The co angler is there to learn, its an entry level experience. If you feel you have something to prove, trying to win every tournament from the back of the boat, you are there for the wrong reasons. Go fish the pro side, being competitive with your boater will get you nowhere. Notice Ben's boat positioning after that incident? He sucked in tight and fished parallel, never gave him a chance to pull thay crap again.

You're right that the co had already made his cast. But, he never should be casting that close to Ben in the first place and at least should have immediately reeled his bait in very quickly when Ben got bit. He's pushing the boundaries way to close. Ben can't thoroughly fish his water when the co is constantly pushing him. Terrible etiquette on the co anglers side

I'm probably gonna get roasted for saying this but I hope your co-angler reads this and any other co-anglers for that matter. I get it. The co-anglers pay a lot of money to fish these tournaments and they are competing as well. BUT, you gotta give the boater more room to fish and stay out of the way big time when the boater has as much on the line in this tournament as Ben and others in similar shoes. You just shouldn't ever make a cast in this situation unless you are positive that the boater isn't gonna have his bait near that cast. You just shouldn't ever make a cast before the boater and when the boater catches one and the boat drifts to an angle where you get fist dibs. Don't make that cast. I honestly believe if you can't play by those unwritten rules then you should stay home. Ok rant over
