Ok so I have been a man for 67 years. Underwear made from modal fabric is cool, comfortable and fast drying. For nerves I trust my checklists. On every trip I have taken that list with me and made notes of what I used most and why and what I didn't use and why. Other than that it is a vacation and is supposed to be FUN! If you forget something you will have the joy of entering a foreign shopping experience to get what you forgot and maybe find a surprise gem. Sunscreen for your face? A good hat is always your first option. Chemical free, no burning eyes and it might double as a rain hat or sunny day eye shield.

For face sunscreen, I LOVE my "Shiseido Clear Sunscreen Stick SPF 50+". It doesn't count towards liquids because it's a bar, and after I use a face wash and toner, I put the sunscreen on, and my face felt moisturized the whole day.

I can provide a couple of answers. Underwear: I wear a women's style boy short underwear (I got Deep Touch seamless one's from Amazon over 2 years ago and they say they are handwash only but I only wash them in the dryer/washer and they still look brand new). They fit your body at any size, no digging in, no stretching out, no slipping, and dries fast depending on what fabric you get. Since underwear is a high use/high wash item, they will eventually need to be replaced but these have lasted longer than any I've bought before. Fitness: For staying in shape, incorporate more servings of fruit, veggies, and protein to keep you full and your muscles fed. Walking after meals helps speed up digestion and reduce your blood sugar and walking every few minutes after sitting down for 30 adds up quickly. You can still enjoy a burger, fries, dessert etc. just eat your nutritious foods first and space out how many super delicious meals you have with healthier options in between. Anxiety: Take 5-HTP for mood and stress. I'm a very anxious person and that helps along with always arriving early to the airport. Also helps to remind yourself when you are having anxious thoughts, " but what if it turns out great?" and even if you end up in an unplanned situation, chances are you or someone you know has likely been in this situation, and you are capable of getting out of it even if it is difficult, and you'll likely have a fun story afterwards! Choose places that are near health facilities and have health paperwork on you/at your place if that is the biggest concern. Sunscreen: I recommend a Korean or Japanese sunscreen. They are NIGHT and day different from Western sunscreens! I like the brands Thank You Farmer and Isntree.
@daenathedreamy90537 ай бұрын
My friend just recommended me a Korean one (I will look up the brand) and I like it a lot. Comes in a handy stick and doesn’t make my skin fatty and shiny. Sunscreen is never absorbed my my skin and still in the evening I left yucky sticky blobs on armrests. The Korean sunscreen doesn’t do that 😊 I still prefer my UV longsleeve, but for my face it’s the Korean sunscreen now.

Anxiety - you did experience a traumatic event with your husband’s illness. One excellent way to work through it is to write about 20 minutes a day on anything that comes to mind, including any thoughts or feelings you have about the trip to Brazil. You can keep this in a journal or tear it up and toss it as you wish. Happy travels! I really enjoy your channel.

I used to get very depressed the day before I was due to travel, and I travelled a lot in my 20s and 30s. Once I recognised it was a pattern that was probably linked to being anxious about the upcoming trip I recognised it for what it was and simply told myself that I'd be fine, I'd always been fine, I knew how to look after myself when away from home, I'd always come back safe and sound, and I always, always, always followed the best advice I've ever been given by an ex-policeman on a trip. Keep your return ticket or fare available, no matter where you are in the world, and enough money to keep hydrated while waiting to travel for three days. Anyone can survive without food for three days, but not without water. I've stuck to that bit of safety advice on every trip and no longer get anxious or depressed in the 24/36 hours before departure. Good luck and bon voyage!

Underwear. I hear your pain and will be watching the comments very carefully on this. I want to wear bamboo because they are so comfortable BUT they take forever to dry and I don’t take them anymore. The best I’ve found is Sloggi Hikini by triumph. They are 91% cotton 9% elastine. They are very comfortable, durable and they seem to dry quicker than 100% cotton - I guess because of the elastine. But still looking for the perfect undies. I can’t believe I’m writing about this!

Regarding fitness on the road: Use grocery shopping in ways that will provide decent resistance training. Get your water in six packs and not from the closest store possible. Carry it home in different positions. If it is too easy, hold it away from your body as long as you can. When you are at your accommodations, try doing your evening wash up/brush up while standing on one foot. When you are responding to messages, try to do one from a plank position. After a few days, try doing two. These are powerful exercises that disappear into your routine. At first, they suck but if you stick to them and extend the duration bit by bit you will feel as if you can wrestle a bear.

Underwear: Patagonia - I've had some going on 10 years now! Workout: Apple Fitness - you can customize what equipment and impact level you want. Also those stretchy bands pack easily and let you do a LOT of low-impact workouts that don't need a floor. Anxious: Checklists for the worry you forgot something, noise-cancelling headphones work so well to help me disconnect from chaos of travel, talking to your partner about what worries you so they can have your back to head off issues. Sunscreen: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer. Works so well and leaves my skin feeling nice. I'm allergic to 99% of sunscreens out there and this one doesn't make me red, itchy, and it doesn't burn if some gets in my eyes. LOVE it! Bag: haven't found the bag yet, but would love to hear when you find one!

Just came across this video. I take On Gossamer underwear, I like the hi-cut brief but they have other styles. These are super thin, mesh underwear that I can wash in the sink and they dry within hours. They run about $20 US each, but I can usually find a sale. I usually take 4-5 pairs, I only use them when I travel. I just came back from a 2-month trip and that's all I took. Sunscreen: I like Madagascar Centella Skin 1004, Eelhoe Hyaluronic Acid Watery Sun Gel, and HaruHaru Wonder Black Rice Moisture Suncreen; all are asian sunscreens with skin care ingredients and spf 50. I don't have any great advice for anxiety other than that most problems can be solved with a credit card. As I get older I've realized what a gift it is to be able to travel, and it's all one big adventure. Also music usually calms me, along with wine. Happy travels.

Love this! Some things that work for me: 1. Modibodi period underwear really works for me, although the thicker the absorption the longer it takes to dry and quicker it wears out 2. Workouts. I love swimming and I also do BJJ no-gi. It is fun visiting new dojos and I can have a fun intense roll on holidays 3. Something that helped my pre travel anxiety was recognising that it was my physiological expression of excitement, not actually fear. 4. I like Bondi sands sunscreen, I feel that it doesn’t make me look pale or my skin look dry 5. For 30L I’d recommend hands down a Tom Bihn Synik 30 if you travel with a laptop. The Tom Bihn synapse 25 might also work, as it’s the older model. Happy travels!

Thanks for the great suggestions. I can well imagine that it's fun to visit new dojos - and maybe it‘s also a good way to get in touch with locals. I've heard before about how anxiety and excitement feel the same, but it never occurred to me that I could do that before a trip. It would make sense to be super-excited - and not super-anxious…. 😂

Its also useful to understand where the anxiety before traveling comes from. Why you're anxious might reveal different solutions. One exercise you might find useful, try doing a short international trip (maybe a long weekend or so), and push yourself to only take (0) prescription meds (1) your passport (2) your wallet and (3) your phone (you can even "forget" the charger if you want to really push it), and don't have any accomodation or other plans booked ahead of time (until you land). Then give yourself the gift of figuring it out and still enjoying the trip. Its not how I recommend traveling normally, but we always talk about "you can just buy it there if you need it" and rarely use that and I think we get anxious about the uncertainty of it all. I had a trip once for 10 days, where I actually forgot my wallet. In Australia, its easy to use your phone (digital credit cards) for everything. Granted I had my other gear but I had to find a way to make it work and it made me feel less stressed before many trips, even though I still struggle to sleep the night before a big flight.
@MaggiFuchs6 ай бұрын
Thank you for that comment. I agree, it‘s important to know where the anxiety comes from. I think in my case, I am just worried that something bad happens to my husband again. So you are correct, I also worry a lot about the uncertainty. And even though I know it can‘t get much worse than what happened to us in Brazil and I know that I managed to deal with it, it‘s just always in the back of my head. But I refuse to just sit at home until the end of days because I‘m too anxious to travel. 😂

i can't help with most of those problems, but i've been doing a bunch of bag research recently as well. Here is what I'm narrowing down to: - Evergoods Civic Travel Bag (CTB) 35 - (This seems to hit a good sweet spot of features and lightweight) - Pakt Travel Bag v2 (with packable day pack) - (I have the original and I wasn't ready for the 35L size, but the new one has several improvements that look great) - Peak Design Travel Backpack (I have the original 45L version, and its great. The new 35L version might be great for you) - Outdoor Vitals KotaUL (I already have this and quite enjoy it, but i'm surprised more people haven't reviewed it. Its very lightweight, functional and rides well) - GoRuck GR2 (probably not your typical aesthetic, but very robust and might be worth considering)

For exercise, look for body weight workouts, or even yoga. Yoga With Adriene has a million videos with different goals, including routines for travel. You’re probably in better shape than you think, but adding some upper body body weight moves can help. Magnesium can really help with anxiety. Just research which type! You don’t want the wrong one. Same with B12 but you need the more expensive methylcobalamine form. Valerian root is calming, and Rescue Remedy tincture. Super Sleep is very good as long as well.

Hi Maggi, I want to thank you for all the amazing and helpful videos! We are living in Australia where sun protection is very important. I have tried many many facial and body sunscreen products before. My current favorite for outdoor activities (I use them for walks, hiking, and fieldwork) and most effective Cancer Council's Active Sunscreen. It is not my first choice if I am not staying outdoor for long hours as I am not a fan of its (slight) greasiness. Its greasiness is not the worst I have tried on my skin before, but it is slightly greasy. By far, it is the most effective, most protective, and can be easily applied to my whole body if I am doing fieldwork in remote Australia. For everyday and urban conditions, I recommend Birch Juice Moisturizing Tone-Up Sunscreen and Shiseido Perfect UV Protector (Very Water Resistant version). These two are my top selections because they are both SPF 50+, non-greasy (they really are non-greasy to me), and moisturizing (my skin type is combination). I personally would not recommend the Shiseido stick unless a solid option is very important to you. I find the product not as convenient as I expected since I still need to use my hand to ensure it has been applied evenly on my face, which, to me, loses its key feature.

Sunscreen for the face rec -- I've been using Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence for my face sunscreen because I hate too heavy of a cream on my face, and I also don't like the white cast. It's great and is so light and absorbs in very quickly to let you move on to adding any other make-up or masks/hats! There is a different one with *almost* the same name called Biore Aqua Rich Watery *Gel*; that one is a different formula and I don't like it as much for my face, but that's the one I use for the rest of my body, especially my shoulders/chest when I'm wearing tanks or v-necks.

Yes, I traveled to five countries in Europe last November/December with a small roller suitcase and my laptop sized backpack. My advice about underwear is to pack seven pairs for each day of the week, 100% cotton preferably. I also took two bras. These items are easy to pack by rolling them and tucking them into the extra spaces of your bag. Cotton underwear is much easier to hand wash than polyester and dries faster. You will not run out of undies with seven pairs, and you won't be washing them as often because you have more of them so they will last longer. As for anxiety (which we all have when traveling), I do a lot of long deep breathing exercises for anxiety and also write in a journal while traveling. It helps. For exercise, good old walking is the best in my experience. Don't spend too much time in your hotel. Walk everywhere. You'll see more things, meet more people, and get the exercise you need. I can't remember your other two questions. Good luck!

Sunscreen: Isdin Fusion Water 50 (spanish brand I think). Bioré Aqua Rich Watery Gel 50 (Japan but available widely since so popular). Underwear: Best and comfiest ever, the seamless no-show type from Victoria’s secret. Available in many airports, also in muted colors with no frills, various shapes. Very light and fast-drying and have lasted years.

Exercise - Resistance.Bands - they fold up really easy and you can do a variety of great workouts that don't make noise but really help tone your body - that in combination with all your walking and hiking could really help. I'm also in the process of trying out different backpacks so will post if I find one I like - I just ordered an Alpaka and have high hopes for it. We will see. I also get really anxious before I travel and I travel internationally a lot - I try to sit and think of all the amazing things I've done and seen when I travel and how much I enjoy it and that helps me relax a little. And once I'm off, I'm usually ok.

Underwear: Jockey Comfies Microfiber French cut - super lightweight, packs up tiny and dries fast; another option is exofficio (much more expensive), and Lululemon has some good options too. Workouts while traveling: just walk or go swimming if there is a pool/beach Anexiety: not sure, just do it and have faith you're prepared for what life throws at you Sunscreen: powdered with a brush is one of my go to options. For liquid type, I only do mineral sunscreen - Blue Lizard stick is good (not liquid for traveling), or Coppertone Pure & Simple Baby stick (again not liquid for travel), and Badger unscented (it's a cream, so a liquid when traveling)....I personally don't wear sunscreen all the time, only when I'll be out in direct sun for longer periods of time, so I don't need much with me. Bag: Tom Bihn Synik 30 is fantastic (though if you want really light and small, the Synik 22 is awesome too and I prefer it)

Maggi you have helped me so much. I am so impressed that you choose to ask for suggestions! Underwear is the easiest-I like wool underwear! So durable and usually doesn’t have to be cleaned every day! I have bought from Merino Country (Australia) for 10 years. Even with shipping it is cheaper than cotton underwear. In the U.S. a strong contender is the Roam underwear by Wooland. They also have wonderful shirts, leggings and pants. So durable and comfortable! But maybe expensive to import where you are.

Great questions! I have just tested some Modibodi wool/bamboo underwear while travelling, which were comfortable and dried very quickly after washing. Can't guarantee on how long they last, as they are still fairly new, but I like them so far (fit, comfort, breathability etc). For the rest I still use 100% cotton undies (Marks & Spencer), as I can't handle synthetic fabrics for undies. They dry pretty well and last at least 2 years for me (though I have a few). Would love them to last longer, but not been successful yet. I have tried activewear styles like Lululemon, but the synthetic fabric smells bad after a while and really irritates my skin, so those are the worst for me. For fitness - I would love to know as well, we walk a lot when travelling but the good food does seem to be adding to the waistline and I also feel less fit than I want to be. Therabands maybe? Know people that just run longish distance everyday so they can eat whatever they want (12km every day!) while travelling and stay fit, but not sure if feasible for everybody. Anxiety - is tricky as everybody has different reasons for being stressed. I still stress before travelling, I think it is quite normal to have some concerns. I am not a professional but I do find working through each "worst case"/ possible stress point and deciding how you will respond to it if it happens helps me. If you can go through each concern/ fear individually and work out a plan, you may feel more in control/ able to handle whatever may come your way. It takes a bit of time to work through them, but I find it helps (I also do this together with my husband once I have a basic plan, so he also knows my fears and how I might tackle them and he gives suggestions and his own worries too, so we work on them together a bit and then just acknowledge these concerns/ things are there and we have each other's backs/ best interests in mind). Then once we take off/ drive off I imagine all these things going into a little/ big ball, reminding myself I have a plan/ can figure out a solution to potential problems and then breathe them out into the world and let them go (as much as possible). It sounds silly, but works for me! I think anything which works for you is of value, try a few suggestions out and see if anything helps you. Sunscreen - I just tried the le roche posay sun stick for travelling in Italy and it is ok, but not great. I found I struggled to know where it had gone on properly/ not and thus got a little bit of sunburn. I generally use Dermalogica sunblock as I have very fair and sensitive skin and this has never failed me, but it is not matte/ oil free and only liquid. Also on the hunt for a better travel option once the stick is finished. Tempted by all the K-brand recommendations here, maybe a good option. Bags - I have an Osprey Farpoint and love it. Don't think a perfect bag exists, but I like it and it works for me. We did extensive research for bags and although many nice ones around I still like this one (price to value ratio as well). Also look at Alpaka, Pakt, TomToc - nice bags too. I clip a water bottle to the backpack currently with a carabiner. I find there are so many opinions and reviews out there, it is difficult to know what is actually good/ just sponsored and not really tested long term. I have found many of your recommendations super helpful for our travels and wish I could help more! Hope you find great solutions to your problems!
@MaggiFuchs7 ай бұрын
Thank you so much for your comment and your recommendations - that was extremely helpful. I like your technique to deal with anxiety and I really like the idea to go through it together with my husband. So I will try it on the next trip. We start in 5 weeks so I have a some time to prepare. 💪 And I totally agree about how hard it is to figure out what‘s actually good and not sponsored. I have one advantage now since I have that channel: I get bombarded by emails from people who want me to show their products - and it is interesting to see on how many channels soon afterwards those recommendations pop up (and it could be a total coincidence, so I don’t want to assume, but more often than not it is not stated that they got the product for free or they were paid). I usually don‘t even bother anymore to reply to the sponsorship requests unless it is something I really would like to test, and then I usually reply something along the line that I will take no money for it, that I don‘t guarantee if I will ever show it and that it will be 100% my honest opinion. And then most of them don‘t reply back, and the few that do are usually saying something like „We totally understand. When can you publish it and if you don‘t like it then please don‘t publish anything.“ 😂 I guess I am not someone that most brands enjoy to work with, and I am totally fine with that. Maybe it‘s because I am older - I already sold my soul to my former career, so I will definitely not risk my dignity over a piece of gear that cost them a few Euros to produce… 😂

Well, about underwear, when I’m traveling I prefer taking only microfiber material, that dry very fast ( cotton ones I use at home) but I use a local brand (I’m Brazilian) that a love, it’s durable, comfortable and not expensive ( not cheap either). Sunscreen I use the matte finish oil free bb cream by L’Oréal - it gives a natural coverage and I also use as a light foundation for day to day. The other one I use, no color, oil fee and with higher fps is from a local brand also Anasol ( if you ever come back to Brazil, try them). To exercise, whenever I travel by car, I normally take my equipment to work out but if I’m going abroad, and there’s no gym, I simply try to walk and or runs, at least 3x a week, just to keep mooving.

For yoga, I’ve never tried them, but I believe you can use sort of socks and gloves so you don’t need a mat. Also you can always stretch on a bed / couch. 2. There are also some standing workouts (with no jumping) as well as yoga standings flows 3. Not sure. 4. SKIN1004 Hyalu-CICA Water-Fit Sun: i’ve never tried it, but I’ve heard great things about it 5. Hi! Thanks for asking-I’m curious about some of these things too. I know you’re not a wool fan (watched that video) but honestly the best underwear ive ever had for traveling, climbing mountains, even/especially for hot humid conditions has been wool. It is durable, odor and microbe resistant, and drys exceptionally quickly. I like Woolly brand but there are a ton out there. As for testing new travel gear-i LOVE my Tortuga backpack it is 35 litter but it is a version they don’t sell any more. For stress and fitness-i would try some breathing exercises-anything that keeps you in the present moment and helps you to reduce cortisol and keep from holding on to calories, affects sleep, and slows your metabolism. As a more mature woman, i would also highly recommended strength/resistance exercises over trying to get skinny -your heart and bones will thank you. I know you don’t want to bring equipment but some good resistance bands squeeze in anywhere and a youtuber that you like using them will go a long way.
@MaggiFuchs6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the great recommendations. Well, it‘s not that I dislike wool per-se. I also own a few pieces and like I said in the video, when Merino is great, it‘s great. But I got disappointed so many times and spent a lot of money on Merino products that were not worth it. And I strongly believe that they are not the „single best option“ for travel clothes, there are also other materials that work just as well and are less of a strain to my little wallet. 😅 But I am already working on my video about how I choose my clothes for travel, there I will elaborate that a little bit further. 🤗 I already ordered some resistance bands… 💪 And while getting a little bit skinnier would not hurt (especially for hiking, I hate it that I have to carry around the weight of a heavy packpack with me - without even having a backpack 😂), my main concern would be out of breath less and become a little bit stronger… not getting any younger, and the joints and the back are not what they used to be… 😂 I‘m definitely not a teenager anymore, but that „mature woman“ hit hard… 😂😘 Now that you‘re saying it, I haven‘t been asked for my ID in a loooong time… 🤔😂

Cereve moisturizer has sunscreen in it. It’s designed by dermatologists. It’s a little more expensive but I use Tarte BB cream for travel. A little goes a long way and it’s 50 UV protection. I wore it on an airboat in a swamp, but I forgot to put it under my bangs. The airboat blew my bangs back so I was sunburned there. But the Tarte protected my face from sun, wind and sweat.

Garnier Ambre Solaire has a range of facial sunscreens that work very well and they're widely available. Ziaja has a Med line that's for sensitive skin, and their SPF 50 matifying cream for combination skin is my favorite. As far as underwear go, I don't know how well these would do with handwashing - but all I've had for the past 2 years were those "days of the week" Calvin Klein underwear. So I rotated between seven pairs for this entire time, and put them in the washer-dryer every Sunday. It's only now that one pair has had some fabric rip at the seam.

Then where ever you are in the world, you can visit various clubs. You can do nogi (no gi), which means you wouldnt have to lug a heavy gi around with you. The Sloggi brand produces high-quality underwear. I'm not entirely sure what specific issue you have with your underwear, but if it's related to overwear of the central part, I recommend using Tena everyday pads as they provide extra protection. As for sunscreen, I currently use Dermagenetic's tinted mat SPF 50 which doesn't leave a white residue or feel like a primer. However, it's important to always use a moisturizer underneath sunscreen to avoid dryness. I have combination skin and use a lightweight aloe moisturizer from Holika Holika. Applying just sunscreen alone can cause a dry sensation.
@MaggiFuchs6 ай бұрын
Thanks for the suggestions. Haha, well, my main issue is probably the fit (I hate it when they start to roll up or start to crawl into areas where they should not go) and also the quality - I had so many underpants where the seams opened or the elastic part starts to have lose yarns hanging out and stuff (and I am not even buying anything with lace anymore, I gave that up a long time ago)… 😂 I added a your suggestions to my list of things to try. Thank you.

Love your videos by the way. I found Exofficio underwear worked well for me in the past. They are light and dry fast and they lasted a long time. I’m now looking into merino as a replacement. For exercise, I find exercise bands and Yoga are my go to when travelling. The bands are small and don’t take much space in my bag and Yoga doesn’t require any equipment. There are loads of exercise positions that don’t require you to lay on the floor. This is something you can do outside in a grassy park as well. I use the chair from the room for certain positions. My husband even does yoga now too to stay in shape. We both eat healthy and do 2 days a week of intermittent fasting to keep our health and weight down. That has made a huge difference. Our doctor couldn’t believe how excellent our blood tests improved. I’m still looking for a bag with the same criteria as you. If I find one, I’ll let you know.

1 . Thunderpants - they are a New Zealand brand. SUPER comfortable underwear. In no way are they sexy, but that is not a priority for me. I just did a 6 month trip and took 7 pairs with me and they held up fantastically (they weren't even brand new when we left). The only downside is that they are probably a bit bulkier than other brands, and being cotton they can sometimes take a while to dry. 2. If I am in a place for a week I will often look ahead to find a gym (or my favourite - reformer Pilates studio) most places have an 'introductory offer' for a week at a reduced price. Then I can go there to work out. 4. There is no way that a powder sunscreen can give you enough protection - you cant apply enough of it to achieve the stated protection factor. Recently I have been using the Eucerin Sensitive protect 50 SPF, I think it is marketed for children but I have really liked it. The Neutrogena dry touch sunscreens are my other favourites.

Effective and simple and uses 1 small light piece of equipment and needs a small area of outside space. And at the other end of the spectrum Crossfit - certainly not cheap and has its detractors (with some reasonable criticisms) But can be very effective and very easy to 'get into' for a lot of people. Gyms worldwide but all following the same program so good for people travelling.And gyms generally have a welcoming community type spirit. Underwear: I recently bought both Woolly and Branwyn wool underwear. The Branwyn are thicker but a little tight on me (my incorrect size guess). I really love the Woolly ones. Sunscreen: Mineral only sunscreens will make it so they shouldn't bother your eyes. I use a tinted mineral to avoid white cast. (Elta MD, but but they've just reformulated/renamed the one I use and I haven't tried the new one yet.). Like another posted mentioned, Angie Hot n Flashy on youtube reviews sunscreens every May - she just released this year's reviews. But she has tons on her website - great starting point. Anxiety: Funny enough, a trip to the grocery story gives me more anxiety than traveling. BUT it's probably because I use my skills when traveling but don't think I should need them going to the store. Coping ahead - planing ahead is the best thing for me. Think of what makes you anxious, what triggers you, and think of how you can handle it ahead of time. Try to imagine living through it, what you can do to help. For travel, I do so much planning/research that I have a good idea of how things will (hopefully) go. Also, accumulating positive experiences, knowing you have gotten through things in the past, you'll succeed in the future. Good luck with this! I'm looking forward to your bag reviews! I just bought/used the aer travel pack 3. I like it, but it's a bit heavier than I'd prefer (lots of pockets/storage add weight). I really enjoy your videos - thanks!

Thanks for the great tips! :) I heard lots of good things about the Aer backpack - unfortunately they are not really available in Europe. I hope you have lots of exciting adventures with your new bag. 🤗

For a bag: in that size range, and with lightweight needing to be a key feature, you can’t beat the Patagonia Black Hole 32 litre. I also have the Osprey Arcane Duffle 30 litre, but I am much preferring the Patagonia. As well as being very lightweight, it’s comfortable, not too bulky, and holds a surprising amount. The catch is it doesn’t open clamshell style, but since I use packing cubes that’s not such a problem, because even if I suddenly need something at the bottom of the bag, I just need to pull out a few cubes to get to it.

1. Underwear from Hunkemoller - they sometimes have a 6 pack made of 100% cotton (I find this more important than quick drying because polyester is not so good for vulva health especially long term), Brazilian shape/cut, and there are no hems on the... ends? The fabric is just cut and not hemmed so they are less visible under clothes. I have a couple in a skin tone for light colored clothes but otherwise around 20 pairs of dark ones and I also use them for travel. If you have access to Tezenis (usually in Spain or Portugal or Italy but now I see them in more countries), they have a similar style of underwear without hems in multiple colors and also multiple cuts. I find those are a bit lower quality, maybe because they have more elastane, especially the thongs will get a bit stretched out at the gusset after a few months, but they are so comfortable and cheap that it's worth it for me. I will also sometimes just discard the old pairs at the end of trips so it's OK with me. 2. Buy a set of booty bands! There are a lot of videos on workouts with them on KZbin. They don't take a lot of space and it's a lot better than working out without any resistance 3. Beauty of Joseon stick, or Biore Aqua Rich if you're OK with a liquid/gel in your kit!

Thanks for the suggestions. :) I added them to my list of things to try and I already ordered the Beauty of Joseon stick to test this summer. 💪

Hi Maggi I suggest resistance bands for fitness, the type with handles. They're lightweight for packing, and they anchor easily over closed doors and around doorknobs. Your workouts are then silent, and you can scale up or down based on your fitness level and time available. Sorry, can't help with the undies :-(

Angie from Hot and Flashy just released her annual comprehensive test of mineral sunscreens. Her channel is amazing for all skin care challenges.

Yes! In general, you’d only get white cast from mineral sunscreen. Perhaps looking into chemical sunscreen if you’re ok with it. Like many have said, Korean sunscreens are affordable and amazing. HOWEVER, I do want to caution that many Korean sunscreens are designed for urban use and are not water resistant aka not suitable for water activities or excessive sweating. Japanese sunscreens, on the other hand, have many water resistant formula and still affordable, light, and ghost cast free thanks to its high humidity in the summer. Biore is a good brand to start. 😊
