Incredible! I don’t think I’ve ever heard such a wonderfully expressive singing melody played on any organ before!

Hi Rodney, are the reeds tuned to A440 on this Packard? It sounds like it. It sounds more like a pipe organ than a reed organ. Magnificent sounding

Abide with me, fast falls the eventide The darkness deepens Lord, with me abide When other helpers fail and comforts flee Help of the helpless, oh, abide with me Swift to its close ebbs out life's little day Earth's joys grow dim, its glories pass away Change and decay in all around I see O Thou who changest not, abide with me I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness Where is death's sting? Where, grave, thy victory? I triumph still, if Thou abide with me Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies Heaven's morning breaks, and earth's vain shadows flee In life, in death, o Lord, abide with me Abide with me, abide with me

Amazing grace! how sweet the sound, That saved a wretch; like me! I once was lost, but now am found, Was blind, but now I see. 2 ’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear, And grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed! 3 The Lord hath promised good to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be As long as life endures. 4 When we’ve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we first begun.

Why did this technology go extinct? Not all Models of reed organs do this fantastic sound and capabilities. Sadly the world was sold weak, ineffecient and under developed instruments.

lol! Not quite, but the tablet has face gestures enabled so you can see me squishing my lips to the side when I want the page turned. 😊

👍....Excellent as usual. Question.......does a harmonium generally take less pumping than the suction type reed organ?
@ReedOrgans
@ReedOrgans 9 күн бұрын
When the expression stop is off, they are similar. When it is on, comparison doesn’t really apply since it becomes an entirely different technique to pumping.

I like it on your videographs when you play the loud bits with the heavy and deep bass. Otherwise, usually not.

I really like the tone of the Berlin organ on many of your videos, Beautiful playing too, or course. The Berlin organ sound both warm and articulate to me, distinct and clear bass that compliments the higher frequencies

Hi, I’ve been enjoying your videos as I’m researching sub bass reed organs. Do you have any suggestion on where I might be able to acquire a sub bass reed block for a musical I’m hoping to build (a droning, single-note sub bass instrument for Indian classical music)?

When Hanel was old & his eyesight was failing, he was going to conduct a concert, but when he was told that the organist was to be Stanley, he said. "Haven't you read your Bible? Ifcthe blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the pit!

My favorite rendition of this work! The bell stop adds a whimsical contrast between repetitions of the main theme.
