These are much more than just organs, reed organs have a character that no other instrument(piano or pipe organ) can express in such a way, that is so beautiful and thoughtful! Can you bring emotion out of a piano? Sure you can, in a different way, whereas the reed organ brings you more variation and more creativity to the mind, I'm always learning different stop variations to try to make different sounds, and of course it helps when you have an organ with more stops to experiment with! I still have alot to learn about emulating the stops into different sounds.

Dr Robert Lowry a pastor and organist composed the music to this beautiful old hymn in 1867 following the death of its author Mrs Annie Sherwood Hawks a Sunday school teacher and choir member at his church
