Hello. I am a South African and I want to know how you could help teach me and my community these ideas. We are really struggling for water, clean air and cheap building material and construction ideas. Another problem is the transport cost. If we find cheaper solutions for these things, we will be solving the poverty problem for our communities. Warm Regards to you, your family and your community.

A lot of water I wasted every time it rains. Don’t waste them! Let’s create a rainwater harvesting system. Create a rain gutter from the roof. The mesh layer prevents fallen leaves from clogging the gutters. Create a special water lock. And next a special function container would be created. A specially designed stove for winter use. When the dedicated tank is full, the rainwater is transferred to a dedicated storage system. Nice inventions, innovations, and creative work that conserve water and energy!
@HolicCreation14 күн бұрын
Absolutely! It’s a great idea to save rainwater and use it for multiple purposes around the house. Installing a rain gutter system to collect the water, using mesh to prevent leaves and debris from clogging it, and designing a water lock system to ensure the water is filtered and stored properly are all smart solutions. The addition of a special storage system for rainy days and a stove for winter heating is innovative, as it helps reduce energy consumption while making use of the collected water. Have you considered using this rainwater for other household uses, like flushing toilets or irrigation, to make the most of it? What’s your next step in improving your system?

@HolicCreation13 күн бұрын
Thanks so much for the creative idea! Yes, using a metal tub instead of a bucket can make a very cool little outdoor hot tub! As for your question, the green mesh on the roof helps protect the water system from large debris falling down, but on the bottom, the mesh is not necessary because the water is already filtered above. Glad to hear you like the video end cap tip! Do you have any other ideas to improve this system?

Gray PVC I believe has lead in it to make wire pulling easier.
@HolicCreation24 күн бұрын
Your concern is valid. However, some grey PVC pipes may contain lead if they are manufactured using older processes or lower standards, as lead was once used as a heat stabilizer in PVC production to reduce costs and improve heat resistance. However, in modern, safety-compliant PVC products, lead has been replaced by safer stabilizers such as calcium-zinc or tin. Current standards (such as the international RoHS and REACH standards) restrict or prohibit the use of lead in PVC products, especially those that come into contact with potable water. If PVC pipes are used for water supply systems or applications with high safety requirements, you should choose a lead-free type and look for safety certifications from the manufacturer to ensure that the product does not contain toxic substances. And the PVC pipe I used in this video is lead-free, it meets all safety standards. Have a nice day !

Actually collecting Rain water is how I have lived for over 25 years. All my water falls from the sky and I have 50,000 liters storage with 1500 square meters of roof collection. 90% of my water is Gravity Direct, [all but the hot water and the cold balance for showers in cold needs to be moved higher for better pressure. Kitchen pressure gardening and all others are direct off a roof/tank/gravity fed costs me nothing and very little to set up. My top 45,000 liter tanks are sourced by my 2 x 5000 liter tanks and are pumped up 100 meters by Solar Power when I have the power. When thinking of Occupying/buying Land your list is 1. Water 2. Power to move that water - 3 Tanks to store that Gold 4. Cameras to charge your neighbours for Using your water ...
@HolicCreation23 күн бұрын
That’s an impressive setup! Relying on rainwater collection, gravity feed, and solar power really gives you independence. And I agree-water storage and management should be high priorities when planning a sustainable homestead. The "charging neighbors" part adds a nice touch too!

what about particle filter and mesquitoes? other than that your on the right track
@HolicCreation27 күн бұрын
Great thinking! Adding a particle filter would help remove sediment, while a mosquito-proof mesh or screen would prevent insects from getting into the water source. Both are excellent for maintaining clean and safe water, especially in areas with mosquito activity. Are you interested in more filtration options or other ways to keep the system low-maintenance?
@wmman825626 күн бұрын
@@HolicCreation Yes you have a great idea! First I would have used a window screen to keep the largest particles out of the water catchment system & the water after its I the storage tank. That keeps mosquitoes out of the water storage tank and prefilters the largest particles out of the tank.

Debería hacer un algiber (contenedor de cemento) para almacenar mucha agua para muchos días.
@HolicCreation8 күн бұрын

Could have skipped the vast majority of the 4 inch pipes and just gone straight to the 55 gallon barrels. In fact the money you would have saved on all that plumbing would have probably bought you quite a few more barrels. Simply draining into the barrels and then plumbed from the barrels to your water heater! You could also have insulated some of the barrels as a hot water reserve or tank if you will!
@HolicCreation22 күн бұрын
Great! Thank you very much for this advice. Actually I do zigzag pipe system to heat limited amount of water in it. Because the 55 gallon tanks are connected in series, so if we heat water it will consume more fuel. Your way is also great. I will keep it in mind. Have a nice day

For drinking water, this bothers me a bit. I have been using rain water to flush the wc for years, that works for me.
@HolicCreation3 күн бұрын
Using rainwater for non-potable purposes like flushing the toilet is a great way to conserve resources! It’s a cost-effective and eco-friendly solution. However, when it comes to drinking water, it's important to take extra precautions. While rainwater is generally clean at first, it can pick up contaminants from the atmosphere, rooftops, and gutters. If you want to use it for drinking, it’s advisable to filter and purify it properly with a good filtration system, UV light, or even boil it to ensure it's safe. You might also consider getting it tested periodically to make sure it’s free from harmful contaminants! Would you like some tips on rainwater filtration?

All rainwater is now Acid Rain What do they do to treat it?
@HolicCreation5 күн бұрын
To treat acid rainwater, you can use methods like: Alkaline Treatment: Adding lime or sodium hydroxide to neutralize acidity. Filtration: Using filters like activated carbon to remove pollutants. Rainwater Harvesting Maintenance: Filtering and purifying water before storage. Environmental Solutions: Reducing air pollution to prevent acid rain. For smaller systems, filtration and pH balancing are common to make rainwater safe for use.

@HolicCreation21 күн бұрын

@HolicCreation10 күн бұрын
¿Alguna vez has probado este método?
