I am opening a hobby box of 1997-98 Topps Chrome NBA Basketball for our next throwback collectible sports trading card pack unboxing/box break! Topps Chrome is an iconic set in sports cards, and 97/98 was one of the first ever releases! These 27 year-old boxes currently resell in the $1,000 range. Every 24-pack box contains several Refractors and inserts. These boxes come with chances at pulling rookie cards of NBA legend Tim Duncan (also Tracy McGrady), rare refractors of NBA legends/superstars (Michael Jordan & Kobe Bryant), various wild classic 1990s inserts from several sets (Destiny, Season's Best, Shooting Stars, Power Core, Key Master, Hotshots, Pressure Points, Front Court Finesse, Topps 40), the Chicago Bulls Championship Tribute Checklist, and more! While I would love a Jordan or Kobe since they aren't in packs anymore, my top goal is to pull a Tim Duncan Refractor Rookie! Try rubbing isopropyl alcohol on them with a soft cloth. The oxidation causes the greening

Because any box from 1996-97 is insanely expensive you should do 1998-99 topps chrome and chase Dirk, Vince, Kobe and Jordan. (But if you can get your hands on anything from 1996-97, do it!)

Sometimes gently flexing the cards back and forth in the pack before opening can help with the sticking. Not always but it can help. Awesome video!

Thanks for the old rip. Wish they weren’t so green or stuck together. Get some more Jordan stuff. Old fleer or upper deck could have Jordan. Fleer had great insert designs. Upper deck had Jordan stuff in bulls and Washington uniforms until 2009-2010 season. Always fun to open it all.

97-98 batch rookies are Duncan, Vanhorn and the Rick Pitino boys. One thing that I dislike on 90s cards is that they have series 1 and series 2. usually series 1 has the rookies. Hot packs are another thing. You get loaded cards but value is lower than usual. We use Beckett to check the price of a card. A base Jordan usually cost 5 USD. Look for 96-97 class goat level class similar to the 2003 rookie class

The good thing about this product is that bricking doesn’t matter and all the dirt/gunk comes off with a micro fibre quite easily.

Duplicates were crazy common back in the day... I don't think a lot of people (at least not us kids) were buying many boxes back in the 80s/90s... it was usually random packs from the cars shops
