Jacob Estey & his successors may have produced the most pump organs, but I don't think there's any doubt that the best ones in all the world were built in Ontario. I've never heard of any built in SC, & our 2018 database of the ROS does not show any. Rodney, you were born in the right place just to find them! And hello Carson, I've seen your posting here & elsewhere.

We live in a culture where the sentiment presented by this beautiful composition seems completely unimaginable. But it is very possible that at some point in the future we will see that ultimate transition as a passage to a better world. This music certainly carries a message of reassurance. When we are old and frail may embrace that mindset as the pressures of physical limitations and environmental disaster close in on us.

Thank you for your dedication to sacred organ music. I think it is commendable that you decided to re-record your previous performance. That says a lot about you. BTW: This is a beautiful hymn and played with real sensitivity.

My favorite melody for this poem. Learned this version about 1965, and have never understood why it has been lost to contemporary Christmas recordings.

That is an amazing organ. Your description of the "percussion" mechanism was fascinating. I wonder if you could clarify your description of the wind system. I couldn't quite figure out what you meant. Before I forget, I loved your performance! It seems like the perfect selection to play on this 19th century instrument.
