You really need to think about how much capacity you provide on each route. Is it a really long route? Gotta have multiple planes. Is it a route that a looot of people are going to take? Then wou should put a high level plane on that route. You spend way too much money on upgrading airports. If people can't get out of the airport quick enough (because there are way too few planes) then upgrading the airport doesn't solve anything, it just postpones the problem. For example the New Delhi - Beijing route. Everyone flying from China to anywhere else HAS to take this route. It is also quite a long route. You only put 1 plane on it. At the end in Beijing you could see SO many people wanting to go to India and whereever. Way more than fit on the plane. And you upgraded the Beijing airport... Again, that does not solve the problem. Upgrade the plane and buy more planes on that route. Smaller routes to destinations from hubs really don't need big planes. Short routes means higher frequency, so small planes should be fine. Long routes means very low frequency, so you should make up for that by putting more planes on it. Also at the end there were 790 people at New Delhi wanting to go to Mexico City. That doesn't even fit in 1 plane. And then there are also loads of people going to any other city in Nigeria/US/Brazil. All of these people needed the Lagos - New Delhi route. Yet you only put 1 plane there. Of course that is going to jam up.

Can’t wait for next time when Drew only connects member states of intergovernmental organizations such as BRICS, NATO, ASEAN, the Arab League, the Pacific Alliance, ALBA, Caribbean Community to each other with no connections to any non-participating countries (I spent a lot of time double checking member states weren’t part of any other intergovernmental organizations, but I am human, so if I made a mistake, please let me know; or if there is another obscure organization that can connect countries that don’t appear on the rosters of any of these orgs).

If an airport is (almost) full. Dont upgrade it immediatly. First look at where most passengers have to go, and then buy another Plane on that route to get The passengers out of The AirPort quicker. This way you get a long-term sollution. If you just upgrade The airport it is a short term sollution. And this wont help long term

Tip: if youre planing long routes you can get a 7 level plane but the only way to get it is from a rare event where an aircraft manufacturer will give you a "super jet" as a gift and it will be placed on any free route.

That airport is exploding because the connected planes has less capacity or there less no of aeroplanes, which means you need to buy more planes and upgrade them in the busy routes or the long routes.
