I am now the proud owner of 2 Peak Design packing cubes - based on your recommendations. So thsnk you. They work better for the shape of my Osprey carryon suitcase. I notice from the information they send that they are guaranteed for life as long as I register my purchase with them. Maybe your tote is also covered under this guarentee??🤔🤔

Thank you for your review. I have a Revolut account which is great mainly using where I can buy currency and store at a great exchange rate on the card. I use other debit cards which charge no international exchange fees and are also very good on the exchange rate. I can freeze my debit cards when not in use too. The Revolut card is free here in Australia but the Wise Card has a nominal fee. ATM, I am finding it a little difficult to just have the Wise card activated for use on my Google Wallet. Regards, J

Hi Maggi, I want to thank you for all the amazing and helpful videos! We are living in Australia where sun protection is very important. I have tried many many facial and body sunscreen products before. My current favorite for outdoor activities (I use them for walks, hiking, and fieldwork) and most effective Cancer Council's Active Sunscreen. It is not my first choice if I am not staying outdoor for long hours as I am not a fan of its (slight) greasiness. Its greasiness is not the worst I have tried on my skin before, but it is slightly greasy. By far, it is the most effective, most protective, and can be easily applied to my whole body if I am doing fieldwork in remote Australia. For everyday and urban conditions, I recommend Birch Juice Moisturizing Tone-Up Sunscreen and Shiseido Perfect UV Protector (Very Water Resistant version). These two are my top selections because they are both SPF 50+, non-greasy (they really are non-greasy to me), and moisturizing (my skin type is combination). I personally would not recommend the Shiseido stick unless a solid option is very important to you. I find the product not as convenient as I expected since I still need to use my hand to ensure it has been applied evenly on my face, which, to me, loses its key feature.

Can you make quick guidance about how to fill in the form and how to write proper email to them or maybe how to find airlines contact emails and thanks a lot for useful informations
@MaggiFuchs
@MaggiFuchs 6 күн бұрын
There are already lots of great resources online that show exactly that. I don’t think it’s a good idea for me to reinvent the wheel - there are just too many different combinations to fill this out, depending on your case. :) And I would just contact the customer service, if you can’t find an eMail use their contact form. Usually, you can upload a file there. If not, then I would just reply to the confirmation eMail they send. I hope that helps. :)

Directly to the airline. If you can’t find a email address, then try to use the contact form and upload it there.

Dear Maggi: thanks for your video. Couple of questions: is it easy to return the money left from your trip to your usual bank account? I would like to travel to Uzbekistan: in this type of countries, which of the cards you think it would be stronger to use in ATM and usual payments? Thanks a lot for your video, that is what I wanted to see!
@MaggiFuchs
@MaggiFuchs 9 күн бұрын
Yes, it‘s very easy to return the money back. You could just wire it back. I usually use up the money at home by just paying with card. Unfortunately, I haven‘t been to those countries yet, so I am afraid I am not a big help on the second question. :)

Have to disagree with the first 3. Hero clip is great for keeping my travel bag off the floor. Especially good in airport bathrooms. My Incharge cable lives on my keys in my pocket and has saved myself and other multiple times over the years (I've just upgraded after a date used it and didn't return it). I keep a water bottle clipped to the side of my travel bag (I'm not wasting space inside the bag for a water bottle). Fill it at the airport for travel and fill it from the large 5 litre bottles families tend to buy in Spain.

Thanks for such an in-depth review! My partner has travelled with this bag for years and it works well for him, but it doesn't work for me, largely because of the things you mentioned here. Bags are such personal choices and while it's a bummer this one isn't your perfect bag, at least we all got a very thorough review out of it!

It‘s true, it‘s so different for everyone - that‘s why I tried to just share my perspective on what worked / didn‘t work for me instead of the „the best bag ever“ approach. 😂 And I can totally understand why it works well for your partner. :)

Travel sized Rummikub is a revelation, that's one of my family's favorite games to play together but the box is big and chunky so we don't usually bring it on trips but a travel sized one sounds amazing!! It would probably be easier to play on a little table too, I have a teeny deck of cards and I've found that they're great for solitaire if you only have a small surface available because the cards are so much smaller. I will need to consider picking that up!
@MaggiFuchs
@MaggiFuchs 12 күн бұрын
We love Rummikub and play almost daily to see who has to do the dishes… There is the normal travel version that most people prefer - it comes in a red/beige pouch. The one I have is extremely tiny, the stones are not much thicker than a cardboard, and I have never seen it anywhere except at the toy store I bought it in Austria. It‘s more difficult to play with this one because the stones are so small - especially on a windy day. 😂 So if you have the space, the standard travel version is better imho.

I do my laundry before going to bed, then hang them on a line strung in the shower to drip dry 80%. They can dry the next day in the sun or will air dry in a room or with a hair dryer. I use very little detergent (a quarter of your sheet). PreSoaking them eliminates a lot of physical labor and I do one quick rinse. It's just a little sweat and body oil to wash out.

I am very spoilt with the quality of my water, so as soon as it tastes like chlorine or something, I have a hard time drinking it. The Grayl has a charcoal filter inside that filters out wierd flavors. It‘s doing a good job in my opinion.

There are tons of huts like this scattered all over the Alps, with varying grades of difficulty to hike to and there are also many long distance trails from hut to hut. The huts have an online reservation system. www.alpenverein.at/portal/huetten-wege/ohrs/index.php In the high season (July / August / Sept) you need to book quite early to get a spot, especially when you want to stay in a room and not in the dorm. :)

I was wondering how you would go with such a heavy weighted bag, and now I know. As an Australian who lives with 7kg weight limit allowances here, but also throughout nearby countries like New Zealand and Asia as well, this bag has never been a consideration. It has always seemed to me as top quality but over-engineered… which adds weight.

And it‘s sooo hard to choose a bag without testing, and where I live, I have no chance to see any of those backpacks in real life… I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to test them and that‘s why I try to make the reviews that „I wish I would have seen“, if that makes sense.

I have been eyeing one of those super-tiny silk liners… 😂 but I think for the few nights a year where I use it, it‘s not worth the price. And the Meru one has been fabulously - I purchased it about 12 years ago on sale for a few €€ and it does the job very well. I have the microfiber one, so it also dries quickly between uses.

The huts are not heated, but everyone gets a thick wool blankets to wear over the liners. And if you sleep in the dorms shoulder on shoulder with lots of other people, it never gets too cold anyways… 😅
