Hi Mark, just a thought re your river,it may well be one of the nearby lakes doing a draindown, they periodically do it this time of year, especially as there are Carp lakes near you & they need to do a stock check & lake bed clearup, they are only allowed to do a draindown autumn winter.👍

Why don’t you build a small bridge across the stream of your nature reserve it will give you a project to do and also make it easier to access the far side .And also it would I think make a good few videos on the build with little cost.

I started watching after the viral video you put out after your son's visit. To be honest I think it was the title that first grabbed my attention. It was you and your personality that kept me coming back. I enjoy the gardening and house renovations and of course little Teddy but the best part is your chats. I watch far too much news and world events and yours and a couple of other quirky channels are the wholesome bits. I'm not usually a commenter. I will try to think up something to say from now on to help your algorithm, although I always hit the like before I watch.

Marc just love seeing the work on your home&land. Teddy is an absolute joy to watch. With your channel it feels like a chat with a pal. I would never subscribe as a patrion, in my mind it a 2 tier system, those that can afford it or want to be part of the 'inner circle'. Leaving those that cant afford it on the outside. Please continue to do what you do, i just enjoy your posts, Teddy always makes me smile.

Good evening Mark. We like your normal videos and hearing your plans for the house and garden, we even like watching you mowing! We don’t dislike cats, but wouldn’t really watch cat specific videos, so please keep your normal videos going, 10 -15 minutes is ideal for us. We watch lots of videos from people all over the world who are starting a new kind of life, renovating, gardening, doing things themselves, things we would have liked to do if we had the opportunity when we were younger. We are very good at giving you advice that you will never hear while we watch!😆😆😆😆😆

Marc, your channel's USP is YOU and your background story that brought you to France, alone, for a go at a fresh beginning. Your regular viewers admire your decision and take pleasure in watching the day to day improvements and maintenance you carry out to your farm, to get it to what You want it to be - So why not keep combining your day to day routine, working on your home, garden and nature reserve, including (at the end of vlog) a little bit of Teddy and His progress, settling in and growing 👍 ✨ Re: Nature Reserve & 'river' - Not only will it attract more bird species, but amphibians (and possibly certain reptiles) also.. If you could catch some of this activity on a discreetly placed camera, that would be absolutely ACE 👌✨

Teddy is very sweet but I totally understand your wondering if you did the right thing getting him. You were used to living on your own after all. But you have experience looking after animals and it makes sense to get a pet. He’s company for you! What first hooked me in was you being 50+ and being brave and doing something new. I enjoy watching about your daily life and challenges. I love it when Dave was around as he was always causing drama.I’m sure Teddy be a great asset to the channel. Teddy will settle dow and cause you less anxiety when he gets older and goes out more. Interestingly statistically cats are the most watched topic, personally I prefer dogs. cat calendars are very popular! I like seeing what you doing in the garden but I do use the speed up option on the video. I watch a lot of the usual château Channels Dan, Stephanie, a young Irish couple, a Portugal ghost town all doing renovation work. I also like the Scottish isle and abandoned ghost mine that has a mixture of renovation, daily life and history. Short daily videos or one long weekly one

Been watching since the start. You consistently apply yourself to the "task" whether that is the search for a better floor plan, heating, garden, building furniture, animal care, identifying your dietary needs, etc. I keep watching because you change, your home and property change. Like the Mondrian copy you painted, suits you. I would like to see more local bike rides. You looked like you were having fun in the recent one. Same with you walking on the road near your home. The ride and walk put you in "context" beyond your gate. I watch the following because they all work hard, like you, to make their homes/lives better: Journey to the Chateau, Not Quite a Chateau, Escape to Rural France, Brian's Life in France and The Irish Homestead. For "travel/language" I watch Xiaomanyc

I’ve been a long term subscriber and your channel is one of the rare ones that I hit like on each video by default! I enjoy your DIY work on the house and the gardening. I don’t think you should change your formula too much, but I agree with others that adding some slices of local life would be great. You bring a genuineness that is seldom seen on other channels I follow, so don’t change things up too much! Once I get a job again I won’t hesitate to buy you a ko-fi every time you publish. PS: Have you considered painting the gable end of your toolshed to match the house? It triggers my ADHD everytime I see it😂

Concerning other videos I watch all sorts of stuff mainly to do with heating wood cutting and veggie gardens. And some mainstream and independent current affairs vids. Hi Marc, I watched late last night and eyes wouldn't let me comment. Well were do I start, as for this channel you started it as a diary there for i think it should be how you want it to be, and to document what you want to document. I think the majority of regular viewers enjoy most of the content, let's face it you can't please all of the people all of the time. I watch it a because I'm a country girl, I love gardening, I love the outdoors, and nature, I also do my own decorating and some DIY, add to that your chats and moans, with a tongue in cheek attitude and a laugh along the way , ticks my boxes. Getting Teddy was in no way a bad idea, pets are the best company and worth every penny they cost. As for his channel great idea ,people love to watch 100% animal content , and as for your benefit you get to document his growing and how he changes. How to make changes, is a hard one, you've started by adding music which I personally love, and matching the right bit of music to the clip will become easier, last night I thought was spot on,and same wi5h Teddies channel. Add 5o 5hat clever use of camera angles, makes a so so video a better one, again practice makes perfect. You could build a water fall in that nature reserve now lol. Keep up the great work .❤

Hi Marc why do I watch 🤔 I don't know,I follow chateau renovation vlogs full of travel, parties and antique shopping landscaping for escapism I enjoy seeing places I could never afford to travel to and opulent interiors then there is you the complete opposite on your own trying to live and renovate your home and land on no budget no help, no travel, you are reality you are living your dream your best life what you see is what you get. You are true to yourself you show the good and the bad side to living on your own in France so maybe I watch you for balance for reality no fake news . So I watch because I enjoyed the contrasts.

I haven't commented on your content before although I do watch regularly. I enjoy hearing your thoughts about what you are trying to achieve and sometimes you give some information about your experience of your life in France and your local area which also interests me. What I hear you say today is that you have a few reasons behind making videos and an important reason is to generate income. I can understand this. So it appears that the question to ask yourself is something like does the time it takes to make the videos give you enough if they don't make you enough money? Wishing you well 😊

In regards of you making videos every day have them short like 10 mins or a bit longer and I am sure if you go out on your electric bike so people can see the surrounding towns and explain the process of buying a house as people would like to enquire about moving over their and adds extra content to your video's . Good luck .😊

I first clicked on your videos because you bought a farm with land for such a low price and I wanted to see what that was like. I continue watching to see the improvements you make to the house and the property. Teddy is a cute bonus. I would say that to hold my interest, I would like to see some variety. Time lapse strimming is not really why I tune in and I worry, too, that taking away all the underbrush might send the wildlife away. I imagine that some would nest in the undergrowth. If you want to have a nature reserve, it would be good to provide shelter that attracts wildlife. With any luck, I will be in France by the end of next year and find a place to live that I can afford. Perhaps it will be a well-priced farm house :-) but the Charente is a little too cold for me.

I would love to watch you daily with 10-15 minute vlogs. I have been here from the beginning and feel loyal. As the years pass, it's great to see what you have achieved, meaning it's year 3 and you have just adopted a kitten. Am wondering will there be more animals in the future or not??? We wait and see. :)

I watch house restoration videos like Real Algarve Living, The Newbys, The Corner House, Irish Homestead and Project Kamp and Not Useless Yet, Mr and Mrs Adventure and Frankie Off-grid. I like seeing how you improve your house and land. I also watch Itchy Boots (travel) and By The Curb (van life). I like Bald Foody Guy. About 20 minutes is ideal for me unless it's Itchy Boots when several hours would be great. Have you got space to do an Airbnb, for extra income?

I really enjoy your videos. I may have mentioned it’s like looking out of a window watching a neighbour walking round his grounds. I enjoy the walks and just listening. Being single it’s company for me. I’m not recall an animal lover but I enjoy the segments with you kitten. I watch a few KZbin videos on a daily basis and hardly watch any to now. My main videos to watch Escape to rural France, the Chateau Diaries, The moons, The Petherics, Mucky Mansion, Doing it ourselves. Jude rewilding in Scotland (a single man developing a homestead) Lady Colin Cambell. I watch DIY videos painting videos. I love all of your videos and get something from all of you. Do you have any other hobbies you can share with us? Maybe take us on any trips you do when the weather improves! X

We watch because you like to talk and the antics you get up to moving your furniture around. And your daily routine walking up and down your land. Have you any ideas of what you want to do with the land i.e. raising chickens 🐔 selling the eggs on farmers markets and a polytunnel to grow some vegies or raised beds to grow your priduce and sell down the farmers market. What about having bee hives a good money spinner. Or advertize yourself as a odd job no job too small. As you are handy at DIY dobe a good job with those cameras. 😊❤❤

I really enjoy your content.. Could you create a small lke, stick some carp in it, build a small cabin and rent it out as quiet fishing retreat? Big plan I know but it does harness the essence of a nature reserve whilst earning few bucks! Hope your back improves, all the very best to you x

I have injoyed watching your videos from your first when the man on the ferry wasn't happy with you filming he was grumpy ,and your long drive to your sort of home and jungle lol and wow what a difference now , I hope your very proud of what you have achieved, in a strange way it feels like I live there too , I've learnt some plumbing wood work how to build walls and take them down again 😂 two things I couldn't do is get up on the roof or a very long ladder up a tree , I'm so happy you have teddy though he is fun to watch , you make the videos I will watch them ❤❤🖤
