Today i want to have a discussion about somersloops and what the best way to utilize them with the duplication properties.

Coming at this from the power perspective makes no sense. The way to wrap your head around what the somersloop does is to imagine that it doubles every single machine that was used earlier in the same chain. So the more machines and resources in a chain, the better it is. It also works spectacularly with itself (and power shards) since it keeps multiplying with itself. Let's say you're struggling with coal, so you put a sloop in the assembler(s) at the end of your encased industrial beam chain. You have now doubled all the constructors feeding steel beams and concrete earlier in the chain, you have doubled all the foundries feeding steel into your constructors, and you have doubled all the miners and the resource nodes they're sitting on. Now, if you also put sloops in your steel beam constructs you have quadrupled all your foundries and all your coal and iron miners and all their nodes. This way you can squeeze out a ton of production from very few nodes and save yourself from building a billion machines (which offsets the power concerns).

It's not just about comparing every recipe/machine against themselves, you also need to take every subsuquent production step into account. If you wanted to double the output from your accelerator making nuclear pasta without the somersloop, you also need to double every single previous production step. That's a lot of power aswell.

It also means that alt recipes that increase throughput at the cost of material efficiency may be better now since they allow a single Somersloop to affect more items per minute.

​​​@@stirlingr.buchanan6570Absolutely! I think the main question is how much we can yield out of each somersloop. And the answer is: we should produce the most complex parts (to save all the material+energy costs) in the simplest machines (to save the somersloops itself) and at the highest rate (the less machines we need, the less somersloops we need). So the best recipes in terms of amount of items per somersloop IMO would be something like OC supercomputer or alt. plutonium rod (mentioned in the video). The OC supercomputer for example is made in assembler which produces 3 SC/min in cost of some material efficiency. However, if we put two Sommersloops into it, we get 6/min and 15/min with overclocking respectively. 7,5 extra supercomputers per minute from 2 somersloops and ~160-170MW. I mean 3,75 SC/min per somersloop is huge! Whereas the Super-State SC alt. recipe would give us only 1,5 SC/min per somersloop (also 250% speed)

Not being in the end game I use the somersloops to double space elevator parts. Esp when I didn't have everything feeding automatically it was a godsend with early computers. Also use them to double your slug/shard production. The power enhancer gives you an extra 10-30%( need to feed in parts to upgrade it) on your total grid and it stacks. It dosn't just do whatever you have right next to it from what i've seen so far.

Remember, You only get like 50 Sloops in total. You'll probably keep swapping them around based on Needs at the Moment

According to the map you get 106 if you get catch them all.

There's 106. The achievement pops when you collect 50. And the achievement tracks all of your saves that don't have Advanced Game Settings enabled, too.

I've pretty much decided on building ten Alien Power Augmentors. Three more get spent in the MAM, and the three that are left will live in my slug processing facility to double power shards. Effectively doubling my power production (more if you feed it the thingies which the name of escapes me) saves me the most important thing of all: time spent building and expanding power instead of factories.

I would say priority for somersloops : power shard from slugs, and biomasse from ennemis + DNA capsule for tickets

Use sloops to 2x in constructor for 1 alien corpse to 2x protein // 2x protein to 4x alien DNA for easy early game tickets!!! With only 2 sloops and changing recipies in constructors as needed, you go from 1:1:1 to 1:2:4 ratio for 4x alien dna for early game sinking! Super useful as the alien dna uses a separate point system than other items. Also doubling slugs is helpful early on

Decent!! For the fuel production, it might be good to use them for fuel boosting until the resources are acquired to add the power enhancer (what ever they're called). Though I don't know what the building req's are for those. I like the earlier game boosts, tho. Those are nice. Adding alt recipes with Somersloop boosts can make for some *very* tight building layouts.

I feel like doubling you fuel rod production would be the best first step then using the rest to make augmenters.

I think any items made in manufacturers are the most viable machine to use the slommerslops in. Won't too much of a power drain and complex enough resources to make the extra items worth it

you shouldn't consider that one machines power cost when thinking about what to use it on but instead the whole production chain to make the item... cause you effectively just doubled every machine before that point... so if you are worried about power you should consider if that 4x energy cost is less or more than running double all the previous machines AND another one of the machine you are placing them in.... so the most effective use would be to only place them in the last machine of a production chain and then if you want to make even more of said item then you would use on all of the machines 1 step behind so that they would be making double so you can then split it into 2 of the last machine and then make that other one also have em so instead of just doubling everything you just quadrupled everything.... though if power is a concern then you should try working from the first steps forwards since just placing one in smelter would be effectively be like switching to one of those refinery versions where you add water and get about double the normal ways production except its way cheaper energy wise to use the somersloop than replace a smelter with the refinery + water extractor combination both in terms of time to make the setup and having materials for it.... though obviously the absolutely most power effective way is to pick the material with the most steps before it in combination with it being then assembled in the least power consuming machine like for example something like Pressure Conversion Cube is a great example of something that its assembled in the assembler and that is like 15mw and its much cheaper to double that output and then build twice the particle accelerators for getting more pasta from those than to directly use if for pasta... but personally i was essentially cheating me the geothermal energy research as fast as possible and get couple of those up and running along with the power towers so i dont have to make tiny little lines and can just jump and essentially fly away with the parachute towards the next one... got like 9 of the running and planning on soon crafting enough materials for setting up all the remaining ones and connecting them all to my power grid so i can just enjoy the free energy from those and that is enough for all the starting stuff before i feel the need to make some heavy duty energy generation... also the extra alien protein into extra DNA is a insane burst in tickets early game and the usage of slugs for power shards is really good since you are halving your need to hunt the slugs if you want to overclock a bit.... also and you can just have 1 machine hooked up that you manually switch between the things instead of having 4 for protein , 1 for dna and 3 for slugs just to gain the extra ones....

Im thinking uranium or plutonium fuel rods would fair well since they are made in the manufacturer and its only 220 after the somersloop multiplier. That along with lets say 10 augmenters if thats even possible and you get an already large amount of nuclear power plus the gigantic boost. That would be my gane plan

I don't think power consumption is the best angle. It completely depends on playstyle and your priorities. Do you want to increase production, or maybe you want to shrink and simplify production lines .. . Imagine how many cast screws you could pump out with only a few machines running at 500% for example. Makes it easy to blueprint small self-contained production buildings you can simply plop down close to some nodes and resources are taken care of. More time you can spend on building a rail network. Satisfactory is a time sink. Use them to make things more convenient and time efficient for yourself. Ada can fudge the numbers for the board.

Power augmenters are a mid game crutch, if you're using an entire fleet of them to maintain your power grid in late game you're trolling yourself.

sorry but that s a pretty disastrous analysis. first I start with the very obvious you should have seen, only use somersloop on machine that are fully powersharded at 250% if not its total a waste of them Then thinks in number of FICSIT point item value per minutes a machine produce at 250% and boost this one, the 2 candidate are the machine producing the AI server, and the one producing the hyperdrive stuff both of them produce around 6 to 8 millions point per minutes all other recipes and machine are far far behind But as you re obviously not an advanced player I would recommend you to use them to fix the production bottle neck in your actual factories but for your next projects avoid production bottleneck to not waist somerloop in them. to conclude don't build power augmenter unless you think you may need more than the 2 TW of nuke power you can create with uranium ore without using any aumgetors (for info I never see a save file using more than 1 TW for production and those a generally absolutly unplayable because the processor is totally maxing, in short power augmentor are just stupid don't build them if you want the find the best use for your sloops.
