for extra context about the angela from silent hill 2 edit, the character’s main backstory is that she is an SA victim so it makes the edit to make her more attractive even worse honestly. she doesn’t need to be attractive and other screenshots of the character show that she IS anyways but people keep using that one screencap of her

IIRC, Angela's story is that she's an incest and CSA victim. Her narrative represents how that destroys victims, and ties into the game's themes of lust and greed. So making her more conventionally attractive is. Horrific.

One of the worst things about transitioning for me was the realization that since I now pass, most women will view me as a threat in public. It makes me so so sad that women would feel unsafe seeing me at night or something walking down the road and there isn't much I can do to mitigate that fear for them. For example if I was walking down the street and a woman was coming at me from the opposite direction I would probably cross the street now just to give her space and not make her feel like I was going to do something bad. Like obviously I understand why, I get it totally, it just feels bad men have made this the reality of life for women.

i’m trans masc. i feel the same way, and i haven’t even started hrt (yet). sometimes people think i’m a woman, sometimes they think i’m a man. i feel uncomfortable walking by men and women on the street at night. i’m afraid the men will see me as a woman, because that makes me a target for harassment/assault. it happens at least once a week; it’s gotten worse recently because i haven’t gotten a hair cut in a while. plus, it’s summer, which means i can’t wear baggy winter clothes to hide my body. i’m also afraid the women will see me as a man. i never want to make any women feel as uncomfortable as i do when i see a man walking near me at night. but at the same time, i’m terrified that someone will see me and think “that person looks too masculine to be a ‘real’ woman, but too feminine to be a ‘real’ man. must be one of those ‘transgenders’.” it feels like a death sentence to be identified or perceived as queer where i live. i wish i didn’t feel the need to think like this and always be on high alert, because i know from personal experience how much it hurts my fellow trans folks, especially those who pass well. i’m so sorry, friend. just know you’re not alone in how you feel. i want nothing more than to live in a world where we can all walk alone at night without feeling afraid, on edge, or like we’re being perceived as a threat to others.

honestly i think crossing the road is mitigating that fear. especially if the other person looks uncomfortable. or, if you see a guy being a creep, step in. as a man, you're on equal footing with him, so calling him out is most likely safe. you could also ofc pretend to know the person they're creeping on and subtly offer them help (pretend you recognise them or that you're friends or dating and ask who the person following them is or whatever).

One of the best takes I’ve ever seen on “friend-zoning” was a comment where OP said “if you’re ‘friends’ with a woman and harboring sexual wishes with her, she hasn’t ‘friend-zoned’ *you*; you’ve ‘sex-zoned’ *her*.” Basically, you both have on the table an agreement that you’re friends. If you are only truly interested in maintaining contact to push a (so far non-consensual because she hasn’t been asked) sexual agenda, the break in trust and problematic status change is on *you*, buddy.

The only time I was called "love" was when I was visitting London and a lady at the reception at my hotel always referred to me like that. Mind you, I didn't hear her say it to others from my group (we were a big group of university students* - around 40 of us, if I remember correctly and we were there for 10 days for a practice abroad). And she was just always so nice and helpful to me, it felt like she was genuine and not just "nice because it's her job to be" or like she uses "love" on a day to day basis when talking to everybody. I really appreciated how she treated me and made sure to show her how much it meant to me. I just looove it when people are being nice to each other, it always warms my heart.

7:17 RE: Friendzone: This advice! It’s worth “confessing” your feelings and seeing where it goes as long as you’re sincerely willing to take rejection because yeah a lot of people just don’t end up being on the same page. My friends had to pressure me into telling one of my good friend’s that I liked her, they were right. After I got that out and she turned me down and we had a chat about it, our friendship got even better afterwards PLUS we were not on the same page so I didn’t have to feel regret or anger about holding it in. But seriously. You have to be willing to let it go, cause she’s probably not into you that way. It’s no one’s fault. Even guys aren’t into every girl so why would the opposite be true!

Look I know it's not the main focus of the video, but *god* I fucking hate the way people complained about Angela's design. For context and spoiler warning for Silent Hill 2: (CW for mentions of SA) Angela is 19 and was sexually assaulted by her father and brother. The idea that she has to be "beautiful" or some shit is disgusting because how are you going to miss the point of her so much to the point that you have to continue needlessly sexualising her? She's even hinted at having body dysmorphia because of what happened to her and it makes me so sad. These people did not play Silent Hill and do not care about the series, they just care about whether or not the barely legal SA victim arouses them.

@sebastianmosqueda5959
@sebastianmosqueda5959 Ай бұрын
@ErutaniaRose Hm, yeah, I'm not sure about that. I think that's a generalization. In my personal experience, it usually just comes down to how effective you are at communicating what is and isn't okay with you. I think so many people depend on body language and social cues that they forget that not everyone's brain works the same way. Therefore, telling someone where your boundaries are outright is the most effective way. However, being effective doesn't always equate to attractiveness. That's where charisma comes into play.

I would love kpop recommendations. I’m also like 95% kpop in terms of what I listen to at this point because it really is so diverse. You have rock, like xdinary heroes, or more rnb like jannabi, and hip-hop like epik high. I could go on and on because I love it but yeah. Give me all your kpop recommendations!

Right like I get that it's SUPPOSED to be cute or whatever but even as a joke it feels gross. 1) it's just weird to joke about your child "stealing" your partner 2) a baby isn't going to understand that your joking. Mom was slipping back and forth between sounding cutesy and sounding genuine, so even trying to identify her tone would be difficult. Overall a very weird gross thing to do to your kid

I think I get the "stop stealing my partner!" videos. It is likely a pretty common feeling for new parents to have, that their child is "taking attention away from them" but most normal people would probably feel pretty awful for having that thought and feel like they are horrible parents for feeling that way, even for a moment. But to have someone take that feeling, turn up the exaggeration to extreme levels to turn it into a joke helps you feel like "ok, maybe I am not alone in having those thoughts and I don't have to beat myself up for feeling selfish for a moment." Sometimes it is cathartic to have the parts of yourself that you are ashamed of held up and mockingly exaggerated so it stops feeling for lonely and shameful. (There are definitely people for whom "the baby is stealing my partner" is not a momentarily guilty thought and is instead a legitimate thing they feel. Those people are not who I am talking about.)

i agree, i just think the framing is weird because it's like, yeah, babies are a lot of work? and it almost blames the child which is another actual issue where people take out this frustration on their child.

What a good brother, caring so much about his sister that he sacrifice is credibility for her. Of course he won't look the photo he so politely asked for, he has his sister. (sarcasm overload and its also a weird creepy excuse)

I've heard it 'daddy' used as a sort of pet-name in two situations: 1. When a parent is referring to a partner while speaking to an infant or very young child. "Daddy's gonna be home soon!" 2. Back in the 40s-50s in America it was used largely by women when speaking to a spouse in the same way "babe/darling" would be. It eventually evolved into "cat daddy" in the later decades before largely falling out of common parlance altogether.

The very first one is funny because of the whole "Look at how ridiculous it is to beef with your INFANT child." Sort of Idea, kinda taking the piss out of boy moms / pick me moms. Not everyone's cup of tea too be certain, but it is amusing to be sure. Plus the kid clearly isn't scared or hurt and is laughing. So no harm done and probably one of the most normal things a straight person online has posted lol.

I honestly thought it was more cute. "Look! I'm fake fighting with this baby and she's acting like a baby! Aw she's adorable!" Fake drama all the way. Also, it is kinda nice that the baby is taking up so much resources from him. The ma was smiling the whole time, she knows that it's a good thing that so much is given to the baby
