are in the good ending

Speaking of Hololive Error, before its release there was a bunch of vr (I think that's the proper term? You could turn your viewpoint around and look at different stuff etc) videos as well as another bunch of voiced manga all featuring a number HoloJP girls as characters from Error (I am not fully certain if all are physically in game but they are all part of the story in some way and I know some of them really are physically there in the game).

I'm glad you also enjoyed it. I also hope that one day he will also do a continuation with the Council because Watson used the clock she "borrowed" from Kronii (IRyS was also born after Ame resets the time where you can see the "angely" white thing in the clouds after the earth zoom out). Our timeline is the good ending because the takodachi are supposed to help Ina (the priestess of TAO) to not get overtaken by TAO (The Ancient One) and in this timeline there's no takodachi. After Amelia kept on time travelling she finally landed on the current good ending timeline where they are happily streaming. and Council who we're supposed to intervene with is streaming along with them. the songs are each one of their Songs in orchestra version, I love Gura's Reflect Orchestra. the numbers in the projector is the universe age in hours as they say. I wonder how Kronii would be pissed that Ame keeps on rewinding time and messing with it. I would also recommend reacting to the Hololive experiences like (Watame experience and 1 year of watame)

Practically no reactor ever watches this to the very end. At the end there is a "Game over" screen with the option "Retry" and "Quit" and someone (whoever has the controller off-screen) selects "Retry" right as the video ends. My theory is, with the context of the final second of the video, that Ame's "never give up" attitude, and countless Ames sacrificing themselves to reset the timeline cause Hope (IRyS) to descend into the world. And it was because of the presence of hope, that the timeline was finally changed so that we could live in the "good" timeline.

The lore in some level of detail: This animation depicts one of many possible bad endings for MYTH (Calli, Kiara, Ina, Gura, Ame). In this bad ending, Ina becomes fully possessed by The Ancient One (the C'thulu-adjacent eldritch God that lives in her book). Ame, the time traveler, finds a route through parallel timeliness to The End: a place beyond the universe. The timestamp on the video she sees is the approximate time of the known universe as of the date of the video. There, Ame encounters countless other parallel versions of herself from other bad endings. All trying to undo whatever caused their universe's bad ending, resetting the universe in the process. We live in the one and only Good Ending where Myth all joins Hololive and live happily ever after. The animator stated they will not animate MYTH's Good Ending because it is already happening before our very eyes. Some Easter Eggs: -In The End, you can see thr Oshi Marks (fan emoji) for Council. -Sana's Oshi Mark (the planet) is flickering as a tribute to her graduating in the middle of this animation project. -During this current reset, as it zooms away from Earth, you can see IRyS' symbol representing Hope in the clouds, implying what we see here might have been the last reset before our current Good Ending timeline. -(where available), orchestral versions of each member's original songs play during their "hero moment" such as Hinotori for Kiara and Reflect for Gura.

Lore wise, no, you can not take Watson. You could not take any of them. 2 immortals that can not die (one of which literally IS death) who will be reborn by the universe itself. Am ambidextrous gremlin with all the power of magic and science of an ancient civilization behind her. Ina, who can only be stopped by herself, because AO is that powerful and eldritch. And Watson, who can (by lore) literally bend time and STOP time to suit her own needs. Matsu did an amazing work in this piece. He managed to fill a complete universe of complexity and lore into a cohesive and understandable video in LESS THAN 15 MINUTES! It took Disney and Marvel 14 YEARS to do the same thing!! My advice, never take any of them on. You will not win.
