I would say, don't expect too much in general. When you expect a lot, this often leads to disappointments. Just set your goals, follow those and enjoy every day of your life journey

Yes! The mental prep is just as important as the practical things.

Getting a haircut doesn't have to take months, unless you're very particular about which hairdresser you want to go to. There are many hair salons in large and smaller towns and there are always a few you can just walk in without an appointment. Note that *of course* they will not be the best, hottest hairdresser in town, but even if you are a little more particular, it should not be more than two weeks, usually just days. Finding a plumber or a reliable gardener, now that's often quite different! 😰

I can really relate to the part " they do not look interested in my culture" and to me that's totally fine, what i do not find fine is when they do not ask because they think to know everything about me already, and at the end they come up with a lot of stereotypical BS about my country
@MakingitinHolland2 жыл бұрын
That’s a really good point! I resonate with this very much too, because I’m from Turkey & there’s a big Turkish minority here many people “think” they already know all about me - because they’ve been to Istanbul once or met another a Turkish person once in their life. 😂

@@MakingitinHolland exactly, sometimes i got the feeling that dutch people lives on these false stereotypical belief, to name one "in the south of Europe people don't work they are lazy and they don't pay taxes" sounds like heaven to me 😂 helaas the reality is totally different

Hi 🥰 I would like to say something about the first point. As someone who is born in the Netherlands I find it offensive when people ask me were I am from or ask were I am originally from because I consider myself Dutch and maybe that’s why some dutch people don’t ask a lot about cultures. You make great content girl keep it up 👍
@MakingitinHolland2 жыл бұрын
Hey Filsan, that’s actually a very good point. Thank you so much for mentioning this, because that’s not something I thought about at all. Now I’m aware that this might be exactly why many people don’t ask these questions.

And thank you! 😊

I am Dutch too and I completely agree with you on this. I also find it offensive to ask where someone is from as I consider the other person as being Dutch too, just like me. And to me, it feels as if I'm prying in your private life if I should ask a question like that

Naming your channel " Making in in Holland" instead of making it in the Netherlands isn't very helpful.. lol

It’s shorter and catchier. I’m also based in Holland. But thank you for your input.
