Howdy! Time for a shuffle breakdown!!! (sorry, not sorry :3) First off at 3:34, that is a plate of 3d scanned fried chicken... ANYWAYS! ONWARDS To the shuffles! First off we have Ookami Mio, the black wolf of Holo Gamers and she shuffles with Fubuki! Second is Shirokami Fubuki, the white fox of Holo Gamers shuffling as Mio! Next up after the Godzilla transition is our angel in hololive Kanata! She shuffled with the succubus doctor Choco-sensei! (love the whole bit of her wearing fake boobs and they fall out at the end of her song) Afterwards we have Nene-chi singing Polka (polpols) original song while dressed as the clown doggy herself! (wubs intesnifies) Ooo The girl with the wave hair is Kobo, the water shaman from holoID and she shuffled into Hakos Baelzs (Bae) from Holo EN Next up is La+ Darknesss from Secret Society HoloX shuffling into Takanashi Kiara the pheonix of HoloEN (you mentioned that this could just be a song in general, a lot of the hololive originals are played in tokyo, especially around Akibahara) Leading into Ayame who shuffled with Takane Lui another HoloX talent! (yea they had a lot of fun with transitions and set design, love the yugioh cards) Marine... Cap'n marine swapped with Ninomae Ina'Nis (Ina for short) the priestess of the ancient eldritch gods , from HoloEN (Matchu " OH YES" me: "OH.. oh noo.." the tentacles.. made some of the girls reacting to it go wild.) Her cannon takes us into Gawr Gura who does a very convincing Orca cosplay dressed as Chloe, from HoloX (yes that was a shrimp with buff arms, we call them Buff Chumbuds, regular shrimps are Chumbuds) Oh hey! its my JP Oshi, Nekomata Okayu! She does shuffles with her best friend Inugami Korone! (Both Okayun and Korone do two songs of the other which is why they swap outfits twice) The true JP ambassador Korone is up next dressing up as Okayu! (Both of these girls are the last two of HoloGamers and were friends with both Fubuki and Mio before joining hololive) Second Sidenote: Okayu and korone are very.. close and open, the proposal scene at the end of their section is very cute The finale! Front and center we have quite possibly the most important talent in all honestly.. Meet, Tokino Sora, Talent number 0, when it was just her in an appartment with the director/producer that we now call A-chan. She swaps outfits with Irys, the Nephilim from HoloEN who in turn swaps with Ayunda Risu from HoloID. In full circle Risu gets Sora-senpais outfit. In short without A-chan, without Sora, there would be no hololive today. I have heard a few stories but the one that is most credited is this: Cover corp (parent company of Hololive) is a tech business, and the vtuber industry is booming in japan. A-chan (friend A) who is working for cover corp approaches the CEO, who the fanbase affectionately call Yagoo, and proposes a virtual idol subsidiary. A-chan gets the go ahead and the first talent is taken on, Tokino Sora. She spent months with less than 30 viewers but had the support of A-Chan. im going to skip a lot ahead but right now as it stands.. A-chan is the director of hololive, she has english and japanese streams and co-streams where she will go over recent hololive news for the week as well as co-stream watchalongs for any new debuts.

One minor note. A-Chan and Sora weren't working for Cover. They were both High School students, or just out of High School. Friends who had known eachother for some time. Sora's dream, ever since she was little, was to be an idol and perform on stage. (specifically Yokohama arena, which is referenced in a different Hololive music video). For whatever reason, this dream wasn't working out in real life, but Sora and A-Chan had heard of these Vtubers, and Sora decided she wanted to try being one. But Sora and A-Chan didn't really have the knowledge or tech to pull it off. It wasn't like how it is now, where the software is easily avaliable and the hardware (semi) affordable. Most Vtubers were special, corporate backed things, like Kizuna Ai. A-Chan found this small tech company, Cover Corp, who specialized in making AR and VR games. And she somehow got in contact with their CEO, Motoaki Tanigo (Yagoo) and convinced him to give Sora a shot as their vtuber, to do streams and videos, and promote their products and tech. A-Chan more or less became Sora's tech support and manager. And so, by finding an alternate way for her friend to fulfill her dreams, A-Chan, along with Sora and Yagoo, created this little sub company of Cover Corp, Hololive. And through that, they have helped so many other people fulfill their own dreams, and managed to bring together an amazing community.

A-chan without being a talent (now she is like the creative director of Hololive) is so popular that she has her own merch lol. She and Nodoka (another Cover' employee) even have their own 3d models and often they stream in the official Hololive yt channel.

@@mrmxypltk Something you didn't mention, and may not know. One of Cover's tech ventures was developing live, real-time 3D projections in front of a real audience (from full body mocap to solid 3D projection) but they lacked both a market and an audience. Sora and A-chan gave them a possible solution of breaking into the idol market by using vtubers which are already animated. And, thus, HoloLive was eventually born. As the talents were added and their fan bases grew the audience and market for the tech expanded with it. Win-Win all around if you ask me.

Like last year when each girl showed up they started in their default outfit, then they transformed into the outfit of the girl who originally did the song they were singing. The one you said was your favorite voice (with the big horns and long sleeves) is La+ Darkness, she was singing Takanashii Kiara's song Do U. I would highly suggest checking out the original Do U and/or her new song Chimera. For more La+ I would suggest her cover of Godish

Okayu and Korone swapping outfits is pretty much something everyone expected. Those two are probably the closest friends in hololive currently (though Coco and Kanata used to live together before Coco graduated). The proposal was very unexpected though. As for the outfits: Okayu started in her outfit, transformed into Korone's regular outfit, then transformed into the outfit from the song she was covering. Korone started in her regular outfit, swapped to Okayu's regular outfit, then transformed into the one from Okayu's song. Fun fact, you can see Risu hiding in the background when the camera pans out as they exchange rings lol. Risu is jokingly referred to as Korone's daughter.

Since nobody else has mentioned it, gets some trivia about La+. Her name is a reference to Laplace's Demon, a thought experiment which essentially articulates the concept of Causal Determinism. It essentially said that if you imagine there is some sort of demon which knows the position and momentum of every particle in the universe, that it would be possible to calculate the past and future of those particles by simply applying the laws of classical mechanics. Also, her second outfit is a kimono with a print of herself on it, which is probably the funniest outfit choice in all of hololive.

Concerning songs from IRyS, the person with burgundy hair you liked the look of at the end, she originally debuted as an English talent with a greater focus on music. so there are plenty of songs to choose from, her first song which released with her debut was "Caesura of Despair". she also has done a couple covers,such as idol by yoasobi. My personnel pick is her original song Gravity

IRyS's discography is probably only surpassed by Suisei, Calli and maybe AZkI. So many originals but few get animated or the credit they deserve. Marvelous voice that I have been a fan of since her "Renai Circulation" cover 10 years ago now. Also, since you are involved with tracking and layering avatar issues, IRyS's 1.0 model was so complex and involved and presented so many issues with tracking and overlays that it was basically impossible to do a 3D model of. Gorgeous, but impractical. Probably the singular most complex model in Hololive. It took 2 years and lots of work to develop her 2.0 model that you can finally get the 3D representation here.

Adding to what others said, the singers are swapping outfits and songs with each other, but not everyone represented is present. For example, in the beginning mio changes into fubuki's outfit and sings fubuki's song, and fubuki changed into mio's outfit and sang mio's song. But the person you liked with the purple horns is La+ (Laplus) and she changed into Kiara's outfit and performed her song, but Kiara was not in this years lineup of medley performers, so you never saw her.

I absolutely died laughing when Marine transformed into Ina's outfit. She's wanted that for a long time now. I absolutely love how her voice sounds singing Violet too. While Ina's breathy singing works really well, it's super interesting to hear Marine singing it with full chest voice. I'd love a full cover.

It was Sora who started it. September 7th, 2017. And still going strong in 2024. She was the right choice for JP representative in the All Branch Trio finale. Also, seeing that incarnation of Yagoo's dreams of running a seiso idol group in an IRyS outfit was almost as shocking as seeing IRyS in a more toned down and innocent Risu outfit. Not as much as seeing Marine test the limits of stretchiness of Ina's outfit, but still. A sight to behold.

The La+ segment makes a ton of references to the MV for that song. The camerawork mirrors the MV very closely, which isn't the case for every segment here. And like others have said, La+ absolutely loves that song, and spent a ton of time learning the dance and working on her pronunciation for that. She also has quite a range for her singing voice. Her cover of "Loveit?" really shows her range off, since it is basically supposed to be 2 different personalities/sides of a person. A bunch of members have covered that song, but I haven't seen many people talking about it.

There may not be 10 years worth of shuffles yet, but there is so many performances to watch that are incredible If you want another "shuffle" style hololive content though, you can watch Ollie special medllie, a music video made by Ollie to celebrate her 1mil sub milestone where she rapid fires other member's songs with cute chibi sticker style art of her in their outfits. Its pretty incredible.

In the last section, we see 1 member from each branch of hololive: Tokino Sora of hololive Japan front and center, IRyS of hololive English on the right (the "tall glass of wine") and Ayunda Risu of Hololive Indonesia on the left. Sora is the one who started hololive, and is responsible for Cover corp transitioning from being purely a technology startup to being both a technology company and a talent management company. She's often referred to as a goddess or sometimes Daisenpai (dai as in great/large, senpai meaning upperclassman/senior). For a time, members were kind of afraid to collab with her because she's foundational to the company and her success is the reason any of the rest of them have a job. Of course, she's worked hard to break down that barrier. She doesn't like being treated as different. IRyS debuted just before the second generation of hololive EN as a VSinger. She was technically considered independent, and was intended to focus more heavily on her music (as she was a well known utaite singer before joining). Of course, with the graduation of Sana reducing gen2 down to 4 members, IRyS streaming lots of non-singing content, and the proximity in timing, she was always seen as unofficially part of gen2 to begin with. Hololive recently rebranded gen2 from being called hololive Council to hololive Promise, and officially included IRyS in the generation as part of this rebranding. Ayunda Risu is a member of hololive ID gen1. One of her claims to game is her incredible voice range. She has 2 characters, Risu, who has a higher pitch voice and is who you usually see on stream, and Ayunda, who has a much deeper voice and doesn't show up so often. Her range as a singer is wild, and while many people suggest her song Alice&U because it's meaningful to her and her fans, I really think something like Sing Out is a better showcase of her vocal range.

Based on your comment, I recommend Omaru Polka and Laplus Darknesss' music. 6:10 Now you have no choice but to watch the acid trip that is Polka's "Po". This might surprise you (and a lot of us) that a clown vtuber has a really diverse range of original music, ranging from su*cidal (Ever Blue) to an epic magnum opus (Persona). 10:19 Laplus with her whispering, breathy but! cool voice has a lot of great covers: God-ish, 食虫植物 (Carnivorous plant), あなたクランケン (You Are Kranken)

If you enjoyed this Shuffle Medley and the 2023 Shuffle Medley, I'd like to HIGHLY recommend "【カバー曲】Hololive Special MEDLLIE - Kureiji Ollie", which was a major inspiration for the 2023 Shuffle Medley. Ollie did this as her celebration for reaching 1 million subscribers in March 2022. 1:11 "Is her tail wrapped around her leg?" Good catch! I'm embarrassed to say it took me about 2 years to realize Mio's real tail is wrapped around her thigh. The big one with the white tip that you occasionally see swishing behind her is actually her ponytail. 3:42 "What did she just eat?" If I recall correctly, upon building Hololive's new $3 billion studio, one of the first tests of their new 3D scanner was to scan in immaculate detail a plate of karaage (fried chicken) that Mio had just cooked. Mio and Fubuki are close friends from before Hololive, so Mio pops up to share her excessively rendered karaage with her friend. 5:04 "Is she supposed to be some kind of succubus?" So the concept of the Shuffle Medley is each member dresses in another member's costume and sings a cover of that person's original song. So here, the singer is Kanata (an angel) dressed as Choco-sensei (a succubus nurse) singing Choco's original song "NoDistance". 9:30 "So far, I like this person's voice a lot" This singer is La+ Darkness. Her first name is pronounced "Laplus", which is a play off of Laplace's Demon. She is dressed as Kiara the phoenix from EN (hence why her purple character hair clashes quite a bit with the orange outfit) and singing Kiara's song "Do U". There were jokes that the white version of La+ following the black/white split should be called "La- (Laminus) Lightness". She does an amazing job here not just singing in English (La+ is Japanese), but also replicating Kiara's German accent, and ALSO nailing the dance moves. 10:38 "Do you have YuGiOh cards in here? Do you have Exodia?!" Japanese Gen 2 is nicknamed HoloExodia because their conflicting schedules makes it very difficult for all 5 of them to be in the same room at the same time. But when they do get all 5 members together, you (the viewer) win! this gen consists of the singer Ayame (the oni/demon) forming the head, Aqua (the maid) forming the left arm, Shion (the witch) forming the right arm, Subaru (the tomboy) forming the left leg, and Choco (the succubus nurse) forming the right leg. 16:04 "Wait, have they each been wearing their own outfit until they transition?" Yes, they "wholesome" outfit with the white dress and yellow jacket belongs to Korone (the brown haired dog), while the purple hoodie and trackpants belong to Okayu (the purple haired cat). Okayu and Korone are "very close friends" (if you catch my drift) and for this segment, they both changed into each others' clothes and sang each others' songs.

The comedy of Momosuzu Nene swapping with Omaru Polka is that honestly Nene is chaotic enough that she could easily have been cast as the one from a circus and it would have worked just as well. Nene refers to her listeners as husbands and she is... Posessive. Once a husband, you do not divorce her, or she will be very sad, and you do not want that.

10:50 not quite. I'll try to cut it short if you want the context. The girl singing here is Ayame and she is part of Hololive's 2nd generation. The cards represent one part of each Vtuber in Hololive's 2nd generation (5 members) but as gen mates, they collab so rarely that their gen nickname became Exodia. It was first mentioned in a collab stream where they were all together and thought about a name for their gen. Exodia more or less came as a joke but the fans thought it was funny and so it ended up becoming a meme in Hololive.

You should check out some Hololive clips, maybe of some of the English, I think you'll really like them when you see their personalities outside of singing. Hololive primarily advertises their talents as idols, but they spend large amounts of their time streaming, either watching tings or mostly playing video games. There's a big community of clippers, some even professional that provide highlights or series of funny clips for specific hololive members. Their collabs are also great as the gals all have great chemistry with each other, their group collabs are some of my favorite content.

Fun reaction, bro. I loved this more than I did 2023 Shuffle Medley. Mostly because I like the songs here better. Off the top of my head I can answer 1 question I remember The angel girl Kanata at turned into a demon, not a succubus. She switched to Yuzuki Choco's outfit and sang her song. She leans into her sex appeal so anyone would be forgiven for mistaking her for a succubus. When she (Choco) performed that song in 4th HoloFes last year, I was honestly enthralled. She could very well be a succubus. Which reminds me, I wonder if you'd be interested in reacting to fan Vlogs about HoloFes. In case you didn't know, HoloFes or Hololive Festival is held once a year which involves a huge 2-day expo with stages of live concerts in real venues with real people. It's huge. And broke people like me can't go. So we rely on Vloggers like hwikky.

The three at the end are argueably the best singers in each branch of Hololive; Tokino Sora (JP and the first member of Hololive), Ayunda Risu (ID Gen 1), IRyS (EN, the tall glass of wine XD). Don't know if there's an official ranking or if that was actually the reason those 3 were chosen for that part. Regardless If you're have a conversation about say top 10 singers in Hololive it's unlikely those 3 names aren't in there somewhere

Why does everyone, and I mean everyone, or almost at least, reacting to Mio and Fubuki for the first time confuse wolf and fox ears for cat ears? And it's not just them but Tenma, Filian and others. Practically all of them except Sinder and Buffpup. Cat ears are shorter and generally less pointy. Maybe it's a natural bias, idk. Also, no one has mentioned how angry Kanata's Mama got at her attempt to get booba and actual cleavage. 😂😂 It has even been speculated that the major earthquake shortly after this performance aired was a result of that anger. Love it or not, HoloLive lore is entertaining at the minimum.

"is she supposed to be a succubus?" Actually no, while a lot of western viewers interpret her as one, Yuzuki Choco, aka Choco-sensei/Choco-sen, is just a demon (who is working as a school nurse). And like others have said, the in-joke with Kanata swapping with choco is that kanata is obsessed with having large breasts, while her artist steadfastly refuses. She has attached fake breasts to herself on stream several times, and attempts to gaslight members into believing she has large breasts (this always fails and leads to members making fun of her).
